There was even time a US military band visited with a Japanese military base and they played the Yamato theme, too, so it seems like everybody know that theme over there! The harmony and sound of the Giant Robot theme is still nice. (I dunno -- I know him as Giant Robo but I was exposed to the anime first and really didn't make a connection to Johnny Sokko until later. I MIGHT have seen Johnny Sokko in my childhood but that was so long ago and I don't remember much of anything before I was 7, 8. Star Wars is probably the first major film I remember and I know I saw the 1960s Spider-Man animated series in the 1970s when it was already being rerun.)
