You can also refill the tanks cheaper by buying the right equipment and going to welding shop where they sell gas if you want to spend 1/8 the price on the gas and the piece equipment you need to attach to the new tank cost around $16 US dollars
I just bought mine and I'm very happy with it. I've been trying to cut out sugary sodas with selzers, but I drink the cans way too fast and they're expensive.
I was considering purchasing soda stream as a cost-effective alternative to soda but I'm not sure how cost effective it is if you have to purchase the unit AND bottles of concentrate.
It depends how much you put in the equation, using fuel to go to the shops et cetera et cetera generally it works out a little bit cheaper but obviously much better for the planets are much more green option if that’s important to you
It is absolutly considerable on the trash you produce (lot less plastic waste each time you want soda or carbonated water) Im use to drink 7up and the amoumt of bottle is kinda huge even tho im not a huge soda drinker So thats the second reason im going for this The first is to reduce the level of fu** sugar in my everyday consumptiom !!!!
It also help reducing the amount of microplastic youre ingesting (soda bottle are not to thrust with microplastic your are sure to ingest a lot) In the other hand The soda stream bottle is a lot more resistant plastic which reduce the amoumt of micro plastic in your fav beverages
No it will explode! You gotta do water first and carbonate the water and then add orange juice afterwards, if you just put orange juice in the bottle and try to carbonate it, it will explode
Coke and other brands are often 40% off and around 0.75 cents a litre, in gas stations its like $3.00 a litre. soda stream is good fun and i just got to work out why my bottle falls 10mm when i start the gas. from Australia
@@mgtracey Thats pricey syrup :D. Here in Poland one bottle costs around 6 canadian dollars. But the saturator alone costs around 100 CAD. Still I found that whole investment including water costs, co2 refilling and so on will pay for itself after drinking 500 litres of only carbonated water or 120 litres of drinking cola/pepsi. Good enough for me.
I am very upset as I have an old soda stream machine which I use everyday and now I cannot replace the model 30 gas anywhere what to do is my machine now a through away now please help
There are ways but buy a bigger cylinder to refill the small ones but I’m afraid from a safety point of view it is now time to retire your order model. This is the best price I can find on a new one . amzn.to/3Sn6Ei7. Paul
Wow I’m jealous of how cheap you got yours, I got mine from Amazon for alot more than the equivalent of twenty pounds in Canadian dollars whatever that is. Still probably a lot cheaper than what I paid lol
I'd looked at figures online for how much litres the gas can make and how much the syrup can make. It worked out about 25p per 330mls. Depending how much syrup/gas you use it does seem cheaper other than the expense of the machine. I got mine a few days ago and I'm still trying to work out the best carbonation and syrup ratio. But so far it does seem good but doesn't taste the exact same.
restaurants, fast food chains, etc. save an insane amount of money, because they buy syrup and co2 in big quantities. now for sodastream consumer you actually only save a tiny portion of that. but you stop carrying bottles from shopping. this is the main benefit i guess.

Great review. I bought one yesterday and am so far impressed. Sparkling water for me is so much easier to drink than still water Didn't even know they did 7 up so that's a must try !
Can u use spring water which is what I mostly drink??!!! Also will other bottles work with sodastream that r able to hold carbonation and have the same size and style top of bottle???!!
The ONLY sodastream syrup one can buy and really use is the energy one, booster I think it was called, anything else just does not taste good or even near the original ... shame.
@@mgtracey Yes thanks, I picked up some litter yesterday that someone had left behind again and put it in the nearest bin. 👍Jokes aside, (although true story!) I think the idea of the Sodastream is great but having to go through all this hassle for one drink is still too much. - They could at least make it a once a day job. Time is money & life is short.😃
If you replace the 1lb bottles with a mod that accepts 5lb co2 canisters you theoretically can half the costs. But I don't really drink soda it's more of a novelty than anything. I got it to replace la croix since you can get essences in bulk and you don't have to recycle cans for the deposit anymore.
buggerall bubbles . the older white tower machine was much better . far more bubbles . we are so disappointed with our new black Soda Stream. $79 wasted

I remember one of these when I was a kid. Fizzy didn't stray far away from fizzy Ribena, good times.
The best tip you've given is the temperature of the water. The colder it is, the better.

Congrats
I keep ending up with an explosion when I add the syrup to the carbonated water. How did you control that so well? Run the syrup down the side?
Yes do one less push of carbonation button tilt bottle to side , slowly add concentrate, cap on and mix gently
Run the syrup down the side of bottle to reduce less foam and possible overflow. Like filling on-tap beer in a glass. Same purpose.
would u not put the flavour in before the carbonation
? to mix it up
if you put flsvour in first it goes off like a coke bottle with mentos dropped in it !
@@mgtracey Also it would gum up the pressure relief valve over time, at which point the bottle would explode and you'd possibly sustain an injury.
@@MusicMan922 would that happen of you have only made it fizz out once?
No
in Spain at least is more cheaper to buy the 2L soda bottle in the supermarket.
thank you so much, I want to get one for soda but all the videos I've seen are flavored water. Yours was the first that showed the syrup

Throw it violently against the wall
How many bottles do you get out of the syrup x
On average 9.

They sell adapters on Amazon, you connect to a larger gas tank that you can rent from a medical type place.
Damn I paid 49 usd at kohl's during a 3 day sale on this item and thought I got away with a steal... 20 quid is nothing for this unit!

I am getting mine from ASDA as they have the whole collection
Thanks for the update how much are they in Asda
@@mgtracey Hi, they are £45 as I think they are brand new at Asda and you will find all of the flavoured drinks there right next to the machine.
My only question is does this save you money in the long term?
Not a lot in it but better for the planet 🌎
Nope and that's why I'm not buying one. Rather just buy pop pre made and recycle the bottles.
