  • In this Dawlish sea wall update, ‪@BeachCamsMan‬ meets Jack Brookes from ‪@BAMNuttallTV‬ at midnight on Saturday to watch them install the new precast lift shaft sections.
The precast lift sections are shipped from ‪@ShaymurtaghUk‬ and installed by a 500-tonne crane during the possession of the railway when no trains are running.
In this Dawlish sea wall update, there are two lift shaft sections installed. Each unit weighs about 28 tonnes.

Running out of superlatives regarding the quality of these videos. The presentation and quality is superb, Jack from BAM giving a brilliant commentary of the work being undertaken explaining the technical aspects in an easy to understand language. There can be no complaints about the commitment of all the people involved in this project. Hats off to you guys yet again you have cracked it. Well done to you Neil what a documentary of all the work this will make for the future.

Amazing. Love the technical commentary from Jack. He explains everything so well. Neil nice edit mate. Thanks for a wonderful vid. That crane is a significant piece of engineering. Will watch it several more times to ensure I haven't missed anything. 😄

What a privilege it is to be able to not only watch this amazing engineering work but also to have Jack's expert commentary. Thank you Beach Cam Man for staying up all night to film this and to Jack for taking time out to explain to us what is happening on what must be a very busy night for him.

@@CoastCams247 This proper documentary work and I wish there was much more it to this kind of quality. Britain needs to show off more of its significant infrastructure works like this. This is not only a great set of videos, but actually serve as an important reference. I would also love to visit Dawlish once these works are completed. Great stuff 👍

I think it's absolutely superb that you do these videos. It's a lot of disruption for the locals (i lived in Dawlish for a year a decade or so ago), but when you know what's going on and why, it makes a massive difference. And it's so interesting to learn about all this stuff.

Great video, I cast it to my Sony TV, and the quality is 1st class, it must be a challenge doing drone shots at night... can't wait to come down and see it all this summer.... thanks to Jack and Bam...👍👍👍

What a fantastic film , very well done,a fabulous partnership here.I have enjoyed all of the monthly updates. Seems a shame that it’s coming to an end soon. It’s a fabulous bit of British engineering.

Thank you for explaining the details. The workmen building our local station lift wouldn't answer any questions, which was frustrating.

Coming together beautifully now and the first of the two lift shafts taking shape. I loved the night - lit photography, but found the music a little too powerful and exotic for this particular application.

Wow at the start. With the drone view. Never realised how close the back of the station actually was to the houses on the other side of the road. It’s almost a lane.
