My grandparents had a summer house in the Outer Banks. When I was little, I would go there every summer. When we didn’t travel to the Outer Banks, we would go to the beach at Morehead City. Some of the BEST memories of my life!

I went out of ocean city Maryland in mid October. We followed scallop boats and pitched in right next to them. We hit big bluefins at will! Hardest fighting fish I've ever encountered! By far!

I find it funny when you watch wicked tuna and they complain about boats pulling up on them when they are catching fish, and soon after you catch a few fish .com come pulling up next to you. And when you guys bleed the fish like that do you ever attract any shark's? Excellent podcast by the way, I am glad I found your channel.
OBX is less of a spot based fishery, when they fish up in the north east those fish get staged up on high spots (i think) and being in the right spot is a big deal up there. im sure they smell it but i would be surprised if one was brave enough to come up to the boat and eat

Great video man! The most sure fire way to distinguish between yellowfin and big eye are actually the livers, the big eyes liver is tri lobed with the lobes being equal in size where the yellowfin has 2 lobes of equal size and one long thin lobe. Keep that reel tight brother!!

@@joevtfishing watched it last night on my TV in HD it was every bit as great as the second one! Also loved seeing the other bycatch. I'd be so stoked to have caught the yellowfin or the big eye (maybe on lighter tackle tho lol). Those guys just wanted that big bluefin. Fishing florida I've never had chances to catch too many tuna. Mainly bottom fished offshore and done a ton of inshore fishing. But my friend got a bigger boat so hopefully start to cross some more species off the list. BTW I've shared this video with my friends everyone has loved it. Looking forward to the next and seeing what you did with BG. Take care man and keep them coming!!

_I always keep fresh OBX stickers on my trucks. If you're not into Tuna and Mahi fishing you can still hop on those big 100ft Head-Boats like the Capt Stacy down around Morehead City and there's afew around Wrightsville Beach and Carolina Beach. Those Red Snapper and Grouper will melt in ya mouth._

We get a lot of action in Hawaii. Ahi, aku, mahi, ono and marlin. My brother and I go out 200 to 300 yards offshore on the Big Island.

I have caught, cleaned and cooked hundreds of fish...I just feel bad for the blues. They are gonna be gone and it makes me sad.
I just love huge fish, there is something special about pigs that breathe underwater.

Not overly knowledgeable of the Jax area, don't think the big tuna run quite that far south ? Wouldn't mind targeting grouper or the mahi, maybe a chance at a sail ... Not really interested in the snapper or mackerel that I know is in the area.
@@HookLife-bz7pg if you want a mutton over 25, may-june. mangrove over 12, june-august. gag over 40, october-december. you have a better chance at mahi and sails closer to you. we arent fortunate enough to get those tuna in the states south of north carolina

Just like the TV show . . . except without the stock drag squealing sounds, manufactured suspense just before the commercials, unnecessary shouting of unhelpful instructions, "WE"RE GONNA LOSE ITS" and you actually caught other species as well . . . So I guess it's nothing like TV :)
