Ahh I remember when I was little, around 2005-2007 in Chengdu, people had our own little Christmas tradition like going to a plaza and randomly bonk people with inflated hammers or sticks, and use fake snow sprays to spay others. It was such a vibe, families and kids were so happy bonking strangers and getting bonked. Unluckily, one year the teenagers went too crazy, someone got stepped on and got hurt, so since that year this event was gone in my areaI still miss it, that was how I got to experience the Christmas vibe I saw from American cartoons and movies. I'm right now experiencing Christmas in NYC which is truly amazing, I kind of feel sad when you guys found out Christmas in China is still a bit different, just like me spending Chinese New Year here in Chinatown. This is the time that we really get emotional and miss our family and home🥺 I will be back in China for New Year’s eve tho, so excited! Haven’t been back for more than a year now. Hi, welcome to my hometown, hope you two have a nice journey in Chengdu. To drink some tea and chatting when sunshine appears is a very enjoyable time in the winter of Chengdu.
I’m a Chinese now working in Mexico. In recent years, politicians have been trying to spread fear and rumors among ordinary people, which makes me really sad. But there are still people like you who are willing to explore different countries, experience different cultures, and make videos to share with others. You’re helping to break down prejudice and hatred, and I absolutely love your videos. There’s a phrase written on Tiananmen in Beijing, and the second part says, “Long live the great unity of the world’s people.” I truly hope that one day, people all over the world, no matter their race or nationality, can come together as one. P.S. A lot of people have suggested you visit Harbin, it’s my hometown. If you ever need any tips on things to do in Harbin, I’d be happy to help hahaha
Thank you so much for your kind words. We hope that our videos break down barriers in some small way and show others that most people are kind, regardless of their appearance, speech, or origin. It is really sad how the media tries to divide us. Reality is so different than what is shown online. How are things in Mexico now? We traveled across the country for six months in 2021 and absolutely loved it, but of course, US media is always talking about how dangerous it has gotten. Do you feel safe there, and would you recommend that we visit? Thanks again. 🥰
@ I live in Mexico City, some places like Reforma and Polanco are safe. But you still need to be careful at night. There are no 100% safe here in Mexico. But it’s a city definitely worth to be visited. Places like the castle Chapultepec, Museo de Soumaya, Museo Nacional de Antropología are really great. Also you can go to the cities like Cancun or Acapulco.

We’re not sure when we will be back. There’s a small chance we’ll go for some time next year but nothing is planned/booked yet. We do miss Indonesia’s beauty and cuisine! 😊
merry christmas and happy new year! cute themed village lol. there would be much more christmas vibes in the east coastal cosmopolitan cities like shanghai and even where you came from beijing, but at least you found something since chengdu has much less western exposure in terms of ex-pats. you gotta try the share bikes - it's a good way to casually explore the city. tip, if you are in china longer than a week, it's worth it to get a local number. you can get on for around $15 at any of the local telecom stores. having a local number really opens china a lot more and makes things easier - just imagine if you traveled in china without any of the payment apps. plus you can save on the cost of one esim so it balances out.
18:50 I think I saw the orange chocolate in Trader Joe’s here in states. But I’m not sure if it’s orange flavored chocolate or it’s just chocolate shaped like an orange.😂 Anyway, nice video! China has a chill Christmas vibe, so happy to see everyone enjoying it.❤

The LuxeTown Christmas Market in Chengdu is an ideal place for everyone to enjoy the festive atmosphere, take part in fun activities, and indulge in delicious holiday treats.
It was really fun! We had such a good time. 🥰🥰🥰
When do you will go explore to Indonesia ?
We’re not sure when we will be back. There’s a small chance we’ll go for some time next year but nothing is planned/booked yet.
We do miss Indonesia’s beauty and cuisine! 😊
Welcome to my hometown Chengdu. I hope you have fun.
Thanks so much! We‘re having a great time. 😊
merry christmas and happy new year! cute themed village lol. there would be much more christmas vibes in the east coastal cosmopolitan cities like shanghai and even where you came from beijing, but at least you found something since chengdu has much less western exposure in terms of ex-pats. you gotta try the share bikes - it's a good way to casually explore the city.
tip, if you are in china longer than a week, it's worth it to get a local number. you can get on for around $15 at any of the local telecom stores. having a local number really opens china a lot more and makes things easier - just imagine if you traveled in china without any of the payment apps. plus you can save on the cost of one esim so it balances out.
Thank you so much, and happy holidays to you as well! We got our SIM cards yesterday, and it has made life much easier. 🥰
Merry Christmas ❤
Thank you! Merry Christmas to you as well. ❤️🎄
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to you too! 🥰🎄
18:50 I think I saw the orange chocolate in Trader Joe’s here in states. But I’m not sure if it’s orange flavored chocolate or it’s just chocolate shaped like an orange.😂 Anyway, nice video! China has a chill Christmas vibe, so happy to see everyone enjoying it.❤
Ah, that's good to know! I'll have to check Trader Joe’s when we return to the States. Thanks for watching! Wishing you happy holidays. 😊

How is your Christmas in China compared to other countries?
We didn't notice as many decorations, but we had fun at the Christmas market here in Chengdu. 😊
Merry Christmas, enjoy your holiday in China. maybe you can go to the north of China to join Harbin Ice & Snow festival, it's the real Disneyland made by ice. it's on the top level and you can't find in any other country. lots of vids on the youtuber
Thanks so much! We won’t make it this year, but we’re already planning to be in Harbin for the festival next year. 😊
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, Mike and Ashley!
Thank you so much! We hope you have a great holiday season as well. 🎄😊
In China, a saying to describe people showing off their love is "Scatter dog food"(撒狗粮). I think you are good at 撒狗粮❤ Don't take me wrong, it is a good word. We like that.😄
Haha, thank you! We’ve seen that mentioned a few times and always wondered if the person insulted us or if it was a translation error. 😅🤣
@@mikeandashley no worries. It's a positive word! In fact it means showing affection rather than showing off
That's good! We always want to be respectful. But we're very happy that our love/affection for one another shows on camera. 🥰🥰🥰
please dont use your evil moral saying to represent all the Chinese.
Merry Christmas!❤🎉
