    I didn't know there was a name for this but I've been doing this for years...I actually have several techniques including this exact one...I currently have 30x 20 boards that I buy at the dollar store , I have like 30 that are complete and every wall including the ceiling of my apt are covered in this type of artwork...I thought I created this...Using different techniques results in beautiful art dumped out of the mind...My best friend said, as soon as someone sees my apt and takes pics, it's going viral...lol...it's beatiful....it's my safe place. ..drawing like this takes me away. ..20 years now...

    Your explanation of what neurographic art is and how to do it is the best I have found. Something I want to try is to have a notebook handy to jot down a very short note of what pops into my thoughts while creating the art, and then quickly go back to,the art.

    Hi Lauren, Your art is lovely and the way you're able to explain your process is very clear! I'm new to this, but it didn't take me long to see that there are many different ways of going about this. So, I'm curious because your technique seems very free. The way the people from the official school teach this includes more rules about how to color, create the lines etc. Do you know if there's any evidence that one style creates better results? I have chronic pain, chronic fatigue, PTSD, & other health challenges like many people. I'm always happy to find something that could make life better. Thank you for sharing your neurographic art!

    Wow, looks amazing. I suffer with depression as well as health issues. I love lots of types of art as well as crafting but feel sometimes my pieces aren’t perfect as in portrait not spot on or something not in proportion. Been trying Zentangles which I love. This looks amazing, looking forward to trying it 💕

      I practice the Zentangle Method for my chronic pain and it cut the pain in half. I became a CZT a year ago because my partner thought it was a good investment in my overall health and I love to teach. Neurographic Art would definitely be a nice addition to your tangling explorations. Good luck!

    What a brilliant idea! I've never heard of it before. I've had depression in the past and I still suffer from anxiety and over-thinking, and feeling angry. Luckily, I've just bought some black fine-liners and colouring pens so I can have a go. I'll have to use my photocopy paper though, for now. I'll have to make some quilled pictures out of any art I might do; I'm just getting into that. xx

    I am a ruptured brain aneurysm survivor. Neurological challenges are a daily challenge for me. I just learned about neurographic art. It is very interesting. I am beginning artist. Frustrated right now with my work. Abstract art is what I admire. Your works are absolutely amazing. You're video's have inspired me to try this form of artwork.
    What brand markers are you using in each piece?

      Thank you for your comment and thanks for sharing your story. I wish you well 🙌 I am glad you have started exploring Art and abstract art, Art can be very calming and healing in my opinion. I am using in the first drawing markers called Artist Sketch Marker Coloring (they are a smaller brand) and then in the second drawing I am using Sharpies (they are a bigger more well known brand). Any kind of markers will work though. Good luck on your Art journey 🌿🎨

    I am still trying to pin down what it is that makes this art "neurographic" and a "new way of doing art"...I discovered this type of art through perusing You Tube, but I've run into so many so-called definitions of it that now I'm totally confused. Nothing but contradictions and exceptions, varying definitions and claims of expertise, all saying something different. So frustrating! Anyway, after watching your video, I see you are definitely drawing what I thought I understood to be proper neurographic lines with zero loop de loops, and rounding corners in what I thought is the proper way to do that, but I'm wondering about the other figures and designs you are coloring into the lines and shapes after the initial drawing is completed. Are you converting your neurographic art into mosaics? Or, into your own personal interpretation of actual Neurographic art? Have you discovered any hard and fast rules for what defines neurographic art as opposed to simply abstract art? I am really interested in your opinion. Thank you!

    • @laurenbarta
      @laurenbarta  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Vicki, thanks for your comment. From my understanding, the difference between Neurographic art and Abstract art is mostly down to the way Neurographic Art helps one process emotions, feelings and thoughts through drawing the lines and rounded edges in a slow and meaningful manner. When it comes to adding color to Neurographic Art, I think that it comes down to what supplies people have available to use. Different supplies will create a different appearance to the Neurographic Art and maybe that is why there are so many varieties out there. The way I added my color and also the patterns in this video, is how I naturally felt like doing it at the time. More of an intuitive process and experimentation. I am very interested in all art techniques and styles, and sometimes enjoy blending them together. I hope that answers your question :)

    • @laurenbarta

      In this video I use Sharpie markers, a black permanent marker, a black ink pen, Posca markers and the paper type is a card stock type paper in a sketchbook - unfortunately the exact type is not specified on the sketchbook. The sketchbook is called Skicák (czech name), there might be some more information about it online. Thanks for your comment :)

  • @nancykatherine9579

    I just watched the science behind it and you all should too. It's very important for he lines to go where they're not expected and be organic. They can't be where your hand naturally wants to go. You have to draw with intention, but not normal shapes and squiggles. This can actually be used to physical pain also. Google the correct way to get the most benefits. It'll relax you either way, but this isn't neurographic art.
