@@helent6092more than my pleasure, neither I, nor long term raw food and fitness coach’s like Dr Graham that have worked specifically with new and high level athletes of all ages and genders. Other long term coaches like Dr Rick Dina who run blood work and labs all the time also have not found this to be the case. I have talked with Dr Areli on this numerous times and she doesn’t feel you have to, but feels that it has helped her for her personal training. While there are many ways to get more protein and stay raw I do not agree that it’s a concern in the context of an abundant raw diet rich in fruits, veggies and some seeds. Hope this helps.

    Hey Chris,
First thing I wanted to praise is your kindness and care for other beings. I have been feeling this attitude from you anytime I watch one of your videos.
Myself, I am on the skinny side of raw veganism and I have kept myself on juicing and fasting because of my beliefs in mucoid plaque. From another video you posted, I got to remember you don't believe in mucoid plaque. So would you say the way to gain weight is only about eating more? So detox needed? And if so, it's still while keeping fats below 10%?
Thank you for this interview, especially the black/white or judgement we might have on the diet. I think we should relax ourselves with what we eat as raw vegans.
    Take care,
    Anthony

Awwww all such a honour and pleasure, thank you for the connection and love shared brother🤗🙏🏼
For clarity I would actually say I know that mucoid plaque doesn’t exist, rather than say I believe, a interesting subject I’ve casually studied for nearly 20 years and am very confident in. Your spot on with weight gain, barring severe malabsorption issues / purging, eating calories in excess of your needs leads to weight gain, if your pushing yourself it’s muscle if not then fat.
All in it’s time and place, a helpful point of clarity is knowing that we are always detoxing, while it’s more aggressive when fasting or under eating, in most cases there is no need to make a race out of it. Slow and steady wins the race anyways as the saying goes ahah
Happy to hear the bit on judgement connects, a true game changer 🤗
Reach out anytime, wishing you much PeaceLovenSeasonalFruit ck 🙏🏼

@@TheRawAdvantage Hey Chris! Thank you for your reply.
Could I ask you to share with me the way you came to your conclusion about mucoid plaque? I know some say it's built upon the mixture of clay and psyllium used in detox.
On my side, I concluded the contrary based on some facts: 1) I removed this snake waste on a juice fast while never consumed clay or psyllium husk in my life (where would that come then?), 2) some people confirm having removed same waste and change their eye color after ingesting Zencleanz products (why would color changes if that wouldnt be there for long time?), 3) some other people (Jeff Juices, which I assume very honnest) removed some on a water fast which was confirmed by Loren Lockman.
I am not saying I hold the truth :) that's why I ask you if you could give me more insights. Because the path I am following might be wrong and I look for extra evidence.
Another question, if you don't mind: if there is no such waste in the intestines, why would we follow this raw vegan lifestyle? I guess other wastes are created elsewhere in the body (liver, kidneys, lymph,...).
When you say to increase the daily consumption... Do you keep the fats and proteins below 10%? Or do you go crazy and eat 10 avocadoes? Haha
      Much love!

    • @TheRawAdvantage
      @TheRawAdvantage  Рік тому +2

@anthonyguiot1927 more than my pleasure. I am coming out with a in depth video on this subject that I’ve been slowly working on over the last few years. I have interviews with very knowledgeable raw vegan doctors, two fasting practitioners (one of which did tests on what comes out) and one who was a part of over 200 autopsies of very sick individuals. I’ve also talked with near a dozen other doctors, some of whom do surgery on the digestive tract for a living, all of which are very clear.
Indeed “stuff” comes out but it’s not old wastes except in the case of diverticulitis which is a different phenomenon. These wastes come out at differing rates no matter what we eat, or don’t eat and are made up of a variety of components that I will go much more into in the video along with the history of mucoid plaque and more.
Most people and practitioners that promote mucoid plaque simply share what they have learnt and see coming out but do not actually understand what is happening, beyond this the theory supports a narrative and successful shocking and fear based business model that is easier to convince people on and sell than simply applying the principles of health and health creation.
To me the purpose of following a raw food lifestyle is to feel and perform my best, to be congruent with our / comparative biology, physiology / natures design, to live in a compassionate way that’s better for the animals and environment, as well as simply because it works the best and the more you research the more it makes sense.
I have found the best results eating a 80/10/10 style approach, with the view being over the week month and year. Any given day or even season I may go over a bit in fat but over the week month and year it all averages out to 80/10/10. Fruits predominate my calories, I eat lots of greens and veggies and focus primarily on balanced fats in smaller quantities.
I feel really blessed to have learnt in depth from over a dozen multiple decade long raw food doctors, health/ fasting practitioners and speakers over the last two decades, including mentorship and a school setting. This has helped bring extra clarity on a wide range of topics, dispel common misinformation and streamline long term results.
Hope this helps a bit, let me know n also know that I’m always down to connect more via a donation consult with no set amount or timing of donations.🙏🏼

      @@TheRawAdvantage Hey Chris!
Wow, your research sounds heavy. I am looking forward to watch your video. That's probably gonna one of the most insightful video any raw vegan has made... You know, something different that "what I eat in a day", or "why I am raw vegan",... Haha. When would you plan to release it?
About the business upon mucoid plaque, I cannot agree more with you. While companies have tried to sell colon cleanses for years, apparently fresh raw vegan youtubers (I can even say "gurus") promote their services for juice fasting support haha. That's insane. What is sad in there is that the audience of such services/products is made from people who are sick and suffer and who would pay and believe anything so to heal.
Again, I appreciate you Chris, for your gentleness and openness to share. And yes, I might book someday a consult with you. Some topics I could discuss would: work out. I could have mentionned: mucoid plaque but apparently your video is gonna be a bomb.
      Much love!

