+Chubbs McGabbin Just go into the ArmA 2 editor, spawn a helo, and fly for a few hours. ArmA 3 would also work, seeing as the flight model is pretty much the same (to me, at least)
This reminds me of when my friend introduced me to Arma 2, and then we played the DayZ mod. Seriously though, Arma has one of the most complex control schemes I have ever experienced.
what I like about this art style is that 1: they move with inertia and are cartoonish, like something which is supposed to be entertaining not only on a conscious level, but on the looks aswel. 2: their heads move when they talk...
Arma is not for everyone, and that is OK. Play it for Dayz if you want, but personally I still get the biggest high from a well placed laserguided bomb strike after 2 hours of crawling. I understand if that is not everyones fetish.
"after 2 hours of crawling. I understand if that is not everyones fetish." lol The problem with arma and why people hate it is actually the other way around. The ARMA ai is so dumb that you DON'T need to crawl for two hours. Actually you don't need to crawl at all. And the missions they give you are extremely short and arcadey.
Who the Hell plays Arma missions? 😂 Like we have a shitload of our own, scripted stuff, where AI is so badass that we actually managed to get in so big fubar, that the game duration was 28 hours 😂
***** Well, I have over 1000 and I still think it's great. You need to play with friends or something, even walking long distances can be fun with friends.
i had a moment like in movies i was walking throught the woods next to one of the towns and there were two guys laying there they saw me and unloaded in me i freaked out and emptied a whole clip into them and lived then i walked into a field and was killed by a tank =(
mashman86751 Once I was sprinting 300m while being attacked by a tank with it's main gun, machine gun and something like granade launcher... patata-boom-patata-boom-BOOM-patata-boom-patata-boom-patata-BOOM, and so forth for like 1 minute... that was epic xD
It's not as drab as this song makes it out to be. Playing missions like Escape (chernarus and takistan) with a small team of 4-8 reminds me of movies like Rescue Dawn or Red Dawn.
Are we not going to talk about the fact that they were actually trying to teach him the game to some extent? That alone puts them ahead of most ArmA players.
Haha, perfect. Regular ArmA is pretty underrated. But i like that a tiny percentage of people who bought the game for Day Z are actually playing some missions now.
ya played COD before some idiot in multiplayer started going off at everyone on his team because they got killed, and responded closely in such as you did that COD needs better mechanics
Personally, I think DayZ takes away the action and excitement of ArmA 2. ArmA may be slow paced, but there is eventually a huge payoff. Nothing like leading a tank assault to take an entire town over while friendly jets pick off TOW missile batteries.
Pablo Montes Actually ArmA can be considered a military simulator, as it is one of the most accurate video games on the market, depicting proper combined arms, squad tactics, tactical and strategic maneuvering, and other things not really highlighted on the 'arcade' series of video games like BF, CoD, etc.
Arma: doesn’t have jumping Almost everyone that didn’t know this: What do you mean no jumping Meanwhile everyone who has brain cells: you can’t exactly jump very high with 50 pounds of gear on you along with the fact the humans don’t jump that high to begin with.
From my personal experience, when we carried full pack, gun, vest, etc... When we got bored we started to bunny hop over each others, sometimes we had to tie down people with ropes because they went floating in the air due the fact that gravity has no affect on you when having lots of shit to carry.
Man, I would love one of you keyboard warriors try to tell the drill sergeant that you can't jump with full equipment. Would tear you a new one and insert a spring in the new hole to get your arse off the ground.
Someone tell sfctwZockt that I've add subtitles to all of my videos. You can press the [CC] button to enable them (and they aren't the horrendous auto-generated ones, either). I'd tell him myself, but UA-cam is apparently being a grumpy fart today and won't give me the option to "Reply" to his comment.
1:30 "I say we run and gun." "No, because that's too much fun." Reminds me of the moment I started actually enjoying the game. Due to me forgetting my thermal scope at base, a 10-minute sniper hunting mission at the hills turned to a 30 min session of "Ghillie or Grass". When we finally got the sucker, we realized we were on a hill next to a town full of enemies, in full view of their sights. We realized we were screwed, so my teammate (who was sitting next to me in real life) turned to me and said, dead serious. "Drop all your gear, run to the city, pray no bullets hit you." Miraculously we survived the mad dash down the hill, killed some CSAT with pistol, took their gear, and fought on (we cant escape the town because it's pretty much open terrain around it). In the end we died because while being rearguard I missed a guy on a balcony. The AI just unloaded his fukken Katiba into the small alley we were in.
