I'm with you on the whole big company crowdfund kick, but I am seriously thinking about throwing into this one. I would pay $275 for a Dragonfly with Wild Bill off the shelf. Now that it's funded already I might just look at it as a preorder if I toss some money down. My main concern if I do jump on board is space. My brother and I share a residence and collect as a team. He said he'd go in with me on it if I can come up with a decent display option. For now I'm just going to think about that and let the deadline edge closer as I consider everything.
How about a DIY acrylic display (does not have to be a enclosed one, it can be a custom fit of a rectangular clear acrylic piece to support the helicopter belly with two open slots to fit the landing skids) with metal hooks & metal chains (to support the weight) for your room ceiling, it would solve your lack of space for this vehicle.
Hang it from the ceiling. You can figure out a way using thread to tie under the wings on each side like a cradle. Then it's up in the air and sort of out of the way.
If Mattel can give us the Disney Pixar Lightyear Blast & Battle XL-15 (can be modded into a G.I. Joe / Cobra Conquest), Disney Pixar Lightyear Capture & Protect Mission Ship (can be modded into a G.I. Joe S.H.A.R.C.), Disney Pixar Lightyear Test & Crash XL-01 (not sure what it's the equivalent of), WWE Wrekkin' Slam Mobile (red or blue car), and WWE Wrekkin' Slambulance (works as an ambulance, or can be modded into a police van or the G.I. Joe Coyote from Renegades), then Hasbro can give us some 1/12 scale vehicles.
I’m really happy the direction hasbro is taking now. I still don’t agree with crowdfunding, however I can see legitimate effort and creativity in this project.
I just wish that this stuff was pushed in retail. I can’t imagine seeing this at a store as a kid. Sure classified is directed for a more collector audience, but these figures are very playable.
@@nottopgoon5773 Would be kind of cool to see in store, but not to many parents are buying this for their kid at the 150-200 price point and a lot of us would wait for sales and clearence
@@datoad7883that price to kids is probably “Batman money”, don’t think they would push their parents to get them something that expensive if it’s “just a helicopter” to them.
@@datoad7883 It doesn't help that since the 80s, 90's and 00's toy retail has degraded. Toys R Us, Child's World, KB Toys, etc are all gone. Unless Wal-Mart and Target are willing to stock them, and they aren't, this isn't gonna get retail.
@@brettwood1351 Agreed. Those were the good ol days. Sad fact is kids are more into video games and phones. Side note, I never hear anybody mention Childrens Palace. It was as big(size wise) as ToysR Us. Wonder if that was just a regional thing
At least Hasbro is learning. Bringing back the plastic windows, and now this. That wild bill looks great. I dont want to order this because its huge, but it looks so nice. I might have to just buy it.
Really love your videos. I was a cartoon, comic guy when I was younger so I enjoy seeing all the different figures now. Watching these vids makes me really want to start to purchase action figures.
Please tread carefully. Collecting action figures is like turning to the dark side - once you go there, forever will it dominate your destiny! 😂 It's pretty addictive.
Yea, $225.00 would have been nice. And no doubt, the ad-on figures will be heavily re-used from previousreleased figures. . That being said, I'm still on the fence . I'll wait a couple of weeks, and if I can figure out where to display it If that happens, I'll pull the trigger .
Hasbro is gonna milk the crap out of the action figure theme and all of its components. They gonna keep high jacking prices and putting out f-up deals to get the most money out of this dying toy theme for sure. Action figures are bound to disappear. Nowadays, kids are not really into action figures. They are hooked on video games and doing stupidities on social media. As soon as our generation ends, so will action figures and all that comes with it. You could see it! 95% of the time that I go toy-hunting, the people in the toy isles are adults buying toys for themselves. Hotwheels, DC, Marvel Legends, Star Wars, Gijoes, MOTU, etc. all being collected by adults. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 I hope I'm wrong, but it sure looks like the $hit will soon be in the grave. 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
@@el_covfefe - What is "scamerish" about it? It's little mystery at the end of the tunnel. We're going to get them regardless of what they are. I mean the absolute whining on here is laughable, it's $300, not a mortgage. We're getting a 34" helicopter with 4 rare figures that will go for more than the $275. I really just don't get all the crying.
Agreed, imo, should be a $200 - $230 price point. I thought the same about the SkyStriker, $150. The HISS should have been $200 and come with a Towable, such as the ASP or a Twin Gun.
