Ed Begley is a great guest to have on any show. He doesn't use it as an opportunity to shove environmental issues down peoples throats like other actors in Hollywood. Hes more than happy to discuss his career and tells great stories

Its now 2022,.........I think this interview posted in 2015 or 2016. So, Kevin,.....another great interview. I was always a fan of Ed Begley Jr., beginning with his role in St. Elsewhere. I'd seen him in other movies since then. Then he did a great documentary on The General Motors Electric car, one of the first ever produced,.....though only a limited amount were produced, and they were "tested", by a handful of famous and NOT famous people. I think they didn't pay for them,......GM gave them to people to test and review. They exceeded people's expectation,...they were nearly perfect and performed excellently. They were TOO GOOD,....and everyone who test drove them, said YES,..this the future of America motoring.
GM,....for what ever reason,.....freaked out, by how wonderfully the car performed and how wildly successful they were. .........SO WHAT DID THE IDIOTS AT GM DO?......THEY ASKED FOR ALL THEIR TEST MODEL CARS BACK AND DEMOLISHED EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM. Crushing them & cutting them into tiny little pieces. I'm not sure that a single one was saved and put in a museum or given to a collector. GM didn't want people, consumers to know that such a thing was possible,...probably because of pressure from the KOCH Brothers,....who wanted to make sure Americans & the world at large, would continue to be forced to buy gasoline. The Billionaire class, didn't want to see their greedy profits, diminish. A successful electric car would mean less gasoline would be sold. The car was called: The EV 1. It was introduced in 1996, but didn't roll out until 1997,.....and only a limited edition were produced as "test models". GM made up some bullshit lies,...saying the battery packs were too expensive and difficult to produce. Maybe so,....but this meant it set back competition to improve them and make them cheaper. This set back, all forward movement on all electric cars being designed and built and experimented with. So they destroyed all forward movement in this field by another 25 years! (1997 to 2022) Its 2022 now, as I write this,....and electric cars are finally being produced by several car companies. Ed Begley's documentary on the EV 1 was excellent. He also launched at this time a series on You Tube, about how ordinary people could go "more green", with their daily lives. How to build solar cells to heat their homes, or find ways to "go off the power grid",....create electricity from wind and water at their own homes. I corresponded with him via e-mail, about the topic and he was most generous, and got back to me in a timely manner. I had questions and he had great ideas and solutions. ( So thank you again, Ed Begley Jr. !)

What an informative interview. I knew I liked Ed Begley for something other than the obvious, such a genuine man.

Haven't even finished this yet and I already love it. I don't know why two people sitting around talking is so interesting, but it is.

The Invisible Man... damn, he really made "Amazon Women on the Moon" worthwhile with that one.

oh my god... Begly doing the Peter Falk impression, I happened to be looking away from my monitor when he started it, and for the first like 5 seconds I thought it was Kevin doing it. I mean Kevin does the greatest one ever (yea for as much ink as he gets for Shatner and Walken, but far and away my favorites of his are Alan Arkin, Albert Brooks and Falk), but that one Begley just pulled off was daaaaaamn close.

the thing he's talking about with Cheers, yea I remember hearing about this several years ago, that it finished dead last in overall TV ratings (of any night) at the end of its first season, and obviously it still got to live. What also kills me, back in those days getting 20 million weekly viewers was considered weak, that got your show cancelled. An audience # that executives WOULD LITERALLY MURDER THEIR OWN FAMILY FOR today lol

After the ringing endorsement that Peter Weller gave for Mr. begley's Jeff Goldblum impression...and you didn't even ASK him to do it?
    I'm sad....
