I guess there should be something said for effort. Nobody wants a lock mechanism that takes up 20% of the box space even if it is clever it's not practical. You still have much to learn, young one.
@markrichards7713 the mechanism doesnt take up even nearly 20% of the box space, its just a little corner of it id say 10% or less and its not even a bad design. Id ask you to give him a little more credit here

That's a pretty clever lock mechanism. Also, the wooden hinges are a nice touch.
Thanks. I actually had miny brass hinges but I accidentally hit them one the belt sander and destroyed them so I made wooden ones.

Yea I thought the locking mechanism was going to be way bigger. I might go back and fix it.

The full box area is 189 in, and the area of the lock is 14 in, wich comes out to 7.41% of the box.