Some of your opinions sound a bit ignorant in this video. For one thing hasbro doesn’t pay a license fee for gi joe. That brings down the price significantly. Marvels chunk on the spirit of vengeance probably accounts for what you think is “hasbro making hasbro look bad”. And at the end of the day the dragonfly at retails would be MUCH more expensive. There’s no way the cost could be reduced without knowing ahead of time how many units are needed. Otherwise hasbro can end up with a significant overage (losing money on unsold stock) or a significant under production which is equivalent to loss of profits as well. Haslabs get in or miss out structure also encourages brand loyalty and increases exclusivity of the product which is good for the brand.
🤣 thanks for sharing I get where your coming from I'm just not gonna defend the biggest toy company in the world crowdfunding and taking no risk on products they know will sell. Oh and I also how much that marvel ip tax is and it doesn't justify the price though to you it may.
Good to hear your thoughts as always. It feels like companies, Hasbro included, are reacting to the recent EOV failure. Except Mattel? I think they missed the mark with the WCW stage thing. You made good points all around. I did think it was sus that they are moving on to the Dragonfly but we have not seen the HISS tank yet. Even if Habro posted something like an early production run version or even, like, the boxes or whatever, that would be nice. I am not sure if I will get a Dragonfly as there are a lot of upcoming purchases for the year, I am sure. Once the Dragonfly figure unlock situation is more known, I will be able to make a decision. I think it would be fitting if they included some version of General Hawk as he is a popular character and an answer for Cobra Commander who was included with the HISS. Man, I hope the next Classified Haslab is a Rattler or a Thunder Machine
Rattler might be too big. I honestly thought we'd get the Thunder Machine, but now I wonder if they will alternate Joe-Cobra on the Haslabs. Thunder Machine also has the benefit of being able to do Drednok variants for the figures.
@@brettwood1351 Yeah, Rattler might be too big. But they did the Sail Barge, so maybe? It makes sense that they would alternate between good guys and bad guys. The next round would probably be Cobra. Maybe a water vehicle like the Moray or Water Moccasin? I don't think either is as interesting as the Thunder Machine. Maybe they will be in the middle of a Dreadnoks rollout by next year, so the Thunder Machine would fit
@@schadenfreudeind Also, if they did a Rattler, they might want to do it in the same scale as the Skystriker. Water Vehicles generally don't seem as popular, and if they do anything there, I think it'd be the Whale, or a Shark. Shark would be a good way to get something like Torpedo or Deep Six, or even Shipwreck variants too.
@@brettwood1351 I agree that water vehicles are a tough sell outside of maybe the Whale? For that same reason, I was sort of surprised that they released Torpedo and Copperhead with the current waves because I didn't think they would be getting into water-based figures yet. Mainly because water-based pieces are tough to display and I doubted they would be doing any water vehicles to support the water figures. But I guess they do need to rotate through the characters and Torpedo and Copperhead are at least solid mid-tier. In my mind, I sort of thought they would try a Cobra water vehicle for the next Haslab and then answer with the Whale the following year. The Whale is huge and is sort of a water and land piece
@@schadenfreudeind Benefit of being a Hovercraft. I remember the Whale, and the Sharc pretty well because they were multi terrain. Whale would also be great because of how much of a troop carrier it is.
valid points about taking more $ before delivering!! I will most likely buy 2 dragonflies, keep 1 & TRADE other for HISS (I lost opportunity to get HISS). Pretty sure they will redeco later into Tiger Fly with Tiger Force Trip Wire (he was on OG box).
The Dragonfly has always been my favorite Joe vehicle. I backed this thing before I even saw all the bells and whistles. I don't like to look at it as crowd funding, but more like made to order, and the company won't make them unless enough orders are placed. Not defending Hasbro at all, just kinda how my brain looks at it. This is the first Haslab I've put money into, and likely the only one. I'm actually in a unique position where this thing isn't actually going to cost me a dime. The place I work, I accrue vacation time, and when it isn't used it expires. Before it expires I can add that time to my paycheck, see where I'm going here?😁 I'm with you on the batplane, Ninja. That big hunk of plastic was not worth the asking price, and I didn't go for it. I can't wait to see what Bobby Vala has in store with the final reveal of his vehicle. It's a great time to be a toy collector, but damn it's getting expensive.
Man the price is too steep for me, but daaaaaamn does this Dragonfly look so good. Honestly I could do without all of the bells and whistles like light up features and smoke effects. Just look at the Hasbro Black Series Snowspeeder and Special Forces Tie Fighter. Those were $150 each and could fit two figures. I know Hasbro is struggling for Shelf space at Brick and Mortar stores, but I think those vehicles were a step in the right direction.
