Beautiful Video of toy train .The little steamlocomotive takes us to the nostalgia and eara when mighty steam locomotives have ruled the entire tracks of Indian Rlys no matter whether its meter gauge or brod .
My ride on in the year 1995, specially for my son, then tenth standard. V memorable and mesmerizing journey through the lovely eco system. I always wish a remarkable operation by Himalayan railway's, Darjeeling , west Bengal.
Much as I like trains I'm not sure how long I'd put up with one running a foot from my front door. This reminds me of a museum I work at in Durham. The pavement is narrow so there's a sign inside the door warning visitors to look out for traffic. Trains though- not such a problem. It's good to see some new footage from you- especially when it is well up to your usual high standard. Looking forward to more from your travels.
It may be small but it is no toy - it serves very real, valuable & necessary commercial & social functions. Narrow gauge is necessary for winding mountainous routes with many sharp bends.
Of course to make transhipment of goods easy, the meter gusge and Narrow guage trains r being eradicated/ Abolished and in their place Broadgusge trains r being placed, but in order to remember and Remind us of old times, in some odd areas and small distance s,the meter gusge lines b allowed to rmain side-by-side the new Broad gusge lines.
This is really a "toy" train! :) At 6:32, we see, at the left if the image, a very high tall and narrow tree that seem father than the closer smaller trees. We see one again, on the right, far away in the fog, at 7:17. Long, narrow with a broader top. Anyone knows what kind of tree that is? An how high it can get? Looks quite impressive!
I always like to go to Google Maps and follow the trains on their routes. I noticed all the Umbrellas at the beginning of this video. And guess what... The Google Map of Darjeeling is completely clouded - so you can't Zoom in.
The steam locos on this line may look shabby and well run down on the outside but. The boilers and working parts are very well maintained. And dispite the
Luke knott For their age they don't look shabby to me at all. I hope they keep them running forever. Or at least long enough for me to travel there and experience them for myself.
+Anjali Joshi India is beautiful country by nature, but the people of India don't take any care of it.I wish England should've not left India, otherwise this country would've been a country of it's kind.

Great work. Keep it up.

great video!!! wow, nice train :)
Lovely video - well made
Coal smoke washes off with rain. Diesel oil grease sticks
on everything for good. If anything the tea will taste like
crude oil since the diesels.
It may be small but it is no toy - it serves very real, valuable & necessary commercial & social functions.

Relics of the past that refuse to die
these locos are amazing because for there size they can haul a lot
And dispite the fact that the locos are around 120 years old, the steam engines on the dhr are said to be more reliable than the diesals.
Luke knott ..Is it still in use those steam locomotives in Darjeeling section
Depends on the job

Considering the invention of locomotive is recent in human civilisation. but even this marvel looks so out of time now but absolute wonder.

0:33 Did you see her kid crying? [Not A Toy Train]
"Toy Train" is the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway's affectionate nick name.
Only wish left journey by toy train ngp to darzeeling or pkt jn to joginder nagar or kalka to shimla
You can say its a narrow gauge train.
Brock Lesnar
2' gauge?
never accident?
This will do away with the problem of Transhipment of goods and passengers, but also keep alive old metergusge lines also.Jay Mataji

+Black Wolf ya wait I went here before oh I went to darjeeling same video
really? "toy train" that thing weighs tonnes
Well we use the 5ft 6inch broad gauge so compared to them they really do look like toys but I do agree that calling them toys is silly
No Club Car, huh?
debito pubblico del Paese è 126,1% e il debito pubblico del nostro paese è 67,59%
One steam locomotive & one Diesel locomotive
and the cylinders are cast in one piece
You know I wonder why the hell they call them toy trains those things weigh 14 tons each
the loco sounds like its about to die.
è per questo che l'Italia era in debito :)
Brockley Leonard
what a mess :)

People in the United States don't know how good their life is. Look at how these people live.
This is a tourist attraction. It's a heritage train. There are perfectly good roads used for daily transport.
This train is used for joy rides.
Transportation by steam loco is a miracle. You just affended me.
