It's the end of an era... When you announced what this week's video would be about, I immediately thought, "Yeah, I'm not gonna do that." But after watching your discussion, I decided to go ahead and pick my top ten from my yearly #1s. This is what I came up with:
    10. Round Trip, The Knack (1981)
    9. Beat Crazy, Joe Jackson Band (1980)
    8. 52nd Street, Billy Joel (1978)
    7. Sail Away, Randy Newman (1972)
    6. The Royal Scam, Steely Dan (1976)
    5. Out of the Blue, ELO (1977)
    4. Fragile, Yes (1971)
    3. The Monkees, Headquarters/Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones, Ltd. (1967)
    2. Dark Side of the Moon, Pink Floyd (1973)
    1. Abbey Road, The Beatles (1969)
This was a much harder challenge than I thought it would be, and I thought it would be a bitch... I really, really wanted to shoehorn a few albums onto the list, like The Rutles' Archaeology, Paul Williams' Surf Music, Donald Fagen's Kamakiriad, and anything by Fountains of Wayne and Barenaked Ladies, but hard decisions had to be made... I like to think the experience has made me a better man.

I started with you guys in 1980 and applaud y’all for sticking with it once we got into later years. I have beloved albums across multiple decades, but it’s pretty obvious that I’m an 80s gal. Here’s my top 10 of my number ones. This was a daunting task!
    1. Interpol - Turn On The Bright Lights (2002)
    2. The Sisters Of Mercy - First And Last And Always (1985)
    3. Dead Can Dance - Within The Realm Of A Dying Sun (1987)
    4. Morphine - Good (1992)
    5. Pet Shop Boys - Please (1986)
    6. The Knife - Silent Shout (2006)
    7. New Order - Power Corruption And Lies (1983)
    8. Placebo - Without You I’m Nothing (1998)
    9. Lord Huron - Vide Noir (2018)
    10. Depeche Mode - Songs Of Faith And Devotion (1993)
HMs: Japan - Gentlemen Take Polaroids (1980); The Sound - From The Lions Mouth (1981); The Cure - Disintegration (1989); Suede - Dog Man Star (1994); Muzz - Muzz (2020)

Hands down, Revolver is the most iconic and pinnacle Beatles album of all time and reigns supreme as head of its class to this day. Kudos for exceptional and exquisite taste on that one especially. Also, the Alice Cooper 'Killers' album is my top in his discography as well. Keep on rockin' and lockin' 'em in Paulster.

My Top 10 Favorite #1 Albums!
*And these actually are my top 10 favorite albums of all time! :3
    1. Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run (1975)
    2. Cocteau Twins - Heaven or Las Vegas (1990)
    3. Teenage Fanclub - Grand Prix (1995)
    4. Mark Eric - A Midsummer’s Day Dream (1969)
    5. R.E.M. - New Adventures in Hi-Fi (1996)
    6. Sloan - Never Hear the End of It (2006)
    7. Adam Schmitt - World So Bright (1991)
    8. Suicide - Suicide (1977)
    9. Laura Nyro - Eli and the Thirteenth Confession (1968)
    10. The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds (1966)
    Now…my top 10 worst choices ever…
    10. Björk Guðmundsdóttir - Björk (1977)
    9. Sleep Token - Take Me Back to Eden (2023)
    8. Insane Clown Posse - The Great Milenko (1997)
    7. Tones and I - Welcome to the Madhouse (2021)
    6. Tom MacDonald - Deathreats (2018)
    5. Onision - Onision (2012)
    4. Nostalgia Critic’s The Wall (2019)
    3. Psycho Sexual - Torch the Faith (2020)
    2. Corey Feldman - Angelic 2 the Core (2016)
    And….the absolute…worst album I have ever heard..is…🥁🥁🥁
    1. MENOMETRORRHAGIA - EXTREME GORE NOISE TERROR (2013)
*the absolute nadir of “music”. 26 minutes (at least it’s short, thank fuck) of harsh noisy bass and programmed machine gun-fast drums..and a bunch of a vomit and stomach sounds and noises made with a pitch shifter on mic..and there’s no lyrics on the album, but if the horrible cover art and song titles are anything to go by..I guess it’s about Resident Evil or something, idk..the cover features Claire and Leon from Resident Evil..doing absolutely horrible things to each other, in each other’s blood and internal organs (there’s even a song on the album called Internal Organs Everywhere), all of which tells you everything you need to know. It’s “gorenoise”, which is a genres that’s just noise and about blood and gore and stuff. So yeah..fuck this album and whoever made it! 😊

Paul could've just put all the Beatles albums into one tie. ;)
Took me some doing online to find info on that Puppetts album. Plenty of info on the album No Strings Attached by the Meat Puppets, though. With the way you were describing the Puppetts album cover, I thought maybe it was an actual photo of Gallagher and Marcel Marceau and Terry Kath etc. Maybe cardboard cutouts like they were doing a sort of Sgt. Pepper homage. Then again, I'm sure it would've cost them a lot to get clearance to use their likenesses. Best to just bare a resemblance to them. Ha. I did see the link to the cover you provided, Paul, in the comments, so.
Funny, I don't ever recall hearing that Hocus Pocus song until more recently when reactions to their performance of it on the Midnight Special sort of went viral.
Would've thought Cut The Crap was a gift to those who hate the Clash. Then again, since it wasn't the classic lineup and it's been disowned not only by the majority of their fanbase but also by the band themselves while Sandinista hasn't been, I guess that's fair.
Ah, Sam Sacks. Thanks again Tommy for introducing me to that and giving me one of my biggest laughs, especially at a time when I really needed one.
I hope Paul knows how lucky he is to have friends like Crystal and Tommy who are willing to travel from wherever they reside at to the As It Should Be Studios to do videos with him discussing their favorite and least favorite music. We all should be so lucky to have friends like that. Ha. I've certainly enjoyed the ride myself. It is something I look forward to every Thursday along with whatever Paul posts on Mondays. Apologies if these comments of mine tend to be long. I hope it at least shows that I did indeed watch the videos all the way through. Ha.
    All the best. :)

    Another great episode!
Regarding the band Focus, I totally get the Hocus Pocus song being annoying as hell and I don't really like listening to it myself, but the album it's on (Moving Waves) is actually pretty good. The other songs are more progressive rock instrumentals and they do a fantastic job on them. But yeah the yodeling Hocus Pocus song is not their best, although it made them famous.