@@ArticulatedNinja Yeah. But since this is a Haslab, I think they figure they should put those Bells and Whistles in. 300$ is my Cutoff on anything like this, and I'm a Transformers guy, so I won't be backing this, but in terms of value this, and the Hiss blew the Engine of Vengence out of the water. When I first saw that things price, I assumed it was Die-Cast or something.
I suspect that one reason why Hasbro is pushing the Dragonfly campaign before the HISS Tank ships might be for logistics. If both products are coming from the same assembly line in the same factory, waiting until the HISS Tank ships means that there will be significant downtime where Hasbro either pays the factory workers to do nothing or loses their factory allocation to some other product line or company.
Your straightforward insight is always appreciated. I'm still on the fence, due to the size, and the HISS Tank Haslab still being unproven has been rolling around in my mind as well. That being said, bothe the copter and the figure design are very impressive.
The Ninja has spoken! I'm with you on this, Price is not too far off but yeah, hasbro crowdfunding is like a rich dude with a cardboard sign asking for change. Cant wait to see it tho
The wait for the Hiss reminds me of something a friend of mine called “the firework effect”, basically if you see a firework shoot into the sky, you get excited, and when it pops, you’ll be eager for the next firework, but if it doesn’t pop and just stays there, and they shoot another one, and another, and then your waiting for it to pop, it’s a lot harder to be excited each time another one launches.
Very based reasoning on the HasLab project. I didn’t back the Hiss because it seemed over-engineered, and full of stuff it didn’t need. The DragonFly is sick looking, and the additional parts make sense. It’s also much more valuable with the price. The base offering is good. It really GIT good if you add the obviously gonna hit tiers with the extra figures. Now you got $100 in figures, and a $175, 32 damn inch Helicopter. Peace ❤
I was glad to hear your thoughts on this. As for my thoughts: I think it looks great, love that it kept that classic look the original had, I like the various armament options it can be displayed with, it just looks impressive to me. What I don’t like are the same as yours, that it’s a crowdfunded item, the fact that it’s a army builder type vehicle, and I personally wish it would’ve been a little cheaper (like $249.99 as the small print said at first).
“The word for today boys and girls, is, ANTICIPATION” 😂Been waiting for your take since yesterday homie!! But I’m super hype for this bad boy just like i am for the H.I.S.S. Tank!!!🔥🔥
Spot on with the HISS Tank thing. I'm okay with this chopper's price (it could be lower, but I can accept $275), but the fact that the HISS Tank isn't out yet means I can't trust the product itself. But with there being a limited window to get this, it feels like Hasbro is really playing on that FOMO. I know it's probably because they want to do a new Haslab within a specific time frame, but that doesn't change how it sucks for *us,* the consumer.
Articulated!!!! NINJA!!!! again just love your content and you hot that nail on the head with everything you say. It really would be nice if they at least gave us an update on the Hiss Tank or even better we should at least have it in hand before they put another Haslab in our face. Anyway thanks for your thoughts I appreciate you .
Seeing their QC especially as of late, I can't believe how ready people are to jump on this thing especially with nothing to compare it to, (The Hiss Tank). I love Wild Bill (One of my favorite Joes), and I had a hand me down Dragonfly from an older cousin. One thing I remember clearly is how dissapinted and sad I was when my Dragonfly broke. I can't wrap my mind around how people justify $275 for a plastic vehicle made by a company that has a track record of bad QC and quality (Even worse as of the last couple of waves). Do I love how it looks? Absolutely, but just like the crap Grid Iron Studios makes. You can polish a turd, make it shiny and pretty, and sculpt it however you'd like, but its still a turd and when it breaks, good luck getting your money back or a replacement.
Hi Ninja! As always, love your videos! Im disappointed i will not get a chance to meet you this year at ValaCon....my time off fell through. Just wanted to say thanks for your great content!
Honestly, I feel, no company is making any other company look bad. It's just us collectors that come with these assumptions. $60 Batmobile was good but it was not accurate to scale and also color and structure wise. If Todd made it more accurate for 120 too that would have sold like hot cakes. I feel your point that Dragonfly can be 220 or 230 ish... but also consider that big companies have big margins too. If you do custom helicopter at that scale and details without the figure too, it goes beyond $500 easy. So am kind of fine with the pricing of 1/12 vehicles around $250. The individual views can differ, but if we all compare with options around then that's a fair debate.
