I imagine Ellie must always be the SEEKER in you game. If she hid, all you would have to do is ask, "Where is Ellie?" Her vigorously wagging tail would reveal her hiding place immediately! She clearly loves playing with you.
This is a great concept. Give us a few weeks to see if this is possible

Hahaha!!!! This reminded me of playing hide & seek with my old dog who has since passed away, although I didn't go this extreme. He had a method of finding me. 1st, he used his eyesight. If that didn't work, then he would use his nose. If he still couldn't find me, his last tactic is to cry. He always won. He loved this game which we pretty much played everyday. One time I hid in the walk-in master bedroom closet which is pitch dark without the lights on. I stood in the chair. He kept coming back to the closet to find me. He was literally standing next to the chair but he couln't see me. I busted out laughing because he started crying next to me. He knew I was nearby but he couldn't see me. I still miss him. He was my soulmate. I had adopted him when he was 7 weeks old and he passed away at 14 1/2.

This is adorable! Back in the 90s/early 2000s - hide and Seek was the favorite game of my sister's dog!....I would distract the little guy with a treat or a game of tug-of-war while she would hide and I would then challenge him in an excited voice to go find her...at which point he knew the game was on!!!.....He wasn't always as successful as this beautiful Golden...but he did give it the old college try and we all had loads of fun. Bandit was such a sweet/special dog!!

My favorite dogs are rescue dogs, followed by golden retrievers. Sending Ellie lots of praise and belly rubs.
This is such amazing enrichment for Ellie. You make her life so exciting and intriguing with each new challenge. She's a very bright girl.

I love this! I used to train Working Dogs, including S&Rs, and dogs love having a job, and they love play. What a great way to enrich your relationship and time together! It's interesting how you can see that the slightest wind has picked the scent a bit, and she has to find it as it shifts from air scenting to the ground.

Go Ellie! This brings back some wonderful memories. I used to have two cats and hid & seek was their favorite game. No matter how well I hid (including one time up in the attic) they always found me.
Kids will never grow up, especially those that are adults. They will always have the kid mentality in them.Bravo for being so young and continue having fun.

Oh she COMPLETELY played along with you on the bench. She didn't give you a "EUREKA" moment, she just was like "Oh I wonder where he could be~?" and just went right to him when she was bored.
Don't get me wrong, that just makes it triply as adorable!
You can even have her become a search dog. The ones who find missing people and children. Such a good girl, Ellie!
This is my favorite thing to do with our wire haired terrier. She gets so wound up when she doesn't find you right away.

I thought I was the only one who played hide-and-seek with my (Mum and Dad's) dog. Great fun, and it's good problem-solving for them, too.

Made me laugh! I used to play hide and seek with my dogs. They would get so excited when they found dad!
Play hide with food with my puppy. I hide it all over the kitchen all over the living room and all over the bedroom and all over the bathroom wherever I can find and she will find every single morsel and she knows if there’s another one cause she won’t stop until she finds it. I’ve never had a piece of food not be found, it’s fun and it’s exciting for her. She loves to play hide.
I can see this being turned into a Disney movie where Ellie has to find her family lost in the woods.
She'd be great as one of those dogs that find people lost after an avalanche

I used to play this game also with my dog. Even when walking without a leash. Until I saw him get really concerned and almost ran home :D Called him 10 times before he trusted me and came back. Trauma.
