That line did get me thinking: who else is comparable? It’s true. Key & Peele had one of the most remarkably brilliant runs of any sketch comedy show ever. Five seasons, and there might be (MIGHT BE) two full episodes of lame sketches combined. Like Keegan said - bulletproof. I’d arguably call East West Bowl the greatest sketch I’ve ever seen. That first viewing - I’ve never laughed harder. I watched it five times that night.
I've actually been thinking this for a while but never heard anyone say it out loud. SNL usually only has ONE good sketch a week and many times it's their digital shorts that Andy Samberg popularized. K and P have endless shorts to choose from. I love Chapelle's specials but they aren't sketches and I can name my two favorite sketches and they are only two. It's Charlie Murphy's retelling of Prince and Little Richard. In regards to choosing K and P sketches...I can't even recall them all....literally too many. I can easily lose a half hour because I started watching one K and P sketch and then had to watch ten more. Keye and Peele reign supreme. Jordan gets major props for being the most solid sketch writer...ever. Michael is bottled lightning incarnate with Jordan being the bottle that is harnessing him. Those two could literally retire right now and still have an enviable and damn near untouchable run for what they did and do. That's just the truth and I bet the numbers on UA-cam can easily verify this with sheer volume of hits.
These two are comedic geniuses- they are not only incredible sketch writers- but their acting is beyond me talented. Few have made me laugh out loud like these two. Great in every way.
I'm a 38 Chilean who has lived his last 16 years in mexico. ESL teacher, and Key and Peele have literally left me chocking on the floor of laughter actually fearing for my health 😅🤣😂 for real!! No comedian in my own native language have ever come close to do that. Love those guys!!!
This was fascinating to watch. Jordan Peele is easily going to be considered one of the greatest of all time when it's all said and done. He needs more opportunity and respect than he's getting now.
Let's be real though, if Jordan's old show hadn't got cancelled and Key's show as well they would have never met. Thus never becoming well known as they are now. Key explained how jordan and him came together because someone told them "Hey I want you two to meet and do this skit with eachother" and the first season of Key and Peel was actually NOT improvised. So without Key meeting Jordan , neither would be where they are. Both arose from failure, which is Inspiring. Can't have one without the other.
Key and Peele don't just write smart comedy, they are smart and sharp and I don't know that they get enough credit. These are the creators who are going to be remembered for their genius in 50 years.
Really cool to see how excited and into the subject he is. He’s talking like a fan who appreciates the talent and the work that goes into making something like Key & Peele happen
It's so subtle, but he starts impersonating Jordan when he quotes him. Not overtly, but enough that I noticed. It's weird seeing Keegan do an impression that's not over the top.
Key and Peele Origins is the sequel to Key and Peele Syndicate and was followed up by Key and Peele Odyssey, and the upcoming Key and Peele Valhalla to be released at the end of 2020.
These interviews made me feel like my dream of stand up will happen idk if it is just actors talking about their jobs but it makes me feel like it will all come together
This is the first time I watched him outside of a sketch. Laughing at their videos is so second nature that it felt wrong not laughing at this video haha
Wow, I tried making comedy sketches like them and mine come no where near these guys. These guys are so brilliant and talented. Jordan is a genius how he was planning it all ahead.
I read somewhere that when they did their roles for Toy Story 4, it was pretty much all improvised. It's nearly impossible for the two of them to not be funny together.
I seriously don't get why Chappelle threw shade at them. It was unwarranted besides the fact that it's such a basic Comedy Central format style, and furthermore, The Chris Rock show which preceeded Chappelle was closer than K&P. It may be an unpopular opinion but I think Key and Peele are WAY funnier, consistent and fully formed in their sketch comedy than Chappelle.
It's crazy that these guys were wasting away on MadTV for all those years before becoming such a huge cultural phenomenon. One or two times where they went right when they should've gone left, and we would've probably never heard from them again.
Chapelle was funnier and original but key and peele were way more developed and creative. Neither copied the other but they thought the same. Imagine all three together and given carte blanche to whatever they want with only a few limits
He should've said "so we were watching Chappelle show one day, and Jordan came up with the idea to do a tv show with sketches in it. Not sure where he got the idea from"
"The greatest sketch artist of the 21st century... " if he wasn't one of your best friends maybe, but since he is thats very arrogant of the both of you frankly. Learn from jews folks.
It’s not even bragging when he says that Peele is the best sketch writer of the 21st century. While Peele can write anything, Key can play anyone.
That line did get me thinking: who else is comparable?

John Brooke Rick James not Little Richard
I got Chappelle and Neal Brennan above tbh
Imagine being fortunate enough to be in the room while watching Key and Peele write and put those amazing sketches together.
👍🏾
Damn I love listening to Keegan talk. He's so articulate and engaging...just fun to watch.
There are few "celebrities" I'd want to hang out with, but he is definitely one of them.
Listen to “Hunt the Truth “ it’s a story based Halo podcast. He’s the star in it and god I want more
OK but I'd rather have him do this interview with an indian accent.
Keegan’s love for Jordan is palpable and I love it
Key and Peele are comedic giants.
And they are no where near 'mature' comedic giant's.... YET!
If this guy had a masterclass for comedy / standup I'd 100 percent take it. Dude definitely can do presentations and make them fun and interesting.
Absolutley the greatest comedy duo of the decade + 🙌🏻⚡️💪🏻💥😂📺🎥🎉👏🏻
Keegan is such an intelligent dude. Total artist. Love him
What I love about this, hearing how he loves performing improv and sketch comedy, is that Key's a Shakespearean-trained actor.
The best duo ever!!! I miss key and peele 😭
The postive energy he gives off about his fellow co-workers ( everyone) is amazing!
These two are comedic geniuses- they are not only incredible sketch writers- but their acting is beyond me talented. Few have made me laugh out loud like these two. Great in every way.
I love Key and Peele, always rewatching their skits :)
BULLET.
PROOF.
SKETCHES.