I am sorry @Articulated Ninja but this project could not be a retail release. There are only two retailers left in the game and NEITHER one of their corporate buying teams would have bought this item from a DEAD brand. Realize please that to retailers GI Joe is a dead brand the day that they announced that all support for that video game was stopped. There is no movie, game, show, or cartoon for this brand. There is no reason a corporate buyer for Wal-Mart or Target would even consider buying this product. I have worked inside one of these retailers and had a relative retire from the other believe me the stories I could tell you about how their practices are more responsible for all our gripes as toy collectors, would astound and baffle you. It is their ordering and inventory systems themselves that cause these distribution issues, and the worst part is they will never change it or do anything about it, for they feel it is what has kept them in business while everyone else is closing. I still sent that DM through Facebook if you ever want to hear any of the stories about how bad the retail system is truly.
At the very least, it feels like they actually care about them in a way they didn't on some the Star Wars and the EoV. Skystriker starts struggling, here's two more figures and cobra stickers, not an unlock, part the base. Hiss has a dissappointing second tier? Well look at Tier 3, also this all new Cobra Commander and all his stuff we were always totally planning to put in with this for tier 4!
Thank you for validating what I was thinking. I did order the HISS Tank and I wish I had that in hand to see the quality before they offered another project. I'm torn on whether or not to order it.
I'm used to waiting on figures. Mythic Legions does the same you'll be waiting on one wave and then they release more figures to order before you get the initial order fulfilled. I'm stoked for the Hiss and the Dragonfly.
I had to think about it for a bit. Came down to 2 factors 1. Price while so much better priced than the EOV it’s still too high. Even with the perceived value of the extras. 2. Size (that’s what she said). I actually had a 1:18 scale Blackhawk that was nearly the size of this thing and it was a nuisance to say the least. While it held 12 figures (not including the pilot and co pilot mind you) it was a pain to display and I eventually sold it. I already know the issues with a vehicle this big and would rather avoid them. Don’t worry. Just because I comment doesn’t mean I care 😂😂😂
I backed it. I’m not familiar with a lot of toy lines, but after you sell the figures, the dragonfly is about $100 including shipping. I would think that’s very competitive to other vehicles of its size
I know what you’re trying to say. I understand it. “HISS tank not in our hands before this” But the HISS tank being out or not is completely irrelevant to those that didn’t back it/want it. I’m sure there’s people that want this and not the HISS. So the sooner they get this funded, the sooner the ones who want the helicopter will be made.
I didn't back the hiss tank and it's not irrelevant to me because overall it sucks people don't have product 1 before the company tries to sell product 2 basic premise. It's cool though.
In fairness, there's no licensing fees for the Engine of Vengeance, but I damn sure don't want to relitigate that whole thing. They don't deliver the previous Haslab before the next Haslab. On any Haslab.
@@wayigotitfigured9800 If that happens, and especially if we get reviews, before the Dragonfly finishes funding, it could really boost the project. Unless they ****ed up the QC or something.
You've carved out an interesting niche for yourself, this whole value discussion thing. It's sort of become your calling card. I guess it is a good thing that the only thing you really had to complain about was the overlapping nature of the crowdfunds, which I personally don't consider a problem when you know the company producing this product and they have a glowing track record. But you do you, which is subtle shade at anything that isn't action force
So, does the $275 include the 4 figures or just Wild Bill? When I saw the Hasbro unboxing it seemed like 4 figures came with the chopper. $275 for an awesome helicopter and 1 figure is steep but an awesome helicopter with 4 figures for $275 is a decent deal. It's still hard wrapping my mind around the idea of spending $300 on an actual toy but it looks tremendous.
@@Mcgriffin67Well, actually those figures are listed and included with the dragonfly. They are part of the unlocked tiers that the campaign collected when it surpassed 19000 backers. It's true that Wild Bill was the initial offering, but the campaign was able to surpass the expectative.
It's only at 1/4 figures at the moment and in order for me to justify the price with the exchange rate, taxes and duty for us Canadians... i'm going to need to see more value for that price point. All figures unlocked minimum and I'm interested.
I think the dragonfly is pretty nice. I'm not getting it, but I think they managed to follow up the HISS pretty well. I'd just rather spend that money on that vehicle from Vala maybe, and I want that HISS in hand before I get back on the haslab train.
