Im all American but it's getting hard to afford being patriotic with the cost of out door gear. Matthews and hoyt for example pricing themselves right out of the working mans market. It goes the same for many American made companies in the world of the outdoorsman. Polaris is another one my family have always ran Polaris but theyre getting too pricey. If you can afford it that's great but I'm a working family man. My play money is short and preciou$$$$
Yep be getting some of them I got the 550s got my very first cat with one today but since as you knw only one per permit in Illinois so I’m tagged out. Tight chains fellas!!
I was wondering about the D 650. I run Bridger dog on and dogless in # 2 and 3 offset fully modified. Also 4 coil them. And mb 550 and 650. On public land I run Duke #3 offset 4 coil. I had good luck with them. All my traps are nite latch. That said I like the Bridger dogless #2 offset 4 coil modified. I like the looks of duke dogless #2 offset 4 coil. I am planning on run 2 dz of them next yr. I seen a Wolf Creek brand #2 dogless 4 coil offset traps. Haven't gotten my hands on one yet. But for 8.00 trap. I mite have to modified them some. Would be a public land trap to look at. If someone stole one not like getting a mb stolen.
I am new to this and on your recommendation I got a dozen of these Duke 650 OS Pro's. These out of the box already look much more robust than the Duke #3's I have. Given that my sets are placed in very cold, at times snow covered areas that are prone to the freeze Cycles here in New England; In addition to using waxed dirt, do you recommend using pan covers for sets in these type of conditions?
I’ve only had bad experience with duke traps but that may be due to the cheap ones that have been available. I do wish this came in dogless. That’s all I like to use.
Fine lookin piece of machinery right there. Animals here are getting bigger; coyote and coy wolves look out and really ones for those light footed lynx eh.!..Great review .
I have MB-550s right now and I love them! I’m planning on selling some of my duke 1 1/2 and upgrading to bigger size. I was thinking about getting more MB’s but I have heard a lot of good things about Dukes 550s...so what would you suggest purchasing? Going after coyote and fox mostly...
MB 550s and the Duke 550s are basically the same trap different pans. But you get Dukes for cheaper. If you have not herd of Trapper J Outdoors go watch some of his videos he uses the 550s in his last like 5 or 6 videos.
Not sure but I know in PA we can only run 6-1/2” outside of jaw. I bought 6 - 650’s but they are 6-3/4” outside. I took a grinder to the trap not set and took off 1/8” on each jaw to get 6-1/2”. They measure on the money. They are great traps.
I'm torn dilks square-jawed number two copies Bridgers now they have a dogless copy Bridger again they makes a Duke 550 copy MB the 650 Duke is the first trap they haven't copied in a long time
First year trapping and I am regretting getting the 650s - these are really big traps and may have good results in coyote dominated properties but I’ve already lost 2 fox to leg breaks with this trap (as a new trapper that is hard to deal with). 550s are probably better in areas with lots of fox and raccoon. 650 seems maybe too big for smaller animals
Duke 650 is NOT the most bulletproof! You need to check out the MB650! no issues catching WOLF with it! that baseplate on the Duke 650 looks weak to me for such a big trap.
This is the only one ever made now how in the hell can u tell about the baseplate lol I have mb also but duke not only caught the competition here ,they passed it. We've been asking for a bigger mb550. That's built like 550! Aka not the 6 or 750 MBs they are different, levers, jaws etc
@@ranchertrapperdieselbuilds3632 I watched this video and saw the baseplate in this video... it looks undersized for the size of the trap in my opinion. I know it's built like a 550 but at the size of a 650... might need to reinforce the baseplate... testing will tell
Yeah have you guys tried simply using an electric fence? Is it really necessary to kill these predators? It’s a genuine question because this practice at least here in Spain is completely illegal because it’s completely unnecessary and can also be set off by people stepping on it, making it also a safety hazard. I’m not a huge animal lover but this is definitely cruel and unnecessary.
Ahhh more management advantage trapping videos YESSSS!!!! been a long wait fellas
Yessir!
MB550's is what you want... cast, offset, night latched already, 4 coil... best out there, promise. No setup needed - ready to use!
sandymush MBs are nice but you get the same trap for cheaper with the Duke 550.evey $ I save the more I can buy.
@@mallorien9 Pay the extra, buy American when possible.

@@ChrisGilliamOffGrid mb550's r made in Taiwan.
This is the trap we’ve been asking MB to make, that Duke finally provided.
Yes they are!
MB has there own 650 and it’s a good coyote and bobcat trap
How are you liking the Duke 650s now that they've been around a while?
Yep be getting some of them I got the 550s got my very first cat with one today but since as you knw only one per permit in Illinois so I’m tagged out. Tight chains fellas!!
Dude your intro is so dope. You earned a sub
Can’t wait to get a dozen of these traps!

Mb dropped the ball not making this trap size and specs years ago.
Minnesota Brand Trapping products 650 is the real deal Hollyfield!!
I hope they are better than the 550,,I've had several get the levers bent up on them.
Duke coped the mb550 but I do like the 650 in it
Do you prefer the duke 650 cast jaws or like the bridger laminated dogless #3?
E coat?
They look sweet👌
Were in the hell have you guys been? Need more how 2 videos keep'um coming.
I’ve you ever had a duke 550 break after several catches
Are y’all using aluminum window screen for pan covers?
Anyone else love this intro
Are you still selling anvil baits?
Yes, but this year's batch is gone.
How do we get on the list for next year?
I’ve only had bad experience with duke traps but that may be due to the cheap ones that have been available. I do wish this came in dogless. That’s all I like to use.

What’s the outside jaw spread?
Wow, that trap looks great! Is that a new design?
what is the reason behind the legality of trap size in some states ?

Someone does make a trap MB-650. MB traps are hands down a million times better than the imported Duke junk.

Really wish it was a 6” inside jaw spread....that’s the max for Arkansas
Yeah they won't work everywhere, but where they're legal they'll be great.
Great trap! Hope to add some to my arsenal!
You'll be glad you did!

There always was an MB-650, ten times better then the junk metal Duke uses.
