This series is still awesome! I love how it’s a way you think about homestuck but with different emotional focuses like the series itself did. This is what made homestuck kickass, the fact it’s all insanely unexpected but also a coherent story, but when taken out of context you have no idea what’s going on.

this is still like my favourite bit of homestuck fan content that's come out in ages. ligmastuck is awesome
fuck this changed my life. Both this video and the comic's original start. Literally helped me realize that maybe that the rate we improve is meaningless and that maybe everything we hold as an idea of who we are is also essentially meaningless. Essentially I view the amount of information in the universe as an inequality where 0 = equation. I think our view of time increasing is simply a concept as everything else in life, and that the continuity of self-improvement is to help add more to the world than what you take out of it. By assuming an idea we create an information imbalance. For example, the concept of time is that time is increasing, which means time is equal to x. However, that would mean the amount of information in the universe is increasing over time. This means that this information is exhausted in various forms to create a balance. In a way understanding that you are zero information, that the concept of anything existing is Null, and then that the concept of things can eventually be self-evident as they are already there means that their existence is a constant of information.
essentially, when we get to the unconscious I want a scene where John has to bring the better version of himself and teach him by conveying to him absolutely nothing. Essentially, he lets his unconscious become himself and they walk together, eventually becoming one. Then every lesson learned and then forgotten along the way, the true balance, could be taught to his absolute fundamental self. John finally has simply become a stronger person, his control of his self is infinite, because he has become more united with his personal self. Then he just becomes the best person he could be at any moment instinctually. He does this whole process again but faster and faster until he's infinitely perfect in his own reality. As that would mean that he would have the knowledge of the perfect way to exist, his next step would be teaching it to Dave by healing him, and then DAVE STARS IN LIGMASTUCK 2 THE BABY IS YOU EDITION SOMEHOW

One of my favorite things about this is the fact that there’s pretty much a 3/1 John/June ratio, showing that even though John is canon, and will always be more recognized, the fandom will always have a special place in their hearts for June. I know I do.
im going to fucking cry. i remember i started reading ligmastuck like 6 months ago (and i remember being absolutely blown away by the amount of effort put into it even in the first few pages. my expectations were extremely low just from the title but god was i wrong) and i didnt get very far into it at all but upon seeing this good god i need to read it

i love first of all the gorgeously crunch pixels at 1080p, like, yes. yes. i love it. and the 3d render also being done in that resolution is great.
and then second of all the 3D!!!!!!!! its amazing when the thumbnail gif of john doing fortnite dance was foreshadowing the whole time, like. brilliant. and the DESIGNS of the alt johns were so good - did you come up with all of them, or were they community sourced? either way great picks.
this is what meeting your ultself should always look like. this is a bar for mspfa - hell, MSPA itself - being raised. this is the exact kind of escalation out of the medium that hs at its best was always able to achieve, and it's being nailed here too.

Thanks so much! I came up with every Egbert here, more or less. I mean for example the concept of June is not original of course and John in Con Air clothing is in HS itself, but the specific designs are mine (though of course I've been influenced by designs I've seen before).
Also the icon being foreshadowing is a point I haven't seen noticed before! This animation was in the plans from the very beginning, and experimenting with 3D was one of the like 3 things that inspired Ligmastuck to begin with.

So is this John becoming his ultimate self?
Short answer: Yeah, it's like that, pretty much. Not intended to be, but a viewer who isn't interested in Ligmastuck can think of it that way.
Long answer: It's a little bit different conceptually. He is "descendascending" into something that could be called "ultimate tiers", which is a thing in Ligmastuck, but it hasn't been clearly stated what that means exactly (yet? spoilers?). What's been revealed so far I could sum it up as like, if Ultimate Self is every existing self combined, the so-called Ultimate Tiers also include selves that don't exist, but are conceivable (And maybe not exactly enough like the original so that they'd contribute to a Ultimate Self?)
Anyway I leave it at that since I don't wanna even accidentally spoil anything for readers, but Ligmastuck so far elaborates a little more on how it works.
@@Ymilliaine so it’s like how after you godteir and gain easy access to your classpect powers you can continue ascending and gain more mastery not only over your abilities but also the way you interact with narrative elements like talking and holding things. But now your going though the tiers of ultimate self where you’ve gained access to other versions of yourself you can go even further by incorporating and wielding the power of a broadening horizon of what could be considered another version of your self, incorporating selfs of lower substantially and greater variance. Selfs that couldn’t exist in any possible branch of your starting conditions but do/could exist under completely different starting conditions but are still nominally “you”. Not just a unification of all alternate selfs but also notional selfs?

Something Ligmastuck has also questioned (pretty subtly) is what counts as a "starting condition" meta-wise, like for example would the first page of Homestuck count as the same starting condition for a first time reader, someone who has read it all before, and someone who's very familiar with fan interpretations. And going beyond that, though I don't think it has been specifically hinted at yet, would a fundamentally different starting condition still be thought as a continuation of that first page, as what followed that inspired the idea of that condition.
