So glad to be bringing my 5 (nearly 6) children to the park after 24 years(!) I first saw you in 1999. The kids club was the JRC Jolly Roger Club... and Fridays were Crunchie day! You had Roger Parks on keyboard, Darren Lee the magician with his rabbit (Cassie short for Casserole)... I can remember the girls, Kaz, Liz, Natalie. Your set included Phantom of the Opera, Les Mis, a whole lot of Neil Diamond, a hilarious Mr Bean at the beach sketch. My baby brother won the bonniest baby contest and my parents won the fancy dress (dressed as Terry Pratchett characters) and my mum won best legs as well 😂 the 90s were funny eh?! 😂 But what a week. Memories that never went away. I won the talent contest singing Britney Spears and I swear your dressing room looked exactly the same back then?! 😂 The club itself is vastly different. I had no idea you did the structural stuff yourself - lighting installation, painting sets etc. Absolutely phenomenal. My late father (Richard Preston) did some filming for you guys at a couple of shoes you did away from the park, I remember going with him. He was a huge fan too. Your voice is remarkably unchanged, and the energy of the performances - just as amazing as it was 24 years ago!! The line up is superb, I'm just sorry we only get 3 days here... Have loved Fri & Sats shows. Looking forward to the speakeasy tomorrow too. xxx
