You are listening to a new and very nice effect of old fashioned music, oldies as we like calling them, (music from 20's, 30's, 40's) and it is sounding like it is coming from another room with relaxing rain and thunder sounds. I hope you guys enjoy the another room effect to oldies songs - this unique combination between oldies music with relaxing rain sounds, or thunder sound effects w/ cars passing by, waves and so on but this time you're at a ball in 1921 in The Gold Room ( Overlook Hotel ambience ) from The Shinning movie. Enjoy this 3 HOURS ASMR bliss!

Kind of mind-blowing to think that 1921 was 100 years ago. When I was a kid, 100 years ago seemed the same as a million years ago, like humans were almost a different species back then. At that same time, my grandparents would tell me stories about growing up during the 1920s, about silent films, speakeasies, Model Ts in the city and horse and buggies still in the country, about a world that seemed like a strange hybrid between recognizably modern and echoes of the ancient. Time isn't an even thing and people who lived long lives from the early 20th century to the early 21st century saw more tumult and change than any other era in human history. Now I'm roughly halfway through a hopefully long life myself. Anyway, cool tunes. ;)

Nice story. Thank you for sharing. My grandmother was born in 1896. She told me lots of stories too. I have all four of her high school yearbooks, from 1911-1914. High school students sure looked different back then; they were very beautiful.

Very interesting! I was thinking people born at that year would be 100yrs now or a century old. We probably don’t have WWI vets around anymore because if we did, they’ll be like 120yrs right now….
I’m fairly young but my grandmother was 83 at death a few years ago. Relatively young for a grandparent I guess since many live to the 90s I believe. She was born 1926 so very close to this historic somewhat ancient (to me time)…. It’s cool to know grandparents have actually seen history making things!

I worked as a watchman at a hotel that looked very similair to the Overlook hotel. The interior of the hotel was warm and rustic. The area where the hotel was located was very beautiful🌲but also remote... During the Covid lockdown there were no guests for months and the hotel was totally empty... I remember playing "Midnight, The Stars and you" and other ballroom songs on the sound system while wandering the empty halls at a cold winter night. Good times...

  • @Jay-qh6uv

I always found the end of The Shining weirdly comforting and soothing. Who wouldn’t want to be absorbed into this hotel? The picture of Jack at the NYE party with “Midnight, The Stars and You” playing always made me feel warm and happy. His soul was finally “home” where it belonged, where it was destined to be since he was born. Everything in his life was leading up to his return to the Overlook Hotel, and now he can finally rest peacefully where he truly belongs.
Maybe it appeals to my (and human being’s) desire to find someone I “fit”, somewhere I’m “meant to be” or something like that, but I just love the idea of coming to a place like this and being overwhelmed with the feeling of “we’ve been waiting for you all this time,” and your soul feels like it just clicks into place. The cycle is complete, destiny is manifested, now you can rest. It’s a very beautiful and comforting idea of an afterlife.

Thank you for making this. There's something about this I feel such a connection to. I wish our time was more about being in the moment. Every slice of experience was much more precious back then because we couldn't document as much as we can now. Something that is shared with ourselves vs something that is shared with millions.. does it lose its value because no one is truly experiencing it? Even the person taking that picture? But what about a single girl, experiencing a ball for the first time back in the 20's? What a thrill. I wish for all of that now. It's like a memory in a painting, we can't hug it or smell the aroma of the ball, but we imagine ourselves in it, giving ourselves a special experience to hold forever in mind.

I love the beginning of the Shining most of all when they have that big luxurious hotel all to themselves. She fixes their meals in that giant kitchen and has every food you can image to serve her family on that silver cart. The little boy is innocently riding around the vast hallways on his Big wheel. The snow has not started yet and its beautiful scenery outside.. The evil has not yet taken over the husband's mind and he is happy to be with his family.

Fun thing to fall asleep thinking about :
I was closing my eyes and picturing myself as a time traveler who came here, sitting at the bar and talking to the barista and by the time I left he was suspicious (in a good way) that I’m not from the 20’s and I take one more sip of my whiskey and thank him and tell him I enjoyed the chat but I need to go and that I’ll remember him. He watches you open a door that normally leads out to the storage closet but you open it and it leads out to the ocean (magical key like Key & Locke show) and you give him a wink and a wave and shut the door, he then quickly runs to the door and opens it to see that it’s just the storage closet again. Then he always wonders if you were an illusion, ghost, time traveler etc and if he’ll ever see you again.
Then maybe as he slowly walks over to the bar in bewilderment, he faces the back wall to clean your glass, turns around looking down and just sees someone’s hands placed on the counter and asks them nonchalantly what they’d like and you say “same as before” and he quickly looks up at you, you’re back but you’ve aged 10years in a different outfit. You smile at him in a sly way that shows you know how confused he is and how much you get a kick out of doing that to people. Then “the dream camera” fades out as he smiles and you both talk about being a traveler and where you went to see the pyramids being built etc
It’s like a movie haha. I have a very vivid mind.

Ma'am no matter where you go in time or place, you'll always be there. It has to start with you. The world was never good. We just glean the good in hindsight. But I know what you mean. I lived in another Era myself, the 50's. There's folks out there that turn their homes into their decade of choice sanctuaries, UA-cam has people who loved the 50's and live that way. Nothing stops you, plenty of ways to recreate that time. Find people that share your desires. I'm from Luzianne/Texas descent, I don't have a television, western to the core. However this music was played when I was raised. I do my business out there, my home is my relaxing and the world's problems end at my gates. Go for it , live, dream you'll have fun.
