Hi Fam! Glad you guys are enjoying this content. I will bring all the "pockets of excellence" throughout 🇿🇦. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Stay toon!
Joburg needs a lot of renovations. Demolish all abandoned n hijacked buildings. Replace them with new modern glass buildings. Built a Tram system passing through the city. Increase police visibility. Create special zones for street vendors and ban them from operating everywhere.
Glad to see investment into the CBD, I used to live in Braamfontein in civic towers (Stiemens+Biccard Str) while growing up till 2009 when I moved out on my own. My mother used to work at the Art section of the main Library and I used to walk into the CBD quite often as a kid. Seeing the city become more run down always made me sad, I hope more companies can invest into the area.
Johannesburg has a lot of potential if the can demolish old building and municipality take all the hijacked building, regulate tenants per apartment this city can be among the best in the world and I can see they are busy paving, putting security personnel as well as visible metro police but Metro police need to control illigally dumping especially from the street vendors.
Nkuli who's responsible for the economic development portfolio has shared that we gonna see serious changes and new developments coming through too. Some of the hijacked properties are about to sorted out especially Hillbrow and nearby areas.
Oh David I hope the good Lord keeps you around so you can do more videos that will BLOW all our minds as well as the minds of those people who are overseas who might be watching when other skyscrapers are too given a new lease to life in the near future Johannesburg. I believe all South Africans who are in the diaspora who left the country because they couldn't project a better future prospects and those who are just seeking better opportunities, will soon find their back home, only if we get our house in order and build build build, they will come back my friend. Let's not lose hope, South africa is a majestic country.
I read about this redevelopment a few years ago on skyscrapercity. It's nice to finally see the area in a video and the building looks really nice. Thank you for your time exploring these areas. Much love from Oklahoma!
This is what happens when a municipality has the mindset and will to bring about positive and productive change through public- private partnerships- well done to our new mayor and the multiparty coalition government in Johannesburg!!
I just enjoy watching your content about all these redevelopment projects..... This is what we really need for our country NOT all the rot and the drugs.
The apartment is really nice but that kitchen lets it down, more like a kitchenette. The views are stunning and the hope of the CBD being cleaned up and rid of crime is welcomed. I can really imagine myself living there.
If the city can demolish all Abandoned buildings they'll have more space to develop & improve. By the way is the ABSA tower complete or still under construction?🤔
SMALL kitchen, cluttered bathroom with washing machine in it, though nice building amenities. The elephant in the room is the safety of the area. Can you get around safely without a vehicle?
yes m in case you haven't heard there's a massive amounts of private security guards and a permeant deployment of 1500 JMPD officers , 24/7 , and why would such a project take place in what you seem to think is a dangerous area
I can tell this is the best accommodation compared to Cape town where you can pay R9 to 11 000 outskirts 25 to 30 kilometers from Cape town city. Innercity you can pay R17 to 24 000.
@@christopherwalker5017 Projects take place in depressed areas in order to regentrify them. This is fairly common in the US though apparently less so in SA. Anyway, thanks for the info regarding the JMPD presence.
Lately, can nicely whip out your mobile😁 as there are JMPD officers at every corner. No more wig,bag or mobile snatching. However, there were few incidents and culprits hardly ever make it as they get caught within 5mins.I am even enjoying seeing the posts of their hard work within the CBD!!
That can’t even be called a kitchen but the rest of the flat is stunning. Difference with cpt and jhb is that cpt looks pleasing to the eye while jhb just looks gastly. Jhb really needs to change the facades or demolish old buildings and built a couple of new skyscrapers cos that alone won’t attract proper investment and the necessary crowd for jhb cbd to compete with cpt and sandton. Creating pockets of safer areas in jhb still wont be enough to attract young people.
It is so crazy to think that jhb is younger than cape Town but cape Town looks like the youngest city in SA. Can joburg ask cape toen how they manage to renovate their buildings
The thing with cape town is that the city centre is at its central focus while the Joburg CBD is now remote to the size of the city. CT could not afford to have its CBD neglected.
@@philipbanda6637 Not even close to being true. JHB is run by idiots, that's the problem. I can't really call the current bunch a legitimate government.