And if consoles are the automatic sharpener, mobile gaming is a manual sharpener, that you have to pay for to complete every sharpening. Like Candy Crush.
ARMA 2 still had the gear bound to g, so pretty much everyone messed up playing ARMA 3 the first time. A good amount of players shouting "BAD FRAG! BAD FRAG!!" back then in our group... xD
This is so perfect in every level, i was exactly those two veteran soldiers trying desperately to show those newcomers how fucking cool a shooter can be even when we spent more hours planning the mission and loading the vehicles with gear. Most of them just wanted to play DayZ without knowing it was a mod, and most of them left when they understood that you cannot play mods with that free low-res version of ArmA II that Bohemia released. The ones that stayed ended up loving the game. The fact that the veterans were singing while the noob was piloting the helicopter just gave me horrible flashbacks of the dumbasses with no comms boarding the UH-60 on the USS Wasp's deck just to flip the chopper over the sea while everyone else was gearing up, just for us to waste minutes looking at the Chernarussian coast waiting for the new chopper to respawn so that we could do the mission correctly. We always screwed up nonetheless, but at least we screwed up with A+ communications, so we could shittalk each other over who messed the mission up.
Get to arsenal you have 5 minutes. 5 earths laters... Alright mister Dildo Baggins, it's time to go get your as moving. Is he seriously still there changing t-shirts? Man, my wife got pregnant and gave birth already during this whole time. Yo, Dildo. C'mon man. Alright we're leaving without you, fuck this guy. Pilot go, we're not taking him with us. * Helo starts lifting * Wait, wait, c'mon guys. Sorry I was masturbating new backpacks.
I remember my old PC making VERY SIMILAR sounds to this when starting the first ArmA. Especially during that cursed protection test thingy that would fail over and over despite the game being legal.
Arma is arcane, it's a game that is so thoroughly *not fun.* It is a mostly brutal slog through the realities of armed combat, paired with a control scheme made by insane Czechs who firmly believe humans have 20 fingers. Yet, through it all, the Arma community (Which includes me) push through it all and find those moments that make us laugh, and those moments that give us lasting PTSD
I originally planned on getting ArmA for DayZ, but my OA install was totally borked and I only had vanilla ArmA 2 for a week. Long story short, I fell in love with the game. For me, I enjoy mission creation and basically setting up my own personal, single-player Wasteland-esque games. It's the ultimate sandbox, scripting and all.
Well than dayz served its purpose non the less. I actually bought arma for I wasl already fan of the previous title operation flashpoint and I like guns. you made this?
Great idea, I should swap my power button for a pull cord
That actually would be cool and can be made with DIY tricks! This gives me way too much bad ideas XD
Well rip PC!
Last time I played arma was... well.... I crashed a MH-53, fully loaded (I was even carrying a tank), because I was trying to pull a trick landing. I was so ashamed I never logged into another multiplayer game again.
David C I dare you to load into a Multiplayer Game. Can't be worse than FSX Steam.
TheFlyingTank But I... got so many people killed... I just can't.
Just do it, think about the horrid FSX Steam Servers, and i still want to buy the game FFS. You can try. (And End Up TeamKilling)
JUST FUCKING DO IT SON !!!
You're profile pictures explains this
OMG 1:30 had the biggest old Disney cartoons vibe ever! amazing!
Ha, I said that before xDDD
I want to put this on children, not nothing of disney >:( *DISNEY IS CANCER* ...battlefront 3...
I thought the exact same thing
Reason being, it came from the 20th Century Fox movie, Anastasia, which people always seem to think is a Disney movie lol
lolmilly1 I
I actually would have preferred it if it was made in that style the entire time.
This video is the first thing new recruits see when entering my unit's discord. An absolute classic, thank you.
1:53 as an Arma player I take offense to this. C does NOT make you crouch, it makes you stand, X makes you crouch, and Z makes you prone. Can't stand some people these days... *Sarcasm intended*
This is an old song, they were referring to Arma 2 controls
Yeah...That's how it is in Arma 2...
I know, that line physically hurt me.
Jake that guy Depends on how you remap the keybinds. ;-)
My crouch is Ctrl :P take that
i love that Disney vibe from 1:31 to 1:34 thats my favorite scene for sure!
Dalton Pritchard it has a Disney vibe because the tune was based off a song from Anastasia
Micah Corominas he means the looking of the two soldiers are like the dwarves in Snowwhite
Colonel Maize Anastasia isn't a Disney movie.
