Remember most people from NYC are extremely friendly and helpful. If someone yells at, or is rude to you it's almost 100% because YOU were doing something stupid.
I’ve become addicted to your videos as a foodie, Broadway fan and world traveler. Thanks for your helpful tips especially about NYC “don’t”s. Just as side note… I travel by myself and I’m out late at shows and dining. So despite the cost, I choose a midtown hotel for accommodations to avoid 30-60 minute subway rides at midnight. I can usually find a place within 15 minutes walk from Broadway. I do pay close to $200 a night for an upscale closet but it’s worth it for me.
That makes sense!
Love your videos. You show the essence of NYC. As a fellow New Yorker thanks for promoting our beautiful city.
My hectic life in California just seems easier after watching this
the contrast between the 2 is very interesting. We need a city that has all the best parts of NY and LA combined without the bad parts, thatd be the perfect city
I always tell people visiting New York to avoid to scammers, like the people selling fake tickets to attractions. Remember to buy tickets from official vendors, not the sketchy people standing near the attractions trying to convince you otherwise. I see this all the time in lower Manhattan with fake Statue of Liberty tickets.
Great tips! Travelling to NYC in a week from Europe. Just a point with OMNY contactless option for EU visitors with a visa/mastercard enabled chip card, there will be fees on top of every tap transaction of approx 2%, different for different banks but unless one is using Revolut or N26, those fees on the smaller transactions can really add up. Prob best then to get a Metro card. Contactless is super convenient but might not be the best financially viable option for travellers from Europe etc :)
Planning my first trip to New York this summer to watch the Yankees. Arriving via Amtrak at Penn Station. Worried about using the subway to go places is the only thing holding me back. Wish there was a forum to get advise about how to and which ones to take
Sent lat week in NY and used a bunch of your tips :)
In regards of the subway, google maps is great for planning trips. If you select a subway stop on gmaps, it will show you which lines go by that stop. And you can plan by using directions to another stop just like if you are driving but select train instead.
And for EU travelers. Mobile data is expensive. Use an esim to get cheap data.
Excellent, Jon. I'll watch this video later when I finish the gym. Hope you and the family are all well! Big thumbs up.
Thank you so much for the video. It really helped!
I look forward to watching this later 😊
Thanks looking forward to this
Going back in July. Thank you so much for this compilation!
Great compilation! Eliminates having to look around for different subjects.
Love the video bro! great idea for a yearly video.
Thank you so much! I'm going to NYC in july and I really needed a video like this to have everything planned
Hi Jon,
Thank you for this review video for tourists in NYC. I really like this overview.
I watch your channel avidly.
Best Wishes,
Peter
I enjoyed your video it is great
Intrepid is an amazing place to visit too. Loved it too ♥
The Full Monty! Even I, being a former NYer Born in Brooklyn, can use these tips when I come back to visit.
Excellent Jon!
Thank you for the reminder to those first-timers who visit the 9/11 memorial to not take smiling selfies. I visit often from Los Angeles, and I can't tell you how much it bothers me when I see people taking selfies and peace signs at the memorial. I have asked people nicely not to do that but rather take a photo of the location. They fail to remember it's still a resting place.
I love summit. It is my favourite place as a tourist visiting from overseas. It was an awesome time spent there.
Excited about utopia bagel
Thanks for this.
Next month will be the third time I've visited NYC from Manchester, England within 12 months (although the second time was a brief stop over). Safe to say the city has got under my skin!
As a frequent visitor to NYC I still use a MetroCard- (Reduced Fare version for Seniors). I understand there will be other option for Seniors later this year.
Dude!!! You GOTTA
try BROOKLYN ROOTS in Bay Ridge!!! Right up your alley!!!!
Omny is Not only from monday to Sunday now! It is Any 7 day period :)
Always wanted to come to NY for Xmas.. ..but one day I suppose.. on a different note love India lol xx bless you brother from London ❤
Not Long now... Looking forward to taking a couple of Nowaday tours (but not as much as lunch with you)
I am leaving in 6 hours, could have use this video last week hehe
Would love to learn about lovely boutique home goods spots for gifts and personal items, artisian jewelry and gifts.
Top of the Rock was so worth it for me on my first visit two weeks ago. Like you said, you really feel part of the city, spent about two hours up there at night.
Totally agree!
I think it’s the best view because you get the entire park unobstructed and then the rest of the city on the other side
I'd never use a shuttlebus again for the exact reasons you gave. The last time I went it didn't turn up so had to get a taxi back to jfk.
Prayer For The French Republic closed on March 3rd so you might want to take that segment out. Also, just a warning. I love the New York Botanical Garden with all of my heart, but be wary of your personal possessions. I went to see the orchid show a few years ago and my phone was pickpocked up while I was taking pics with my camera. The display is in their main greenhouse which gets crazy busy. To add to the bike thing I have almost been hit walking on the sidewalk by both bikes and modpeds. I have also almost been hit while they run red lights.
I am coming to New York City next week and train doesn’t get in until midnight. What is the best way to get from Penn Station in New York to the Meadowlands after midnight
Could you do videos on day trips away from manhattan? Like rent a car or use Turo ?
I did the crown of the statue of liberty, it is not for the unfit, it was probably one of the hardest things ive done physically.
Travelling to New York in may and on a budget which is already challenging to find anywhere affordable can any tell me how reliable is an air bnb and if flying in and out of jfk is it too difficult to try and stay in jersey as that seems to have the cheapest options or paying slightly more to stay in Brooklyn is worth it? Thanks in advance
J! Can you folks revisit Coney Island this year...
hopefully before Labour Day😅
You know what, I think i will. On my radar, it's been a long time. I did show it for Christmas actually.
@@HereBeBarrwhere can you find out about random things, such as can I get to an airshow or military displays/open days. Where are the different gig Venues or day long music events. Or something so American it would be a shame to miss out on.
I visit New York soon
no u can not
Hello 👋
