Noise Gate vs Noise Reduction - Which is Better?

Noise gates and noise reductions work differently and neither one is inherently "better" but one may be a better choice depending on your use case. Noise reduction is great for cutting out environmental noises such as fans, appliances, etc. while a noise gate is helpful if you have other people talking around you. For recorded audio, it's best to handle noise reduction in post but that's a topic for another video!