Another great video Ninja!! The Dragonfly looks awesome but I don't really have the space for a 2 1/2 ft vehicle so I won't be backing but if I had the space I'd be tempted. Glad to see it's coming with Wild Bill. My only small gripe with him is he doesn't come with a hat without the hairline.
I'm calling $149 for the Vanguard. Fair point ninja on them rolling this out before the HISS shipped. That's not cool. I am guessing the HISS ships after this closes just in case there are QC issues.
Good video. This Dragonfly looks good and is cheaper than I thought it would be. I still won't be getting it as I don't do any crowd funding. I am fine with missing out. It saves me money.
I really think that Hasbro would get a lot of good feedback if they were to be completely transparent and explain what went into the exorbitant cost of the Ghost Rider car.
🎉 @Articulated Ninja Reviews thanks for being one of several peeps to apply feedback and pushback. You are part of why we have operation "get some get right" going on with this and other offerings coming out from now on from several companies. Y'all have helped them read the room way more accurately and to get off the bullshucks for now. Keep doing your thing with the videos and commentary. I will be enjoying this and other offerings largely because of you and others efforts. I've commented support for good pricing and value and will keep doing so. Looking forward to the Valaverse Rezvani vehicle now. Astral young inner Skew is pleased and says thanks fam to you and community. 🍻 Peace and Blessings 💯
I'll admit I'm impressed with this. It looks amazing and as a kid I had the original. But this is the ultimate one compared to the original. I dont have an interest in purchasing it, but it seems Hasbro is actually trying with this. The unlock tiers I think are a tad too high. The price should be for all 4 figures included...???
Star Wars Vintage Collection Jabba's Palace is $262 (after shipping) and it's not even a Haslab, it's a display piece. Rumor has it, SWVC Haslab will be around $600 this year. You guys are lucky!
I'm waiting to see what the Transformers Haslab is gonna be this year. It's gonna be for the 40th. I've seen people speculate Devastator, but I'm not gonna be able to afford something like a 400$ to 600$ Devastator in one go. And honestly they could do the Constructicons individually in Studio Series, as they were prominant in the 86 movie.
I had the exact same thought man. Where is the Hiss? I did not order a Hiss as the price point was way more than I would ever pay for a tank I had no love for in the original line. Never liked the og design. But the fact this new Haslab dropped before their last Classified has shipped raised all sorts of red flags for me. I really want the Dragonfly. It's a perfect representation and a great course correction, but I'm still on the fence about giving that kind of money when the qc is still unknown for the Hiss offering. I dunno, I may be a last minute shopper on this, or it could be a pass.
I still think that the Ghostbusters Plasma series Spengler's proton pack is the greatest haslab project they had. They sold something, that if you wanted a life size replica of at the time, for way cheaper than usual, added features after it was backed, and showed a colored prototype straight away.
I had to pass on the Skystriker and HISS tank because they were offered just too close to Christmas time, I think this is a great move to make it during the summer when there's much less strain on the bank account. As such, I will def be getting this.
Skystriker also suffered from them running THREE Haslabs at once. The Rancor failed, because after the EoV it was one the worst offerings, but the Proton Pack apparently was a good value for what it is. I don't know what they were thinking though running that many at that time. The Proton Pack at least needed to be done when the movie was in people's minds, but I don't know why the pushed the Skystriker and the Rancor then.
Thank you for the episode of Mr. Ninja's neighborhood. I'm so glad I don't have the space for vehicles. That choppa does look nice. My wallet is safe this week.
Take aways are that Hasbro got this funded for first level because it's a desired army builder. It has lights and a moving rotor. It has a stand. It has good looking features for the whole thing. A working winch. Customizable payloads. And the Wild Bill looks good. The next three tiers are just figures but it will remain to be seen whether three figures is enough to drive past their tier goals. For anyone that bought in, be happy for them. The usual rife and strife will still ensue. I do think the parts count for how many things move and require assembly on the line equate to what they're asking for it. I'm just waiting for someone to attach a drone somehow to it to make it truly fly.
This looks great but I didn't back it... Congrats to you and everyone else who getting it but like you said in the vid I just can't get behind a mega company holding my money that long and knowing they don't need crowd funding ....But yeah peace and happiness to all ☺✨
Thank you for your opinion. This does look great and I do like some of the Joe figures. I kinda would like to get this but honestly I already have 3 titan class Transformers with a 4th on the way. I am just not into GI Joe enough to warrant the chopper in my collection. Not if they bring out one of the smaller vehicles I might be interesting is those.
