      @@VINZBROWN I have moved to my parents home town in Jalisco. I plan on staying here pretty much about 90 percent of my time for the next couple of years. I still have to go to SD in order to cut my ties with commiefornia. I don't have a Vlog as of now but I plan on building a small hotel here in this town. Life is a lot more tranquil here and simple. I am on messenger. Though not very active on it.
      Many interesting things to do within a couple of hours drive from here.

    New state laws are forcing people who work remotely and travel a lot or are expat to leave SD. This issue has to do with recent law changes that are not allowing employers to pay unemployment tax to SD. If the company doesn't have a fiscal presence in the state then they can't pay the unemployment tax. People need to really consider if this is the right choice due to these recent changes.

      We have not witnessed that people who are our customers and who work remotely are being forced to leave South Dakota. If people are working remotely as a W2 employee, then it is true that South Dakota does not allow the payroll tax/unemployment taxes to be paid to South Dakota UNLESS the work is actually being performed in South Dakota. If remote workers are independent contractors/receive a 1099, then this does not affect them. Customers I have spoken with have reached out to their employer's HR department and many have been able to work out that their employer either sends the unemployement tax to the state where the work is being performed or to the state where the company is headquartered. I encourage those who want to become a SD resident and are remote workers to check with their employer about this if they are a W2 employee. Also, please feel free to call us to discuss it at 605-722-5270.

    Hello. The drivers license must be surrendered. And a South Dakota licensed issued. What if I have a CDL? Thank you.

    • @southdakotaresidencycenter8015
      @southdakotaresidencycenter8015  Рік тому

      Hello- thank you for your question. If you have a CDL driver's license, it will also transfer to your new SD driver's license as long as your current driver's license is not expired. If you also have a hazmat endorsement, then there is more involved. If you have further questions about other endorsements on the driver's license, you can contact the State DMV office at 605-773-6883, option 6.

    Does the address from this location be on my driver's license? Would I be able to use it for insurance needs to "store a vehicle" there while I'm on the road?

    • @southdakotaresidencycenter8015
      @southdakotaresidencycenter8015  2 роки тому +4

      Hello Lance - Yes, the address that goes on your driver's license will read "41 West Highway 14, PMB#---, Spearfish, SD 57783. Typically when people give out their address to obtain insurance, they just use the 41 West Highway 14 and only add on the PMB# for the mailing address if that is requested. Please call me at 605-722-5270 if you would like to discuss anything. Thank you.

    This is misleading... South Dakota is Awesome but, Insurance Rates are not cheap, and registration was more expensive than CA (our home state).. they are super helpful... but I would deff do more research after calling tons of Insurance people, they said they keep hearing that people expect it to be cheaper insurance and several insurances said that is not true and that it is actually higher since you have no taxes. Makes sense but kind bummed cause this said it would be "lower" How is it more expensive than California 🤦‍♀️
    If you are sold on the cheaper I would look elsewhere.

      After speaking with people from across the country, I have heard that South Dakota has less expensive vehicle insurance rates than some states and more expensive than others. I am glad you called around to several different places to get prices. I spoke with a customer of ours recently, and after checking several insurance companies in South Dakota, he found reasonable rates and was happy.

    I have a question: I have heard that it becomes very difficult to purchase a firearm if PMB is on your driver's license, is this true? And is it possible to buy a property and have that property listed on your driver's license, but use SDRC as my mailing address? Thank you.

    Once you sign the avidaffit, it means you can come back and live in South dakota as a resident some day. Does that mean I can live in SD 1 year after being absent, then move on to another state to settle down?

    Hello sir, did the law change in SD that one has to get a physical address there to be granted domicile. I plan to retire overseas next year and will need to relocate my address in US due to tax reasons. It makes me wonder why other states can't be like SD. Feels like govt set us (the people) for failure. Can't win. Ty.

    • @southdakotaresidencycenter8015
      @southdakotaresidencycenter8015  Рік тому

      The law is that you do have to have a physical address in South Dakota in order to become a SD resident. That is what our business will provide if you call us to sign up for a mailbox service, which also provides the physical address in South Dakota. If you would like to discuss this, please call our office at 605-722-5270.

    Do not, I repeat, do not pursue residency in South Dakota if you are not self-employed or working as a contractor. The state of South Dakota is not on the same page across agencies and this could end up costing you thousands of dollars. Ask me how I know. One month into being a SD resident I now have to move everything to a different state. Learn from my mistake and do your own research; SD Residency Center is not telling people this information up front.

      My name is Lynne and I work for the SD Residency Center. If a customer or potential customer calls us and tells us they are remote working, we discuss this new bill with them every time. We don't know who is signing up with us as a remote worker or full-time traveler or both unless it is disclosed to us. We have many customers now that are remote working as W2 employees who have worked out with their employer to have the unemployment taxes paid to the state where the work is being performed or to the state where the company is headquartered. If a company has a presence in South Dakota; for example, such as Verizon or 3M, there is a high likelihood that SD residency and remote working would work smoothly.
      If you want to discuss this with us, please give us a call at 605-722-5270.

      @@southdakotaresidencycenter8015It's not clear to me how I was supposed to know that I needed to proactively disclose to you that I am a remote worker when you are literally advertising your services to people who either travel full time or are remote workers - see video description above. I had no idea this was even a question I needed to ask, but you all did. You are the experts. That's why we look to you for guidance. Why would you not say, hey, you should know that there is a recent legislative change that has been a major stumbling block for some people? Yes, I'm frustrated right now, but I also do not think I'm being unreasonable.
      And heads up to others - it's not as simple as just paying unemployment taxes in the state where your company is registered. You'll also likely have to pay their state payroll taxes as well. So before you do anything, please, please check with your employer.

    but now that the democrats are making new tax laws forcing people to only live in a fixed building.
    and now trying to make a gas/diesel shortage.
    how can we live as we want? i would like to travel around, and see some of this great country. that requires me to not have a fixed address.
    (fixed address is a stick and brick place that is permanently anchored to the ground).
    what new anti freedom laws are next?

      I really think we can help you live the life of seeing this great country and having an address for tax purposes. You only have to come back to South Dakota once every 5 years once you get residency established here, which only takes 24 hours to do. If interested, please call us at 605-722-5270 at the South Dakota Residency Center.
