That old Detroit brings back memories of the old days. Riding the old skidder in 19 degree weather would chill you to the bone, keep cutting and stay safe. Saying hello from the hills of Tennessee.
My logger neighbor down my road today had a skidder fire it spread through the field he had all his other equipment in. I’m fire chief at our local fire department. We managed to save a lot of equipment but he lost 7 pieces of equipment before we could get the fire out. A couple skidders. 2 Prentice loaders,an older dozer as log trailer and and old Kenworth.
Steve, I have a question for you. I have a 460 rancher Husqvarna with a 24'" bar. the chain came off the bar, the drive link of the chain that rides in the bar will not fit back in the bar slot, every link has burrs on it. I have had chains come off before but never caused this kind of damage to a chain. could this have caused damage to my bar also? Is there anything else I should look at, are just replace the chain. It's a new saw with only 5 hrs on it. The guy that was using the saw was cutting in vines when this happened. Thanks
Iv had that happen to me many time. I put the chain on the bar and tighten it snug. Start the saw and it will knock the burrs off the chain and fall back into the bar, or trash the chain and buy a new one. That's your call but I always use the same chain.
Thank you....I have always enjoyed your work.
Now that was a cold start. Dam good starter on that thing if you ask me.
Clatter clatter bang bang lope lope lope. No Electronic nightmares in that machine!
Life is not dull in your world. Have fun.
A little to much excitement
And the "Battery of the Year Award" goes to...👍👍

Good ole Detroit for ya .. And nicely done bud
A touch of hot sauce before hitting the button would make the starter and batteries send you flowers for valentine's day. Won't hurt it none.
Nice! Good to see you back on the saws doin what you love. Much respect from southern il. Hope you got em out before this weather!
All out but not hauled
Steve you got it. Old Detroit sounding good. Take care and be careful.
Thar she blows😁 Good job Stevie👍🙂
Seems like a few sniffs of the tractor crack can would have woken up the Detroit faster…
Love the sound of old iron!
That motor has less than 40hours on it. Not sure he wants to get the can out just yet
@@stevebillow395 That engine start stuff ain't so good for engine longevity!

This winter has worn me out. Waiting on some sunny spring weather. The man should have empty some of the sheds out.
The land owner moved the shed about 20 feet from where it normally sat
You could have cooked breakfast on that starter after that.
One thing about them ol Detroit they like there starting fluid
Bout like my loader. That got a 353 n it ? Atleast got some decent white oaks looks like
U don't work with logger Wade anymore?
Left there 4 months ago

@@stevebillow395, thank you, I'm going with a new one.
Ok so you on your own now ? Good felling of said tree and wife wants to know how you related to wade or are you
No relation at all. Just a worker he loved to bash and bully
See i told ya
This may be a stupid Question, but why do people leave their pride and joy parked in harm's way?
I'd guess looking for a new ride
