Guys, because of you two I bought my first ever MRE. Now, I'm one of those vegetarians, so I got the cheese tortellini one. Let's see how it goes. 😂😂 Love your videos! Edit 1: Got the MRE today and I would rate it a solid 4. High speed. 😁 Not sure if I haven't had nice food in a while or it actually tastes good! 😆
When I in grade school. My dad got me one of the MREs in green packaging. Which was the current issue for MREs, at that time. It was the beef stew MRE. Tasted just like Dinty Moore beef stew, even had the orange grease in the package. Fond memories.
Hey. I think it would be a good idea for you two to gather our army stories and tell them in podcast. It's already done here in Finland and it is so much fun to listen to. Stories include greatest fails and succsess stories, funny moments etc. This would be fun made by you two. Granted I'm not sure how many of this audience has been through army service, but then they could take their father's and grand father's stories. Great video as always.
Yo guys is this your channel? I absolutely love you guys, been a fan ever since you went on gameology for the first time. Now I listen to your podcast and you better believe im subscribing here! Rock On Guys!
Dude, the early 2000's Beef Stew was soooo good, tasted just like Dinty Moore Beef Stew, one of my favorites from back in the day. The Meatloaf and Spaghetti were fantastic as well, the Cheese Tortellini was good, the Spanish Rice and Beans was alright but definitely needed the pepper and hotsauce additions.
@@RealAaron317 Yeah for sure, the white rice is a bit of a newer component for MRE's though I've had it and it ain't bad, the old Beef Stew was waaaayyy better yeah lol.
@@RealAaron317 Part of the problem is most the surplus military MRE are not legit, they are copy cats. It's been a lot harder to get military surplus these days compared to before.
Love it when you guys uploads! Chili Mac MRE is my favorite, Pure Incredible content everything the MREs, Shooting, Podcast! Stay awesome guys! America F**k Yeah!
Beef stew is my favorite as well; it was the first C-ration meal I ever ate. Nowadays, Chicken A La King (unspoiled!) is up there. Fried corn nuggets are a hard zero on my menu, though.
Great video guys, I like the beef stew as well and I'm surprised to find out there are companies out there making MREs but using different than the standard US Government/DOD suppliers. Seems that MRE Star sells internationally and are probably picked up my governmental agencies to feed people in a disaster relief scenario. 🙂🙂
God I used to be “homeless”. It was a bougie homeless experience though. I had a job, but I slept in the forest. I also had wifi from the business just outside of the forest. This video reminds me of those times
Love y’all’s continent. I’ve been sub for a little bit and I love that y’all don’t just slap a little emblem on the top right of a shirt. Y’all use all the space and make them meaning in mind. Not just money
See, when it comes to the MRE Star meals, I have only ever had the Beef Stew. Honestly? I have ate MUCH worse foods. The carrot cake sucked and the skittles were stuck together but it wasn't terrible. I do love the difference between the MRE Star meal and the camping meals but that was a given. Your reactions are why I love the channel though.
Best MRE I had during service was sausage gravy and biscuits. I remember being stationed in Okinawa, during typhoons, dorm people got 3 MREs for the day. Didn't have to eat it if you prepped ahead of time
I usually tried to trade into any of the patty/loaf mains, simply because they required the least work. Saying that, the ham and chicken loaf was a little weird due to the congealed material, which was like the stuff that collects in a Spam can.
Mountain House are pretty good yes but kind of salty IMO. It's good if you want to pick something up from pretty much any sporting goods store. I personally prefer Backpackers Pantry but AVOID the curries unless you want the possibility of having the runs while out in nature.
The only issue I have with them is that they are quite expensive. I actually ended up buying a freeze drier and making my own because I have a lot of freeze dried food as a survival option, and also because it is great to store items that are not eaten often but are otherwise taking up valuable freezer space. Great for preserving bumper crops as well from the garden.
@@DaveSmith-cp5kj Buying MREs gets pretty expensive too, buying a complete box is well over $100 and one A or B box only gives you half of the full menu. I agree that making freeze dried at home is the cheapest. There's also buying dehydrated mixed vegetables and taking those on hikes then adding in whatever seasonings you like and maybe add in something that was caught. If you have kids that would also be a good way to teach living off the land too. Obviously only going fishing and/or hunting when it's legal to do so.
@@Megames2012 Yeah I like Mountain House for the variety and ease in finding them. I prefer Backpacker's Pantry because I find them to be less salty than a comparative Mountain House food dish. Full disclosure, a long time friend of mine who was also in SF with me ended up being involved with Backpacker's Pantry, probably as an Angel Investor and he's the one who got me into Backpacker's Pantry as a lower salt alternative to say Mountain House, which aside from the salt are really good meals.
I know they're saying "meets standard" but I don't process auditory stimuli real well, so I always think they're saying "meat standard." At least it sort of conveys the same meaning? Hopefully after more videos my brain will grasp on first hearing that it's meets, not meat, standard. Enjoying the vids, despite my inability to hear things correctly!
Single full MRE about - $15 to $24 at amazon Bag of Mountain House whatever - $11 average bass pro 20oz Can of Dinty Moore Stew - $2.68 wallymart Do the math
If we're talking about a good beef stew, you've not had me cook one. I challenge both of you to have a batch of my cooking to see how it compares. You can near smell it across the country and it's so, so tasty when it comes out right. All of that fat from the chuck steak dissolves.... I'm starting to feel hungry. Time to cook a batch.
From your description, I do think it'll be amusing for you guys to make your own kind of MRE's. Even better, compete against each other on who makes the better MRE.
Why don't you guys each get a bunch of different types, mix-match them, throw in a bit of that "ranger kitchen" to make your "ultimate" personal MRE? It'd be a good watch to see what you both come up with.
Maybe do Beef Stew vs Canned Beef Stews like you guys did with the pizza mre. Also maybe Asian Beef Strips (only MRE Ive never seen actually lol) vs real asian beef or asian MRE.
Il have seen a video the RAID or the GIGN eat rice and the Commando Hubert of the French Navy eat Cous Cous in ration the most badass guys in the military eat simple things 😉
Its so sick how you guys were able to form such a brotherly friendship from gameology 😂
they were friends before gameology
Doesn’t matter if they knew each other or not, if you’ve been in the military, you can quickly become like family with others who were in as well

Creeping up on 200k faster then the flash. Keep up the good work my friends. 🙏
Check BCB Dragon fire heater with solid fuel in gel. It's small and I use it on my country's army, who I'm a member, exercises.

Fact I use to buy from a surplus store now there are mediocre

Guys I definitely want to see you do a comparison of coffee, protein powder, and power bars that military branches like to use
I’m a former soldier and I was eating MCIs and beef stew was the best out a can. It was Dinty Moore flavor. Missed the MCIs

Mt House produces the best freeze dried meals, and they're what you expect; no noodles in beef stew, for example.

I'd like to get my hands on any US MRE so I can compare it to ours. To see which country's military kitchen does better job...

MRE Star is adequate across the board. Meal Kit Supply uses the same manufacturers the DOD uses, much better.

I honestly wouldn’t deduct points for the noodles. Unexpected in stew certainly. But i wouldn’t hate on it for the noodles. They tried something.
What brand is the civilian one?
I think you guys might be interested in doing prepper videos. Love your vids BTW. And pineapples don't belong on pizza.
