In this video you will learn about the art of pitch control. To better understand pitch control, let's imagine a big clock on the wall. Just like the hands of the clock, the pitch action happens from 9 o'clock to 3 o'clock. When we apply brake, the wing slow down, but our body, with its inertia, continue to move forward, causing us to climb.
This happens when we slow down after a rotation or even encountering a strong thermal. As we run out of inertia and start falling towards the earth, the wing will shoot forwards or pitch forward. Most people think they catch the dive around the vertical. But in reality they catch it a bit early. To catch the dive effectively, we need to load the harness and keep our eyes on the wing.
