    Beautiful piece of machinery. The sleekness and the silver really accentuates the quality and the craftsmanship of this item. You can tell years of engineering went into the creation of that beautiful blade and I will definitely be purchasing one of those knives soon. The marantz is alright too, I guess

    The loudness button is only for listening at very low volume to boost the bass and treble.

    Wow! I didn't realize my PM5005 warranted such dramatic music. :)

    Yes, even modern-day Marantz does something very special to the sound. Smooth balanced rich and detailed. Warm but not overly colored. Powerful and stable sound. Even their AVR's produce spectacular music. Marantz is top-shelf mainstream audio. I've tried them all. Most are too dynamic, mostly aimed at movies. Marantz does both brilliantly. I'm never going back to other brands once I heard what Marantz is capable of doing. :) - By the way, great video! Finally someone who actually shows the inside of the unit! - Just what we want to see!

    That beefy power transformer and hefty filter caps, as well as discrete output devices and good heatsinking means it'll be able to to a good job driving current hungry speakers

    I have been listening to my pm5005 for 6 years in a row using both speaker connections A+B for my Subwoofer, 6+ hours almost daily and not a single issue whatsoever, It's a clever simple design and has lots a ventilation

      @@danielkovacs6407 Hi, those Koshin caps are that bad? If so can be recapped and It won´t cost a fortune,this amp Is not that old, so I don´t think you need to go way further with the recap. just the essentials , I thnk I saw 6800uF @60v, or in that ballpark in the board near the PT, have some ELNA and Nichicon in my stash, 1 year old caps, with similar ratings. I would choose something like 100v caps (the main smoothing ones at least) to have some safety margin. Cheers

    A nice built low budget amp. Small transformator, only 6800 microfarad per channel are resulting in 40 W into 8 Ohms. Not much but more than enough for normal listening. An amp wich should do it's job :-)

    Change the main supply caps with 10 000 uF parts. The power transformer is way too small. But the core parts are ther. A lot of amp for the money..

    • @ramondelgado6778
      @ramondelgado6778 3 роки тому +3

      That's not true. The capacitors in the PM6006 are larger, the aluminum heat sink is much thicker and most importantly, it uses a toroidal transformer vs an iron core. It's WAY better.

    The specifications section in the manual mis-spells damping factor as *dumping* factor :P
    Also, some of these (including mine) seem to have a 110W power consumption rating and others 350W - does anyone know what the deal with that is...?
