I've bought two of the same Sougayilang reels. I've had them for over 5 years. No problems. I did grease them once. I've never had them in salt water. I plan on buying a couple more bigger sizes of the same model. These reels are about $25. I use them for trout and panfish so mine are 1000 size. 😂 I've reeled in 5lb bass though. No problem. I have 1 on a Fenwick Eagle and 1 on a Ugly Stik Pro Lite , they don't make those anymore. I have a Sougayilang rod that i haven't used yet. It seems to be a nice rod. I have no problems with the brand so far.
looking for the follow up on the cheap reels. in need of a new midsized setup and im pretty nice to my stuff. would be amazing to get a 5-6k reel for under 50 bucks and have it last 3-5 years. learning so much from your guys videos, keep em coming!
I can tell you, all are doing well with taking care of them after every use. Tight drag to rinse, soft mitt to soap and water, dry the reels, then air dry for a bit before loosening the drag to store until next use.. Have had zero problems and we're many months into the trials of several.. Hope this helps. We'll create a video end of the season after even more use. Thank you so much for watching, and commenting. Fish on my friend!
I just got mine sougaylang xy4000 reel its suprisingley smooth only issue is with the drag i used it 4 times cought several bass and bluegill with 0 issues good reel for the price and i use reaction tackle 25 pound line and 30 pound and with this combo i can top fish cast with just a frog and cast smoothley good price.
Not quite yet.. We're going to put some more time on them, but I can tell you the few we have are still working well and they're currently being used on charter trips daily and getting beat up pretty good on Bull Redfish, Sharks and have landed a pile of random bottom fish so far. We'll definitely follow up after Spring! Thanks for checking in and commenting. Fish on!
We've got some time on the reels already, but not enough yet. But actually, they're doing pretty well. No issues yet. We'll find out as spring moves forward and better ocean conditions come along, we'll be able to get offshore a whole lot more.
I've had 2 for 5 years. There's no paint flaking off the shaft. There's a little flaking on the little plastic piece on the rear of the reel. It's really a useless piece. Mine are the 1000 size. I've been using them for ultralight trout fishing. One is a backup and the other I use with a sougayilang telescopic rod , but I still make a point to catch a few on them.
@@davidarwood6264 The main shaft is chrome plated, which should be smoother and harder than the underlying metal. That's what's flaking off mine. Glad yours are working for you.

@@bottomfishing24-7 helps a ton! If they are surviving charter use for this long I think they are worth it. Thanks for the response.
