[Gen X-er here who grew up on his dad's tunes of the classic rock era, and came of age in the 90s era of alternative & golden age of hiphop]. I love and respect your obvious passion for music, but your open mind & soul is what separates you from the pack. Many of us could learn alot from you in that regard. The world needs more people like you my friend, don't ever change. I always tell people there is good and bad music in every genre, and you've got to be willing to try everything once or you'll never know if you like something. There is no such thing as a "best band" or "best genre". Music is like ice cream. There are tons of flavors out there, and who am I to tell someone strawberry is better than pistachio or vice versa. It's all about preference and perspective. Keep on keepin' on my man. Glad to see you're opening a whole new world of music and diving in with a new perspective on all of it. I am kind of jealous that I can't recapture that feeling of listening to a lot of this stuff for the first time again, but watching you do it is a close runner up to that. You have a great attitude and outlook on things and you're gonna make a great father someday if you're not already one. PS - I would have to say if you love the whole "Take a ride" style of rock song, then an ABSOLUTE MUST is Thick As A Brick by Jethro Tull. It'll absolutely blow your mind. Talk about a journey 🤯💯☮🕉
Tool transcends. Just look at who's doing reaction videos and falling in love with Tool. People from every walk of life. We are lucky. Thank God for Tool? Lol
Thank You! I've been requesting Tool for a bit now. So glad you enjoyed this song. Please do more Tool. I think Lataralus or 10,000 days would be a good song from them to react to next
That feeling when you step onto a train and you didn't know it was a bullet, and you stagger off 15 minutes later half way across the country and not sure what the fcuk happened!
Adam “ hey Maynard , I finished the next song for the album it’s called Tempest . It’s ready for the lyrics”. Maynard , “ cool. How many riffs are in this one ?” Adam ,” All of them “.
Adam Jones absolutely shreds on this song and of course Danny does what he does. This is my 2nd favorite song on the album. Pneuma is my favorite song on the album
I subbed just cuz it was so fun watching you have an eargasm from Tool. I'm not really even into reaction videos that much, I get the concept and some are kind of entertaining but I'm not entirely sold on it per say but... you seem like a cool ass dude and you're open minded enough to admit that you've overlooked the most talented and brilliant band and now you have a whole new perspective from just giving something different a try. Well done brother. I did the same thing in my youth and was into rap and rock but one of my best friends introduced me to Tool and I was instantly mesmerized. Hook, line and sinker. My friend passed away very young and I kept listening to them as a way to heal from it. Now when I hear them a part of him lives on in me and I know without a doubt one day we will listen to this together wherever the heck that may be. I'm so thankful to be alive to experience Tool. I've seen them twice in concert and I can't even put into words what that was like. Raw emotion, and deep appreciation for those guys. Great video man. That was really fun to watch.
The whole album is in my top songs list, just can't separate them. When it was released, I've set it on repeat for 3 straight weeks, while at work, pausing only for a smoke or glass of water.
It’s funny to do a 1st reaction to a Tool song. I’ve listened to this song like 30 times at least and I’m still trying to figure out what I think of it. One hell of a song!
I'm working on this theory that this album is actually supposed to be listened to in reverse order. Not the songs themselves backwards but just the tracks. It makes much more sense and is way more linear if done so. 🤷♂️
Ezmeralda Du Dortoka I totally agree. When I listened to the songs and how they made me feel. Fear Inoculum to me is almost like an antidote to the all the chaos we create for ourselves and it made me look deep into myself. 7empest is so crazy and all over the place! But I love it so much. “You are darkness”. It goes from Serenity to literally a tempest. It took me a little while. But this is my favorite album. Perhaps of all time. 🤷🏽♂️ anyways this comment wasn’t meant to be this long. 👌🏽👊🏽👍🏽
Many love to say that the 60s, 70s, and 80s were the best time for music...and I agree but I would also throw the 90s in there as well as we had amazing talents all through the 90 decade!!! Tool, Rage, Pumpkins, AIC, Pearl Jam, Radiohead, Beastie Boys, Lenny Kravitz, Faith No More, etc, etc, etc!!!! Good decade to be alive and kicking ass!!!!
I love how you really let yourself get lost in the music and appreciate it for what it is. Too many reactors seem to be superficial listeners. If you're going down the Tool rabbit hole (which I highly recommend), some songs I really enjoy from them are "The Grudge", "Parabol/Parabola", and "Right in Two."
Nice 6 times live. I've seen them twice. I saw them 9-20-2001 after 9/11 happened and I'll never forget that concert as long as I live and then again in 2006. I need to see them again.
This is still my favorite group, other than Led Zeppelin. I hope you are doing well. I like listening to their videos with you. I remember when their first album dropped and I bought the cd (it's a silver disc lol) I listened to it and called my best friend and told him he had to stop everything and come over Immediately to hear this album. Yeah,,, he's hooked still. We've been to many concerts o and others. Great stuff. For me, they are second place to the true God's of Rock, Led Zeppelin, but I'm 57 years old and survived many punk rock and metal slam dancing, and stage diving pits, including Pantera, with Coal Chamber, and Anthrax. That was the most insane awesome concert ever.they all got on stage at the end and did Black Sabbath, Black Sabbath. As well as Ted Nugent. I don't expect you to find this comment, but I respect all your videos and your comments, I hope you are reaping what you sow because it's always sounded honest to me. Thank you for listening to what I'm hearing Bro.