With great comedic power comes great responsitrillitrance.
Responsitrilligence
Can't wait to hear this whole conversation. These two are powerhouses and I need to know more about their origin story!

I could listen to him talk for days. 😍
This guy speaks with so much passion.
Keegan does good stuff. Here he exposes a legendary intellect.
No wonder Key&Peele were historical.
Really cool to see how excited and into the subject he is. He’s talking like a fan who appreciates the talent and the work that goes into making something like Key & Peele happen
Consistent magic from both these guys.
Key and Peele compliment each other's style of humor.
It's so subtle, but he starts impersonating Jordan when he quotes him. Not overtly, but enough that I noticed. It's weird seeing Keegan do an impression that's not over the top.
Yup. I noticed, too. His voice and mouth changed slightly.
Funny this gets uploaded today considering I've been on a Key and Peele binge lately.
Same! I just ran through Season 1 over the last three days. Season 2 will probably start today.
@@mooremiket awesome! Its crazy how season 1 of key and peele was NOT scripted lol, fooled me
Love Key being so humble and calling Peele the greatest sketch comedy writer. Key & Peele together is just pure comedy gold.
Just thinking about Jordan’s face when he sees the cat poster.
Key and Peele Origins is the sequel to Key and Peele Syndicate and was followed up by Key and Peele Odyssey, and the upcoming Key and Peele Valhalla to be released at the end of 2020.

LOVE Key and Peele!!
This is the first time I watched him outside of a sketch. Laughing at their videos is so second nature that it felt wrong not laughing at this video haha
Best sketch comedy being made today by far.
and now they're superstars. CONSEQUENCES
Wow, I tried making comedy sketches like them and mine come no where near these guys. These guys are so brilliant and talented. Jordan is a genius how he was planning it all ahead.
I read somewhere that when they did their roles for Toy Story 4, it was pretty much all improvised. It's nearly impossible for the two of them to not be funny together.
super talented people.......
And then he said biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
“Doing it with my bro, im doing it with my bro, i love doing it with my bro”
Best sketch show ever. Way better than "Chappelle's Show."
peele's get out was epic
I seriously don't get why Chappelle threw shade at them. It was unwarranted besides the fact that it's such a basic Comedy Central format style, and furthermore, The Chris Rock show which preceeded Chappelle was closer than K&P. Wow...throwing a playful jabs gets y'all butthurt
They totally Do it for me👍🤘🤘🤘🤘
This is a cool interview style.
“Wide in here punch in there punch in here” that’s what you momma said
“origins of the chapelle show. I mean mad tv.”
lol. watching this is as good as watching key and peele. :p
SLAPASSSSSS
I feel like he's acting at this video
It's crazy that these guys were wasting away on MadTV for all those years before becoming such a huge cultural phenomenon. One or two times where they went right when they should've gone left, and we would've probably never heard from them again.
Yeah, the fact that he didn’t even acknowledge Chapelle show is hilarious. Y’all literally make the same shoe with almost the sand stage setup.
When in the fuck did Chapelle suddenly become this goat. He is good but 90 percent of this is just Internet chat
They were easily the best thing about Madtv
Very Energized guy, wow Great Energy.... Its not coke is it.?
"Peter" is Pete Atencio
👌 1:29
Always?
Chapelle was funnier and original but key and peele were way more developed and creative. Neither copied the other but they thought the same. Imagine all three together and given carte blanche to whatever they want with only a few limits
they're charming and likeable though.
A-aron?
“The greatest sketch writer of the 21st century” - better than Chappelle? HOT take
I almost did a spit take when he said Peele was the greatest 21 Century sketch writer.
Yeah that was bolddddddd
using a lot of words but not saying much except that Peele was the driving force.
Please mention The Chappelle Show. At the time it seemed like dave left abruptly and comedy central scrambled to find a replacement for those viewers.
So who's in the gay share and who is in the straight chair?
I like to see them play,, Laurel & Hardy from the hood..
Are you doing a skit right now?
He should've said "so we were watching Chappelle show one day, and Jordan came up with the idea to do a tv show with sketches in it. Not sure where he got the idea from"
He’s one of those black dudes who looks like a arab
He’s half white
They watched chapelle show and decided to make it worse. Thats pretty much what happened
i love keegan and jordan but we all know chapelle is the greatest sketch writer in history
Paul name me one comic aside from keegan or jordan, who on record claims anyone other than chapelle is the best sketch writer in history...
Chapelle is overly saint worshipped.
AND the review of Chappelle is American only for sketch comedy.
Greatest sketch writer of the 21st century? Mmmm no. no. He's good for sure. Talented no doubt. But greatest of the 21st century is way off the mark
Who's ahead of him on your list? Not saying I disagree just curious
Noice
black and white theme is not good
All of these shows are B&W.
Greatest? Kevin James is killing it on youtube right now. I say they are tied for 3rd after David Wong who gets first and second.
First comment nice
Instead of commenting about the clip your contribution is to say you're the first? Doesn't mean anything if you don't have anything to say.
"The greatest sketch artist of the 21st century... " if he wasn't one of your best friends maybe, but since he is thats very arrogant of the both of you frankly. Learn from jews folks.
So we were watching lots of Dave Chappelle when we thought, oh shit. We could do that.
i looked up key and sorted by last hour and found this
disappointed
Not cool UA-cam. I'm not a fan of this guy.
why is this in black and white.. gay
