I use a tank bag with water and other items ,weight is 5.6kg also driving lights , light bar on the front .Adding up to about 9kg extra to the front. If the tank bag comes off it wobbles. Also Yamaha bend bars with bark busters and bar weights. The more weight on the back the more wobble I get. I'm Getting new heavy duty shocks fitted as they needed updating anyways. Will see how it rides and do an update if anyone's interested . Owned 10 years and have done 70K on it.
The catalytic converter is not part of the silencer, it sits underneath the bike. I have one one of these bikes, they are reliable and comfortable but...they are heavy (200 kg) and very underpowered (only about 55 hp). And yes, the wind buffeting is a problem, even with a taller screen. Mine wobbles a bit, especially when there is stuff in the top box.
A friend of mine has had it almost since new. Atleast 20+ years. And it runs great. We had a trip today with two other riders and it keeps up perfectly fine against my xl750. Not on hard accelleration. But otherwise.
Actually mine does not wobble at all, so it’s not that all of them do. Get yourself an adjustable windshield deflector, will do the job. I suffered the same as you when I bought it, the deflector made the problem go away. And in order to work on the plugs, no need to take the fairings or tank off. Just get the Honda spark plug wrench, costs around $20.
I've been having this bad boy for almost 2 years and done over 32k km and it's my first bike It is really vfm and really rider friendly if you are a novice rider. But since it has no abs you need to be careful on breaking. About fuel consumption: It varies from 5 liters to 6.5 (if you are a naughty boy) per 100 km and i'm almost having a milage about 300km now, about the wobble... i didn't see any of that happening Overall i believe i mad a good choice as a first bike and it came out to be extremely reliable so far, I dare say... it's a baba yaga
Ive got one if these in black aswell! It is a model often disregarded by many because of its specifications. Undeneath all that wild 00's plastic is a very conservatively designed machine with a tweaked 90's motor. Its tried and true design that is well thought out and makes a very predictable machine that is easy to ride. It doesnt give anything for free but if you ride it like a bike should be ridden its very satisfying. I agree the buffeting is awful and im trying to see what i can do to fix it. I also find the bike to be a bit (top)heavy. The looks isnt the best but thats not why i bought it, but it has grown on me. Your weaving issue sounds strange, mine less weavy than other bikes ive ridden/owned. Are you sure its not the "natural" weave that all motorcycles will have at certain speeds if you let go off the handle bar? i can probably get mine to weavenif i did that.

Are you mental??? It does 55+ miles to the Gallon touring. It does 0 to 100 kmph in 5 seconds. The brakes are really good. It handles well. It doesn't have a cat, it's just a big soundbox. I know because I chopped the one off my Transalp 😁

You watch the videos and I explain. Did you watch?
Owned one, most boring bike ive ever owned.
I can see why, its been a conservative machine since it was launched. The excitement here really hase to come from the rider.

@robrob9050 agree, but I don't want boring in a bike.