Same
@@midmin375 don't they own it now?
this is arma in a nut shell but with more kids trying to fly planes and complaining about not being able to quick scope from 500 miles out
only 500? miles
in modded ArmA it is really hard to shoot straight
I can't fly planes :/ can someon give me a lesson?
+Chubbs McGabbin Just go into the ArmA 2 editor, spawn a helo, and fly for a few hours. ArmA 3 would also work, seeing as the flight model is pretty much the same (to me, at least)
Red Deimon nahhh Yeh just need that shoot to kill mentality you be shooting with your regular mx like it was a sniper rifle
7 years and it still looks like a newly made cartoon...very crisp very pleasing
We need more people with this classic style of humor. It's timeless.
Im sure with that.
Nowadays the only jokes people put in videos is memes people won’t find funny in 2 days.
Hoxtalicous Your very Right with that.
@@hoxtalicous8986 yep
This reminds me of when my friend introduced me to Arma 2, and then we played the DayZ mod. Seriously though, Arma has one of the most complex control schemes I have ever experienced.
Tracer Cruz But once you master it you become such a better player
Petyo11 That story is 4 years old, bro. I have become a much better player.
Weren't you in one of SovietWomble's DayZ Bullshitteries?
Jak Hawkins lol go figure
try out nethack for true pain
Don't press G in Arma 3 if you want to check your inventory while you are with your buddies. It will blow them up.
Learned this the hard way....
Done that so many times.
Bohemia are such trolls. cant count the times i've screamed "ranaweee!!!" in a girly manner ^^
john knudsen I killed half my team in zues yesterday trying to open a box :L
Funny thing is that this is so fucking true, killed 5 teammates.
9 Years later and nothing has changed. Still helpful for new players, catchy rhythm, awesome lyrics, great voice acting, and overall an absolute bop.
what I like about this art style is that 1: they move with inertia and are cartoonish, like something which is supposed to be entertaining not only on a conscious level, but on the looks aswel. 2: their heads move when they talk...
That opening: PC Master Race
Love it
Pc master race? I think the not.
Ignore the 'The' in my first reply
Fuck that
PC master race
PC Master Race *Bows*
I just love how much this just screams out disney
Tru' so tru'
It is based on a song from a movie made by Disney
oh i know where the song comes from, Anastasia (great film) but it was actually made by Fox Studios and was distributed by 20th Century Fox.
nicolas B. Not made by disney
I actually think the Army could base a song after this
right?... so you gonna re-enlist? pop. gone.
Arma is not for everyone, and that is OK.
Play it for Dayz if you want, but personally I still get the biggest high from a well placed laserguided bomb strike after 2 hours of crawling. I understand if that is not everyones fetish.
"after 2 hours of crawling. I understand if that is not everyones fetish."
lol The problem with arma and why people hate it is actually the other way around. The ARMA ai is so dumb that you DON'T need to crawl for two hours. Actually you don't need to crawl at all. And the missions they give you are extremely short and arcadey.
AI can be scripted to a degree they spot you hundreds of meters away. Missions they give you? We make our own.
Who the Hell plays Arma missions? 😂
Like we have a shitload of our own, scripted stuff, where AI is so badass that we actually managed to get in so big fubar, that the game duration was 28 hours 😂
The best is being a rotary pilot landing a black hawk on the side of a mountain to pick up HVTs, rotor blades inches from the ground
@@cpt.ronaldsparkyspeirs9380 28 hour long arma mission? That sounds fucking dope if everyone stayed on the server :P
Wanna hear a joke?
DayZ stand alone
Want to hear a joke? Your grammar.
Wanna hear another joke?
Escape from tarkov will be better than dayZ
Shush you, and let me hope in peace.
*WHEEZE*
DingDong but it is, dayz is still shit
That animation at 1:32 is crazy good. Well done.
What kind of Disney looking dance is this?
Old players: so let's go to that far door over there and go to the next area.
Me: *Casually clipping through wall with v*
i cant believe people think this game is boring
***** Well can you blame it? It is a war simulator, it's mean't to be realistic.
***** You needed 500 hours to figure out if the game is boring or not?
Chipper Python-Seven It is actually fun if you join a MILSIM unit like mine.
***** Well, I have over 1000 and I still think it's great. You need to play with friends or something, even walking long distances can be fun with friends.
Keith Hammond I think it was a joke since he actually spent 500 hours in the game excluding DayZ
I play Arma regularly.