And likely you will join the trip down the rabbit hole! It's an experience you'll literally laugh at some of Maynard's lyrics, and find yourself sobbing at others. And while the lyrics guide you, it's the music that really digs in. Welcome, both of you, to the experience of Tool.
I am not surprised by your reaction to TOOL. Us long time TOOL fans know what we have in TOOL. We all know what they can do. It's cool seeing a whole new generation finding out for the first time. Now that you've entered the TOOL rabbit hole, there ain't no turning back. Go back to their older stuff. It doesn't matter what song you choose. They're all amazing. I guarantee you, do more TOOL reactions and the TOOL Army will come. 😊😊
I’ve been listening to Tool since 91-92. I’m 41 now. I’ve judged almost every other band against their standard since. Very few live up. I like music of most eras, but truly believe the late 80’s/90’s/early 2000’s was critical mass of GREAT BANDS. Too many to name, but my faves were Tool (and side projects) was Pantera (and side projects), Nine Inch Nails, Manson, Alice, etc, etc.
Man said "I don't know how you top that" well sir, jump down that Tool rabbit hole, fasten your seat belt, and enjoy the ride cause... YOU GONNA LEARN TODAY! 😁😂😁😂

I've listened to this album now probably 30 times, I am out of breath STILL every time I get through one of the big 3 (Invincible, Descending, 7empest and sometimes Culling Voices). Musically speaking these guys are knocking on Zeppelin's door, if not even more dynamic than them and most anyone else.
Welcome to Tool sir. Yes we did grow up hearing some of the best music ever made and I'm so glad they put this out and gathered a ton of new fans. Do yourself a big favor and listen to everything they've ever made. It will really make you appreciate this special time we have on this planet. Tool has shaped my life and helped me out in so many ways and always my go to band when I need to clear my mind or just vent. Maynard is a genius lyrically and has a voice like no other. The band just fits so well and you can hear in their music they don't just knock out songs for the hell of it and pour everything into their music. They play in some really strange time signatures but they are amazing at putting their puzzle together and it all just works. Enjoy the journey my man and I hope you really do go back and listen to everything they've made!

Yup
Tool's riff are mostly all clavés, it's more about figuring the pattern of the pulses rather than the tempo
Danny Carey (the drummer) uses sacred geometry and magical sigils to arrange his drums and patterns. He's basically opening a portal with his drums.

Has to be one of the best bands of all time. Great reaction
The best, next to Rush IMO
Adam “ hey Maynard , I finished the next song for the album it’s called Tempest . It’s ready for the lyrics”.
Maynard , “ cool. How many riffs are in this one ?”
Adam ,” All of them “.
Lol, most won't understand this haha
Adam Jones absolutely shreds on this song and of course Danny does what he does. This is my 2nd favorite song on the album. Pneuma is my favorite song on the album
This album has some of the best of Adam's work on it
I subbed just cuz it was so fun watching you have an eargasm from Tool.
Adam is amongst the immortal guitarists of today
Love when you don't want to pause it and interrupt the greatness of Tool!!
The album is a masterpiece. My favorite songs on it are Decending, Pneuma, and Invincible.
Please say 7empest is at least fourth!
Culling Voices and 7emptest are at the top for me!
Temptest is the best
The whole album is in my top songs list, just can't separate them. When it was released, I've set it on repeat for 3 straight weeks, while at work, pausing only for a smoke or glass of water.
Tool is just simply better than anyone else
Don't be jealous, brother. You get to go back and discover SO MUCH awesomeness.
Been waiting for you to get to Tool. Figured you'd make it away some point. Now there's no turning back!!! 🤟🤟🤟🤟
It’s funny to do a 1st reaction to a Tool song. I’ve listened to this song like 30 times at least and I’m still trying to figure out what I think of it. One hell of a song!
Idk what's cooler your shirt or your hat but, this song is like old tool meets new tool.
You Should do every Tool song in order. You will be rewarded in many ways
Amor odio Amor It’s literally the journey of being human lol
@@camjam180 😜
I'm working on this theory that this album is actually supposed to be listened to in reverse order. Not the songs themselves backwards but just the tracks. It makes much more sense and is way more linear if done so. 🤷♂️
Ezmeralda Du Dortoka don’t know if ur right but will definitely try it
Ezmeralda Du Dortoka I totally agree.
Never apologize for feeling a need to rewind a tool song to rehear a part.... we all totally understand cuz we've all done it to. 😉
Tool is a band tht is so musically talented. It mks you appreciate all music in a new light.
12:42 "My goodness"
Yeah, that Adam Jones's other name
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂 👏🏻👏🏻
Yup
I love how you really let yourself get lost in the music and appreciate it for what it is. Too many reactors seem to be superficial listeners. If you're going down the Tool rabbit hole (which I highly recommend), some songs I really enjoy from them are "The Grudge", "Parabol/Parabola", and "Right in Two."