I was just comparing the numbers. In the last 17 hours (as of this posting), the backers went up 33... from 16,630 to 16,663. It's progressing, but very slowly.
Thanks for your video Articulated Ninja. You raised a very good subject on the topic of price. Hasbro really does shoot itself in its feet. If the Marvel Legends Haslab is to be Avengers oriented - just what could Hasbro make at a comparable price?
The two big figures that really needed to be done for Marvel Legends were The Sentinel and Galactus. Beyond that I'd say a Giant Man might be appealing, and Fing Fang Foom could come out great. But I think they'll go with a vehicle like the Quinjet.
@@brettwood1351 if this was 2022 I would be down 100% that a Quinjet would be the next candidate. However this year I am unsure if a vehicle will be offered.
@@JayWoods483 I'm not a ML guy personally, so it doesn't matter to me. But a Fing Fang Foom, especially if they properly articulated the neck and Wings, is what I think would be coolest looking. You can use some Iron Man's specialty armors as the stretch figures.
Man… my fav part of the presentation was “ I really wish we had a HISS at hand to show you the size difference” 🤔what?! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 it is what I like to call “ symptoms of a shitty desease “ and it is sad that they showed off something at this price that with 4 figures, like you said, shows they can do a price closer to decent than what they’ve done so far, they can still make it cheaper ! And that is what bothered me the most from this, that they are waving in our face that they can do better and they keep doing they selfish shit. You’re telling me this couldn’t have been $200 ? With the amount of orders they would have gotten for $200, they would have been able to hire Bradley cooper and Melissa McCarthy to do the next presentation !
One thing i never see mentioned...its a one time release. Only available for a month and a half. The day the funding ends, the value already sky rockets
What this shows is that Hasbro CAN deliver when they want, which makes it more imperative that people call it out when they don't. This might be the first Haslab project I get (I do regret not getting Unicron and the Sentinel but not the others), depending on how bad the Australia Tax is. I hate that Hasbro are crowdfunding but if they are too cowardly/risk averse to put a Dragonfly into retail stores then I'd rather have it crowdfunded than not at all
Hi Ninja, you make a very important point about the Hiss Tank. Where is ist?! And at the price it sold it better be premium quality plastics all around. Having said that, you should seriously consider getting this one. And again you are right, it should have been available at retail, for a more realistic price but what you gonna do.
The vehicle looks great and when I consider all the items that come with it as well as the four figures it makes it easy to back. Like the HISS tank, this is an easy call.
If Hasbro quality were actually reliable, I might consider this. I just don't trust what they're going to send out with their track record on cost cutting. Also, you gotta consider your end game on 6" GI Joe. The 3.75 collection takes up massive space. Am I just going to have a duplicate collection at twice the size? Gotta draw a line somewhere.
Ninja! Ninja! Ninja! I was waiting on your take on this HASLAB. I've been listening to content creators and influencers who've spoken about this. Let me begin by saying you're right. They're asking for another HASLAB but haven't delivered on the HISS tank. I have my reservations about HASLAB but I've gotta be honest. HASBRO swung for the fences and connected with this Dragonfly. Sadly, it's not a home run. I'll call it a solid triple. The offering is solid and the load out is outstanding. The price however? Hmmmmmmmm 🤔🤔🤔🤔 $275 for a fully armed, 3ft helicopter (top, bottom, and middle) with lights and effects vs. a $350 car for half the size and 1 figure. This just proves that HASLABs can be cheaper if the want them to be. But since collectors have shown that we're willing to pay, they don't have to be cheaper. 10K backers in around 30 hours. This thing is going to reach all the stretch goals and to be honest, I can see the value in this (including the 4 unlockable tiers). HASBRO might get my 💵💵💵💵💵 for this one.
Man you really got into the real deal here. I’m with you hasbro shouldn’t crowdfund on this type of vehicles it’s just a way to lose less money I guess btw love your singing it’s relaxing bro
This Dragonfly is a home run! I'm sure it'll get backed to the 4 figure level, which brings it at least $100 in value, plus all the ordnance and blast effects. I guess it's kidney sellin' time! With this and Vala's Rezvani you got quite a set of vehicles! I'm starting to smell a hint of the '80s in the air..
At about the 5 minute mark my daugher started watching this with me and asked if it was dubbed and it kind of does seem like you are doing the voices for the haslab presenters 😂
Like the HISS tank, I would like this a lot more if they included parts that would make it accommodate 3.75” figures. It’s huge, but still too small to be a proper 6” scale helicopter.
