- My experiences on the DHR, on a trip organized by Peter Jordan to ride the Indian Narrow Gauge railways. It was a special excursion, our group of 20 were the only people on the train, and we had a wonderful time.

This is a very old video. Now the tracks and sight is more cleaner than the ones it existed 3 to 4 years before.
Thank you for sharing. Eventhough the footage is recent this is still recorded history. Love those wee hard working engines built so many years ago, they remind me of the Fell engines of New Zealand's Rimutaka railway. Good work Peter 😊

Real nice pictures, pity the shaky video parts haven't been cut out, and the sound on/sound off all the time is somewhat irritating. The video could do with some editing. Would just make it better.

It is not beautiful. Rather a joke in the name of heritage. New swanky modern railways should be built that should make Darjeling more accessible by train with less pollution. This train should be placed in a museum.

Yes, but to WHAT? Diesel fumes are invisible but more damaging. Electrification using hydroelectricity is very expensive to build and maintain. Scrapping it and using cars wastes a lot more energy and is less safe. So what options actually are GOOD?