      @TheRawAdvantage  Рік тому

      Thanks brother, much love back!
It’s been long percolated, don’t have a exact release as other projects have put it on the back burner time and time again but it is coming for sure.
I’d like to clarify too that most fully believe in mucoid plaque and promote what they feel is accurate information, that simply by its nature easier to sell on, but indeed it doesn’t make it true and does pull from desperate people looking for a quick fix.
I hope to dispel much of this and shine a light on more accurate info to help people embrace a healthy lifestyle.
Always stoked to connect, thanks for the positivity and encouragement 🙏🏼

Hello I stumbled across this video, which I really enjoyed, wonderful back and forth dialogue, very smooth.
I’m curious when you were rebuilding lean mass after your accident (I saw another video of how you stunned you’re doctors and the speed at which you recovered from that, cheers 🎉) during that time did your macro ratios change, specifically more fat/protein?
I’m trying to gain lean mass and experimenting with just how much is needed to effectively/efficiently help this process along with the work.
Protein and fat come in the same package in raw food, chia/flax/nuts etc. So you actually raise one along with the other.
But id be grateful to know if you noticed as you trained craving or naturally eating more fat/protein in your daily nutrition during that phase to get to 200.
I’d love to have any edge in gaining mass, I’m a women about to be 41 and I can do more pull ups now than ever, making strength gains in dead lifts and just starting out with calisthenics for better longevity and functional type training.
80/10/10 is quite low fat/protein but could strength/mass gains be left on the table by restricting fat/protein in this case?
And if so, how much could be a benefit in these strength aims? The mainstream says vegans need 2 grams / pound of weight to gain lean mass - that would be 260 for me 😮.
Maybe not that much - but perhaps somewhere around 60/20/20? There could be a benefit?
Appreciate how sound and logical and not “guru-y” you are in how you educate, thank you! 💗

    • @TheRawAdvantage
      @TheRawAdvantage  3 місяці тому +1

I really appreciate the feedback and connection! Honestly, I didn’t focus too much on protein or fat specifically-I just ate a greater total volume overall to meet my calorie needs, which also provided the necessary micro and macronutrients for growth and repair. From my experience, our ratios don’t necessarily need to change. As energy expenditure increases, so do our calorie requirements, which naturally leads to a higher intake of fat and protein without needing to adjust the ratios.
That said, I don’t strictly aim to stay under 10% fat every single day. Instead, I maintain a flexible ratio that can range between 7-20% on occasion, but typically averages between 7-15%. Dr. Graham has mentioned that when he developed 80/10/10, it primarily accounted for overt fats-like nuts, seeds, and avocados. When you factor in covert fats found in all foods, staying between 7-15% overall still aligns with the framework.
In my personal experience-and in discussions with others on this path, such as Ted Carr, Dr. Graham, and a few female bodybuilders (check out my interview with Resinka Lee)-the prevailing idea of needing high levels of protein is largely overrated, especially within the context of a fruit-based raw diet. I do think that for absolute maximal muscle growth, a bit more focus on protein might help, but the difference between “maximal” and what I’ve achieved seems, in my opinion, fairly minimal.
Either way, the key is to ensure you’re getting enough calories first. From there, you can experiment with adding foods like lentil sprouts, a little more hemp, or increasing greens to see how your body responds. For example, I’ve quite rarely gone over 100 grams of protein on any given day, more often between 65-80 grams which would be considered low for my size and activity level, yet I’ve still experienced muscle growth at the upper limits of what’s considered possible naturally and easily maintain it. Hope this helps and thanks again for the feedback, always happy to connect and fine tune if I can be of service.

As a vegan, I agree. I think raw veganism could work and or have worked in the past (I believe so)... there are many roots and tubers humans could eat raw allegedly I've heard... which were as multi climatal (in diverse climates/lands, prob not real word) as the people may have been. Info on "Mic the Vegan". But yes fruit based is way more convenient for people with blenders and banana smoothies haha, but bananas are still easy to eat so who knows? I've heard bananas and such fruits were originally barely eatable to people, although there may have been other fruits which were similar in calorie and nutrition balance at the time. I've also heard it was debunked on mic the vegans channel that bananas used to be that way... I don't remember the evidence to have a current truthful opinion it's been awhile since I've researched this. I hope this comment contributes
Also there were of course greens, etc other plant mater you'd think to find... and others I'm sure we don't talk about often. B12 in natural water, d3 in shrooms (the cooking kind haha) and water is almost always full of minerals

Your spot on, people used to calorie dense stimulating foods makes it a challenge to learn to get enough and fully enjoy simpler lower calorie foods. Takes some time, dedication and education, specifically around fruit n greens consumption, emotions, coping mechanisms and more. The antage, right between all you enjoy and all you can is very helpful for most.

Absolutely, as a species we survived as raw foodists for longer than we have been cooking food, all animals naturally are raw foodists beyond scavengers.
Fruit based is easier for humans than veg based, with blenders etc or not. I’ve had many long periods of time without any tools, simply eating, once used to it and knowing what to eat it doesn’t take much more time than with smoothies etc. Animals are opportunistic, often eating roughage with lower calories, thus more often.
There are records of seedless bananas going back over 2000 years in China, and your right there are and have been many varieties of sweet fruit that are much much older than that. We have it good today imho, people often glamorize living in nature but in reality that’s more often simply about survival.