Sometimes you get moments where you just gun guys down.
i had a moment like in movies i was walking throught the woods next to one of the towns and there were two guys laying there they saw me and unloaded in me i freaked out and emptied a whole clip into them and lived then i walked into a field and was killed by a tank =(
Glory to arstotzka. But first papers please
Glory to Artotzka!
mashman86751 Once I was sprinting 300m while being attacked by a tank with it's main gun, machine gun and something like granade launcher... patata-boom-patata-boom-BOOM-patata-boom-patata-boom-patata-BOOM, and so forth for like 1 minute... that was epic xD
It's not as drab as this song makes it out to be. Playing missions like Escape (chernarus and takistan) with a small team of 4-8 reminds me of movies like Rescue Dawn or Red Dawn.
Just play Tarkov, its all the pain of Arma but without any rewarding feelings at all
Tarkov is mostly CQB, only in woods you'll get some long range shots
Got both installed, can’t wait
arma is rewarding?
@@calicat4651 yes, the rewarding feelings you get are many, be it teamwork or happiness or a heavy weight getting removed from your shoulders
@@frontlinetomcat Game was boring as shit and essentially just a walking simulator where you occasionally get shot at from nowhere and run away
Are we not going to talk about the fact that they were actually trying to teach him the game to some extent? That alone puts them ahead of most ArmA players.
Yes.
The best kind of players in a Videogame.
I just realized this was a parody of "learn to do it" from Anastasia, I've known about this song for 3ish years
Haha, perfect. Regular ArmA is pretty underrated. But i like that a tiny percentage of people who bought the game for Day Z are actually playing some missions now.
I bought arma 2 just for dayZ XD i played through the missions anyways to get a feel for the game
ya played COD before some idiot in multiplayer started going off at everyone on his team because they got killed, and responded closely in such as you did that COD needs better mechanics
***** I've played Arma well before Dayz....Dayz ain't a plague its fun for a hour or two but it gets boring quick still not a plague though.
***** you are a sad sad little man..
*****
That's the sad thing.
Personally, I think DayZ takes away the action and excitement of ArmA 2.
ArmA may be slow paced, but there is eventually a huge payoff. Nothing like leading a tank assault to take an entire town over while friendly jets pick off TOW missile batteries.
DayZ is basically zombie simulator while ArmA is a military simulator
I think it's great that they've made DayZ a standalone. Both are great, but separately and in their own respects.
***** Then there's no such thing as a 'war simulator' in general.
***** wasn't the 'Amercia's Army' series here developed for the US army?
Arma: doesn’t have jumping
Almost everyone that didn’t know this: What do you mean no jumping
Meanwhile everyone who has brain cells: you can’t exactly jump very high with 50 pounds of gear on you along with the fact the humans don’t jump that high to begin with.
@@hafor2846 probably right thing is my comment was a joke kinda like the video it’s simply to poke fun at things.
My bad. But I never look at the buttons and didn't knew there is something like that. ty
Good on you I wish more people would add proper subs not just using the youtube crap
WE NEED MORE VIDEOS!
When are you going to add another video?
Why arent you making videos i now its hard to make animasen but 1 year past
before you made a video an posted it.
Just imagine if Arma plays this song everytime u open the game
I'd listen.
Make mod for it
6 years later in this still represents the game perfectly even arma 3
Me playing arma 3 for the first time:
"Well, I watched that video that explains the controls time to check my gear"
*Wait a second thats not my g--*

“I” is the new check your gear
In an fps game, "g" is ALWAYS grenade.

Don't mind me, I'm just coming back here for the masterful accordion playing.

I love how even 10 years later this song still rings true for us arma players
I'm rolling in fits. Seven years in this game from Flash point to current & you summed it all up in a three minute video and it's perfect. Subscribed.
1:30 "I say we run and gun." "No, because that's too much fun."
Reminds me of the moment I started actually enjoying the game.
"Drop all your gear, run to the city, pray no bullets hit you."
Miraculously we survived the mad dash down the hill, killed some CSAT with pistol, took their gear, and fought on (we cant escape the town because it's pretty much open terrain around it). In the end we died because while being rearguard I missed a guy on a balcony. The AI just unloaded his fukken Katiba into the small alley we were in.
If a PC is a wood chipper, a console must be a pencil sharpener.
And if consoles are the automatic sharpener, mobile gaming is a manual sharpener, that you have to pay for to complete every sharpening. Like Candy Crush.
Damn, that is some smooth animation.
