I wish there was a way to either forward my iMessages to a flip phone or use my iPhone in a simple mode (only camera, calendar, iMessage etc but with boring GUI). Apple Watch sort of does this but I find those even more distracting.

Yes, there used to be a market for something along those lines. They called them lite phones. Maybe they still exist?
