Thanks for this. I do a lot of backpacking and many of places i fish the shoreline is surround by very thick brush, treking it with a six foot pole is an exercise in frustration. Seen this on amazon and just wanted to see somebody unbox and decribe it if felt decent or not. Which you did. So i will be adding one to my back pack this spring. Cheers!

hey dude,i bought a kit like you, i saw another vídeo talking about the reel and i like it. But im not sure about the fishing rod, what do you have to say about, if i use correctly i can catch a fish with 10lb? the company said that he rod is 15lb

The rod is like a year old now and still going strong. Honestly it has an easy life. My daughters and I sit at the pond and fish for very light little fish. It's never been through a lot but it's a good piece for what it is.
Absolute fishing beginner here… does it make sense to buy this as my first Rod/kit?

It wouldn't be my first choice...but it wouldn't be a bad buy either. It really depends what is in the water...
It's a great rod and reel setup for hiking. For your backpack. I have two of the reels for 5 years. I ordered the pole separately. Good quality stuff. Don't use the extra spool or " basket ".....lol. I'm about to order another reel of the same model just a little bigger. I've used reels for days at a time 3 -4 times a year on trout trips and few times in between. Nothing wrong with them. Don't go buying the cheapest Shimano or Diawa.
@tenuem3604: do yourself a favor, go get a nice diawa spinmatic ultralight rod for 50 bucks and throw another 60 bucks at a daiwa regal 3500 and you’ll be set in heaven. If you want something heavier diawa makes a nice legalis combo (rod and reel). Clip the dumbass hook keeper off the rod as it gets in the way of casting. The combo is 100 bucks and comes in a few different configurations. These polls will last you a hell of a lot longer than telescopic bs. If you’re dead set on compact, diawa also makes travel sized ultralight spinmatic rods. Spend money on quality buddy.
Week review should’ve caught a fish if you’re going to try it out , You can’t really see if it works or not