Smoother than the game's. *rimshot*
1:28 I thought, man these are good animated versions of Rangers, the in 1:30 they're Germans of the Eastern Front...
They could be playing a ww2 mode in the second scene
never has their been a song so true, especially the ptsd part, even more with mods
FAAAAKE. Frames per second too high.

10 years later and its still a banger
Taking a wild guess the player joined a Dayz server

David Nagel well at the end there's zombies

Ya gotta be shittin' me!
In Arma, there are no basics.
There are basics like how to open your inventory, sprint, aim, zoom in, ect.
Just had to ruin it didn't you.
" The G key - makes you check your pack"
Ah good ole noob prank
Zeus Curator: Alright everyone, get to the Arsenal dress up for the Op.
10 years later: *Still getting prepared*
Get to arsenal you have 5 minutes.
5 earths laters...
Alright mister Dildo Baggins, it's time to go get your as moving.
Is he seriously still there changing t-shirts?
Man, my wife got pregnant and gave birth already during this whole time.
Yo, Dildo. C'mon man.
Alright we're leaving without you, fuck this guy.
Pilot go, we're not taking him with us.
* Helo starts lifting *
Wait, wait, c'mon guys. Sorry I was masturbating new backpacks.
Man you’re extremely talented at animation.
In short, Arma II isn't about shooting. It's about not being shot.
I have been coming back to 1:30 every day for the last 3 weeks. The animation is so reminiscent of old cartoons
I flippin' love how this is a parody of 'Learn to Do It' from Anastasia, it's fantastic xD
So smooth it hurts my eyes but I still liked it
I remember my old PC making VERY SIMILAR sounds to this when starting the first ArmA. Especially during that cursed protection test thingy that would fail over and over despite the game being legal.
I actually played in the ensemble when we did Anastasia at my school and every time they did “learn to do it” this is all I could hear in my head
Ive tried Day Z, you really gotta be a mindless zombie to play that.
Yeah no.
I will never get tired of your animations, I come back to them every year enjoying them just as much as I did when I first saw them.
this recommended 6 years later
I've listened to this song 33 times in one day
Everytime we recruit a new member to our Unit... this is the 1st video they get to watch lol
Its funny because i bought Arma 2 CO for Dayz and i ended hating Dayz and playing Arma for over 500 hours...
Me too XD
I originally planned on getting ArmA for DayZ, but my OA install was totally borked and I only had vanilla ArmA 2 for a week. Long story short, I fell in love with the game. For me, I enjoy mission creation and basically setting up my own personal, single-player Wasteland-esque games. It's the ultimate sandbox, scripting and all.
Well than dayz served its purpose non the less. I actually bought arma for I wasl already fan of the previous title operation flashpoint and I like guns. In dayz I met a friendly player who like dguns as well and made get gun license to go shooting on the range and now I have my own guns and I go on IPSC shooting competiotions .
I haven't played an arma game since arma 2 and this brings back all the memories
Arma actually gets intense as fuck sometimes
+Jeramiah Gatza Pisses me off that everyone just gets it for the survival shit and skips some of the really good gamemodes like Insurgency, Domination, King of the Hill, Tactical Realism, Invade and annex etc.
+ZoliantaoTechnology I wish more people played Invade and Annex and domination, they were some of my favorite tactical coop modes but now there is only a couple small I&A servers and no one playing Domination, King of the hill is okay when you get to around lvl 20 and can fly the A-143 Buzzard
Real arma players don't play scenarios they create their own missions.
THE SONG IS A LIE.
C is not crouch by default, X is. C is stand up.
You think that's a lie, lets just say that by default the G key isn't the "check out whats in the ammunition crates" key.
BFGfreak Is this about them changing it to the "throw a grenade" button in ArmA 3?
If it is, I assure you that at the time I recorded this song (ArmA 2), G made you open your inventory.
***** that is true for arma 2
OMG he left a comment

because its actually somehow true XD
what do you mean actually somehow? It is...
"If you can learn to do it...
I can learn to do it!
I can't wait to take my gun
And actually shoot it!"
This gets me everytime!
This was the most german thing i've ever seen
sadly their is no German faction in ARMA, unless mods
I mean the animation. I don't know why, i just think it's german. The music, characters...
+Weegee Spaghetti I know there is a NATO faction, but most of the vehicles/weapons are U.S or based on the U.S, and the opposing Force is obviously Russian.
To me it looks Disney af. There is absolutely nothing German about it
Luuk van den Berg you think it's German just because of the helamts