Speaking of Hasbro making Hasbro look bad, and the getting the previous one out first, with the Transformers, Victory Saber started hitting right during Deathsaurus funding, and that was definitly intentional. Even if you didn't get yours that quickly, you had all the reviewers that did. I imagine they wanted to get this one out for the 4th of July boost.
It's a great toy. I wish it wasn't a crowd funded toy by a billion dollar company. It really is a great toy. Just, wish it wasn't a crowd funded project.
Even as a child in the 80's, I was never a huge Wild Bill fan. That being said, what sold me on this Haslab was the size and stand. Since I do have a huge display of 80's, 25th & 50th anniversary, and Classified, I do believe that the size and stand just brings everything's together. Hopefully, all the tiers will be unlocked. I have always found the character Wild Bill 🤢. Not a fan of the Ripcord character either, but that figure looks nice. Im crossing my fingers that one of those unlockable tiers will be Quick Kick and/or Alpine.
"Sometimes I just miss the world before the internet". Me too man, me too.
Do it. This is awesome.
@@kingvagar if you find one please let me know. I’d purchase one.
You are right, Hasbro is the biggest enemy of Hasbro. Even that 275 is a fair price, they could do it for less and still make a ton of money.
Even if they sell 20k, after cost, Hasbro is only going to pull a million or two in profit. I want them to make money so the line continues.
@@TheBigBigSean that's why I feel the tiers are scamish. You know the figures are paid for already
Before it expires I can add that time to my paycheck, see where I'm going here?😁
I'm with you on the batplane, Ninja. That big hunk of plastic was not worth the asking price, and I didn't go for it. I can't wait to see what Bobby Vala has in store with the final reveal of his vehicle. It's a great time to be a toy collector, but damn it's getting expensive.
I ordered one too man. It looks sic as f.
I feel the same way. I don’t have to worry about the local store not getting it or selling out.
I agree you leave out the bells and whistles easy 140 or less
@@ArticulatedNinja Yeah. But since this is a Haslab, I think they figure they should put those Bells and Whistles in. 300$ is my Cutoff on anything like this, and I'm a Transformers guy, so I won't be backing this, but in terms of value this, and the Hiss blew the Engine of Vengence out of the water. When I first saw that things price, I assumed it was Die-Cast or something.
Even when Hasbro puts out decent value you guys still arent happy
@@patientmental875 Who said I wasn't happy? I said it looked awesome, the price is just too much for me personally.
@@patientmental875 Personally I've got to stop and remind myself of how much inflation is a thing sometimes.
I haven't been able to pull the trigger on any HasLab yet but this one... this one I need.
What worries me about this is Hasbro getting used to sell vehicles bigger than a motorcycle or equivalent only via Haslab.
2:07 yes it's important to mention the "engine of vengeance" often so we are reminded of that fiasco and laugh at "Rancor Reyes" 😁
Robbie no!! 🤣
I backed the Hisstank and this Dragonfly was instant back.
I like, I comment, and then I begin watching. Always nice to have this level of confidence.
🙏🏽 thank you
Question though, isn't the Ramen Toys car still high for the price, with no figures?
Peace ❤
Id rather not have the stand or blast effects and have it cheaper. Those should be their own add-ons. And each figure unlock should be its own add-on.
“Over-engineered”? Seriously? That a ridiculous argument.
Haslab looks great on concepts but ridiculously on price.
Tank!!!🔥🔥
🤣 thanks man 🙏🏽 I appreciate it
Spot on with the HISS Tank thing.
I’m in for at least 2. Wild Bill was one of my favorite joes.
Hi Ninja! As always, love your videos! Im disappointed i will not get a chance to meet you this year at ValaCon....my time off fell through. Just wanted to say thanks for your great content!
Next year Matt no worries thank you for the positivity 🙏🏽
I backed this and the Hisstank. I think the Joe team has been knocking it out of the park when it comes to these haslabs.
I have to be real. I agree with you
At the very least, it feels like they actually care about them in a way they didn't on some the Star Wars and the EoV.
This chopper should have been around 160 bucks
I Miss Toybiz
As always great video. So much talent in 1 person is crazy
I'm used to waiting on figures. Mythic Legions does the same you'll be waiting on one wave and then they release more figures to order before you get the initial order fulfilled. I'm stoked for the Hiss and the Dragonfly.
