Does the boat trailer have brakes ?
Yeah
I have a 2017 G56 dually that I bought new. It's a CCLB. The mega cab just doesn't look good on top of the lack of use for it. Just like you said. Still an awesome setup you have there!
Thanks
Oh my it's a true unicorn. I had a 2014 Laramie 3500 drw with the 6 speed manual. Wish i never got rid of it
Yeah I had a 2011 6 speed and regretted selling it so this one is here to stay. Thanks for watching!
Can anyone confirm that using a big enough boat as a camper to travel to places without water is a thing?
What was the result of your trip? Much swaying?
We've made few trips and so far it's been very successful, no sway.
So you now need a non commercial class A because your over 20k?
Anything under 26k combined weight, you don't need a CDL.
That's a lot of weight on that drive axle, and very little on the steering axle. Do you have air bags on it?
Yeah, the weight is still within the limits of the truck
Wow love it
Thanks!
Nice setup. What’s that truck rated to pull
Thanks! My payload is around 4200 and towing is 14k
That truck will tow a lot more than 14k
Dang those rams have short boxes dude. I haul my arctic fox 811 and tow my boat (much lighter) with my srw Chevy 3500 gas payload 4300#. I put timbrens on and 4500# rims and 4080# tires. It handles it GREAT.
Yeah the mega cabs have pretty short beds but it works. Nice setup, how do you like the timbrens?
@@MikAnda no sway, love it. You guys got a sweet set up. Hello from northern Wisconsin.
That's nice, especially with a srw. Thanks! We're here in North GA. Happy adventures!
Wow that a lot of weight to be hauling and towing. Theirs a lot of tongue weight on the boat I would imagine. Be safe and have a great time in the Keys.
Yea it is a lot of weight, but the truck towed it fine no issue. The tounge weight is around 750 pounds, not that bad. Thanks!
@@MikAnda Awesome, Go Ram/Cummins! Camping and boating in the Keys sounds like a dream trip. Have Fun!
It has definitely spoiled us for other trips! It was awesome! We highly recommend it.
We are also struggling with weight. It's the curse of Truck Campers!
Most definitely. We looked into getting a bigger truck like 5500 but everything is priced so high right now!
Keys is my favorite part of Florida. Was just in Key Largo last month.
We love the Keys. It's so beautiful down there!
COG when empty is behind the axle...not good.
My COG is on the axle
Boa noite !!!!!