You like them now, go see them live! They are unbelievable!!! I’ve seen them 6 times live and worth every bit of money and more.
Nice 6 times live. I've seen them twice. I saw them 9-20-2001 after 9/11 happened and I'll never forget that concert as long as I live and then again in 2006. I need to see them again.
Yep 6 for me as well first 97 and last show was start of this year
One of my regrets of my life is not to see them live yet. I think I would end up crying due to how much this band has helped me.
This will be my first listen too
And likely you will join the trip down the rabbit hole! It's an experience you'll literally laugh at some of Maynard's lyrics, and find yourself sobbing at others. And while the lyrics guide you, it's the music that really digs in. Welcome, both of you, to the experience of Tool.
Enjoy. Do yourself a favor and listen to their library of music. They are incredible
Same
I am not surprised by your reaction to TOOL. 😊😊
That might be my favorite song ever. Danny Carey is the best drummer alive playing in the best band ever.
I could be friends with this man
I've been alive for 39 years, and I still have yet to see another band that comes close to the genius of Tool.
Man said "I don't know how you top that" well sir, jump down that Tool rabbit hole, fasten your seat belt, and enjoy the ride cause...
YOU GONNA LEARN TODAY!
😁😂😁😂
They won a Grammy for this song.
My man👍😁👍...in all honesty if u start reacting to Tool lyric videos...ur views and subs will skyrocket...The Tool army will always show up
Haha I just subbed because I just watched Pneuma and this.
true that. we are a loyal bunch.
Agreed
Damn right
That's how I found Jamel
Been a fan since 96. It's been great growing up with Tool as a soundtrack. Glad you are now a fan. #OGT
Listen to Lateralus, the entire album, beginning to end.
Being 19 and hearing Aenima for the first time certainly was a pivotal moment in my life, now i'm 44 and i've seen Tool live 12 times.
Awesome, definitely check out Invincible by Tool, my personal favorite from the new album.
BEST MUSIC I EVER EVER HEARD, HANDS DOWN!!! NOTHING ELSE COMES CLOSE. PEACE!! IVE LISTENED TO THIS ALBUM FOR LIKE THE LAST 5 YEAR STRAIGHT EVERYDAY AN I'M STILL BLOWN AWAY EVERYTIME!! AMPED!!!
Welcome to the community! We all have our own preconceived notions we need to move past.
TOOL nov 8...here I come!!! My fav so far...reminds me of old tool. Album is fantastic. Stoked
How was it? Oct. 27th in Houston was my 7th show. Buying tickets tomorrow for Dallas next January!!
@@dcthestar it was AWESOME! I have to say though that I miss the way venues used to be a bit more "relaxed." I had great seats(which I paid dearly for)...if I had been Gen. Admission I think I would've love the graphics but would've felt a small disconnect. Maybe I'm just old and miss the good ole days BUT Anytime seeing TOOL is an amazing experience. I snuck and got some awesome footage. They closed with 46 and 2 and did stinkfist as an encore🤟🤟🤟👏👏👏🎶🥁
Tool - The Grudge
I saw Tool for the first time in November, it was a bucket list event. Seeing Danny Carey live was spiritual
Try Tool's "Reflection" beautiful song.
He’s gonna loose his dam mind! My favorite song of all time! I’ll be waiting for that one.
Disposition/reflection/triad
Yasss!!!!
Oh yes! Disposition!!!
Watch the weather change...
One of my favourite songs, ever! He's gotta do the Holy Trinity, Disposition, Reflection, and Triad.
ELITE BAND PERIOD
"Y'all grew up with some great music. Now all we got is trash on top of trash"
My guy, this album came out less than a month ago.
Its got tools early vibes. I'd say it fits.
I believe he was speaking of the band's music in general, not this album specifically...
@@hollyroxy25 Yeah. That's the impression I got.
it took 13 years between albums...just in time to re energize for the next 13 years
92 changed everything
Tool 7EMPEST Lyrics:
Heat lighting flash, but don't blink
Misleading
Tranquility ruse
You're gonna happen again
That's what I think
Follow the evidence
Look it dead in the eye
You are darkness
Trying to lull us in, before the havoc begins
Into a dubious state of serenity
Acting all surprised when you're caught in the lie
We know better
It's not unlike you
It's not unlike you
We know your nature
Blame it all on the bastards when you're blowing out
Shame on you
Shame on you, now
No amount of wind could to begin to cover up your petulant stench and demeanor
Calm as cookies and cream, so it seems
We're not buying your dubious state of serenity
Acting all surprised when you're caught in the lie
We know better
It's not unlike you
It's not unlike you
We know your nature
Calm before…
I've listened to this album now probably 30 times, I am out of breath STILL every time I get through one of the big 3 (Invincible, Descending, 7empest and sometimes Culling Voices). Musically speaking these guys are knocking on Zeppelin's door, if not even more dynamic than them and most anyone else.
meatball1974 agreed with everything you just said. Same. Jaw dropping music. Didn’t think this was possible.
Better than LZ
