- With the rising interest in religious liberty following the abortion and contraception mandates placed on the Catholic Church by Obamacare regulations, many pastors and citizens alike want to learn more about what the Bible teaches in regards to the believer's role in government. It is this quest that Dr. Wayne Grudem engages as he surveys the Bible and its implications for involvement in governmental affairs.
Grudem is Research Professor of Theology and Biblical Studies at Phoenix Seminary in Phoenix, Arizona, and has been best known by theologians and seminary students for his textbook, Systematic Theology.
Prior to Phoenix Seminary he taught for twenty years at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois, where he was chairman of the Department of Biblical and Systematic Theology. He received a B.A. from Harvard University, an M.Div. from Westminster Seminary in Philadelphia, and a Ph.D. (in New Testament) from the University of Cambridge in England.
Thank you Dr. Grudem.
Oh, I hadn't attended Southern then and missed the promotion.😂
Where's the rest of the lecture?
Maybe SBTS UA-cam has.
When does this thing start???! It's possibly okay for the incestuous in-group.. but this is very difficult to watch! The two realms thing didn't come of too well. The objections he himself raised he himself did not answer.
Funny ... Moses and others didn't have to have NONE of these degrees.
Eric Morrison - Moses was God’s man. I always look at the people in the Bible and what they accomplished by faith and in faith. God chooses the poor to be rich in faith. It is about growing up in Christ. Christ in you the hope of glory. Young David took out Goliath by his trust and faith in God.
You’re not Moses.
[Dr.Wayne Grudem]: "...Genuine religion cannot be forced..."
[Every major OT figure directed by YHWH, ever]: "Holdeth my goat-skin drinking vessel."
Stopped at 5 min. all promotion for a person and a book
The part the title mentions is actually a little after those five minutes. You gave up just a little too soon.
I have watched and seen Wayne at professional conferences, and in this video he does the same thing he has done in the past, he self-promotes. I saw him once introduce himself to a person at a professional conference as the "former head of the Evangelical Theological Society" when the person he was speaking, who was the speaker of the break-out session, was only looking for a microphone. It was ridiculous. Really, it was stupid. Clearly this guy struggles with pride. It's so utterly annoying. "Here's my book, go and buy it." Blah, blah, blah. Give me a break.
They only way for us to know is to know what his motive is.