It needed a tail rotar.
I had to think about it for a bit. Came down to 2 factors
Yeah dude. Original OP. I want a HISS tank so frakin bad.
In fairness, there's no licensing fees for the Engine of Vengeance, but I damn sure don't want to relitigate that whole thing. They don't deliver the previous Haslab before the next Haslab. On any Haslab.
Honestly the best time is right as the previous one is coming out, or is just coming out, so you are riding the high from that.
@@brettwood1351 Pretty sure backers will be getting emails before the month is out for the HISS.
Yeah it does include 4 figures
@@alejandrocartagenaalgarra1509 I don't think so. I'm looking at the items included and they only list Wild Bill.
@@Mcgriffin67Well, actually those figures are listed and included with the dragonfly. They are part of the unlocked tiers that the campaign collected when it surpassed 19000 backers. It's true that Wild Bill was the initial offering, but the campaign was able to surpass the expectative.
@@alejandrocartagenaalgarra1509 ok, I see it. I'm new to collecting and this Haslab thing is a bit bizarre.

Hang it.
@@brushstroke3733 lol I know I can hang it but I like to have my figures on shelves in a display

I'm calling $149 for the Vanguard. Fair point ninja on them rolling this out before the HISS shipped. That's not cool. I am guessing the HISS ships after this closes just in case there are QC issues.
My guess was always around the 180 mark based on what others are doing but hopefully we ll see.
Good video. This Dragonfly looks good and is cheaper than I thought it would be. I still won't be getting it as I don't do any crowd funding. I am fine with missing out. It saves me money.
And space 😁
Great insight! I’m still undecided but leaning toward backing it.
I really think that Hasbro would get a lot of good feedback if they were to be completely transparent and explain what went into the exorbitant cost of the Ghost Rider car.
🤣😁 car wasn't even licensed they cant because they don't want to admit it was mainly greed.
It really seems like all the different franchises at Hasbro function as competing companies instead of being part of the same company.
Spot on as per usual! Keep doing what you do!
We don't even have a chance to get in on this here in Australia even if we wanted to...Great video brother!
I still think that the Ghostbusters Plasma series Spengler's proton pack is the greatest haslab project they had. They sold something, that if you wanted a life size replica of at the time, for way cheaper than usual, added features after it was backed, and showed a colored prototype straight away.
It may be impossible but I'd love to see Valaverse price the truck at somethin nutty like 100-120 and blow the shit out of competitor prices.
All credits go to Mr Rogers?
I really like Wild Bill and the Dragonfly looks good, but I'm saving my moolah for the Valaverse Vanguard.😊
100% agree, this project is a steal at that price, if it reaches the final stage that's over $100 worth of figures included
Very true 200 is close that 40 off price I would of been amazed with 200 or 210 would of easily been achievable but not max profitable for them.
The first tier is a new head on wild bills body, I want an exclusive, that is not, or going to be, repainted.
I hate that Hasbro are crowdfunding but if they are too cowardly/risk averse to put a Dragonfly into retail stores then I'd rather have it crowdfunded than not at all
What figure line are those female figures from?
Thumb ups for Mr Rodger
Jut like some Kickstarter/Indiegogo comics creators that have multiple comics funding before a finished product is shipped months+ behind.
Ninja! Ninja! Hmmmmmmmm 🤔🤔🤔🤔
$275 for a fully armed, 3ft helicopter (top, bottom, and middle) with lights and effects vs. a $350 car for half the size and 1 figure.
Don’t wait too long on it man. Let’s get it all unlocked.
Man you really got into the real deal here. I’m with you hasbro shouldn’t crowdfund on this type of vehicles it’s just a way to lose less money I guess btw love your singing it’s relaxing bro
I was surprised it was backed so quickly, Yo Joe I guess
I do think it is a bit high but I love the design, figures and accessories
It's a great toy. I wish it wasn't a crowd funded toy by a billion dollar company. It really is a great toy. Just, wish it wasn't a crowd funded project.
With 4 figures, if they get unlocked, at $24.99 each retail. You are paying $175 for the dragonfly.
Lets see if the Marvel Legends team learns from their recent failure and comes out with a bang with their next haslab project
Man speak your truth. If Hasbro was truly for the collector's. This prices are crazy.
This could have been a timed release at lower price at Pulse only
I do agree with you on the McFarlane stuff. Why'd he have have the Batmobile at $60 and the Batwing at 250? Like whahhh????
