Never gets old watching this gem. Listening to those Boston College losers chanting "overrated" moments after Ed Reed ran back the interception / strip to seal the win ... pure comedy and classic deflection. Y'all had the top team in the nation on the ropes and had your hearts ripped out. Suck on it. For all that "Hail Flutie" bullshit that gets replayed, the Canes have done so much worse to the Eagles-yet those games aren't remembered. This 2001 magical win aside, lest not forget Miami's comeback in a 45-44 2OT win at Alumni Stadium in 1997 and that masterful comeback in 1999, down 28-7 late and stunning the home crowd with a 31-28 victory. Both were much bigger than Midget Flutie hucking up a bomb to Gerald Phelan in 1984, when the Canes finished 8-5 year one under Jimmy Johnson-yet the highlight implies the Eagles took down a Canes team on top of the world.
Great to find this game online. That BC missed FG with just over 9 minutes to go ended up being critical. Changed their whole approach on the final drive.
Also I wonder how William Green would've affected the outcome if he hadn't been suspended. Knight did a fine job filling in but Green was an absolute beast at BC. I was convinced he was going to be a superstar in the pros.
@@PFBM86 .... Butch Davis thought the same as well, drafting William Green to Cleveland in the first round in 2002 (#16 overall)-passing on Clinton Portis, who he coached at Miami but had a personality conflict with. Green flamed out fast, while Portis has a great career. All that would've, could've, should've aside-Miami had no issue defensively against Boston College in this game. No reason to think Green would've been some difference maker. Canes' front seven was stacked. The issue was Dorsey's awful day throwing in the wind-four interceptions-while the biggest running back gaffe of the day was freshman Frank Gore fumbling late with Portis out. That fumble cost Miami at least three points, if not seven-which would've pushed the lead to either 15-7 or 19-7 with a few minutes remaining and BC starting a final drive.
... yet Eric Crouch had a two-interception, no touchdown performance in a 62-36 loss at Colorado to end the regular season and still won the award a week later?
Ok...if you say so. You looked great against VaTech. The rest off the season....not so much. But we'll see. You might get us, you might not. It's gonna be a game. Nobody is getting their teeth kicked in.
2:34:00...hahahahaa, crowd chanting "over-rated", Miami goes on to crush Nebraska and win the NC! Not overrated at all, just had an off day and found a way to win anyway. Look back at any great team and you will see a game or two like this on their schedule too.
No, they’re not the best of all time they are a pretender with a bunch of NFL talent lack of mental focus and look saved their butts from getting beat. They should have been beaten by BC BC gave the game away. They didn’t earn it watch the film.
No they were not the best of all time. The best of all time does squeeze by against an I ranked BC that they should have lost to. The best of all time plays more than 1 top 10 team. The only rope 10 team they beat was NU in the title game but that team just got shelled by CU 62-36 and really wasn’t a Top 10 team either so to summarize 2019 LSU, 2004 USC and 1995 NU would have destroyed this pretender of a team!
They were the greatest team of all time. There is ALWAYS going to be a day filled with adversity. How you handle it decides whether or not you hoist the trophy.
Talent and NFL players alone doesn’t make u the greatest team of all time. UNRANKED BC should have beat this team. They did beat this team on the field. The score doesn’t indicate that but they beat them and u can’t be the greatest of all time losing to or even coming close to losing to unranked BC. Yes their defense was stout and held opponents to less than 10 a game but they would have given up 30 or more to LSU 2019. When u don’t play anyone worth a crap it is easy to pad stats
This team may have had the most collection of talent on a team and the most NFL draft picks but to only beat 1 top 10 team and that being in the National Championship Game and should have lost to this unranked BC team needing a missed field goal and ricochet INT when BC had the ball 1st and Goal on the 9. Had BC made the field goal with 9 minutes left would have only needed another inside the 10 to seal the game. This great offensive team did not score a single offensive TD against an unranked team. No way this team deserves to be called the greatest college football team of all time
Wrong!. Let me educate you buddy...The Hurricanes averaged 42.6 points per game and allowed just 9.75 points per game. They didn’t just put up great stats because of playing in the Big East; they killed opponents from other conferences. In five non-conference games, four of those from a Power Five conference, they averaged 44.4 points and gave up just 12.4. Those teams were Penn State, Troy, Florida State, Washington, and Nebraska. The defense not only kept teams from scoring, but also scored quite a bit themselves. Throughout the season, the Canes’ defense allowed just 13 touchdowns, but scored eight of their own on turnovers.
None of those out of conference teams were worth a shit and none were TOP 10 teams in actuality. The closest NU just got obliterated by CU to the tune of 62-36 and backed into the the title game by virtue of carnage in other games throughout the country. U are not going to put Troy on a list of non conference games and expect that to carry any weight. Please! That schedule was a joke and any great team would have blown those teams out.
@@gregt4367 Educate yourself a little bit...Most agree that the 2001 team was the best ever..The sheer level of dominance offensively and defensively....No need to elaborate more...Watch the games again..You sound like a butthurt Gayturd or Seminole fan... Apologies if I am wrong about that but.. That's all I have to say here... Goodbye.
MrSophisticatedDude Definitely not a Seminole fan! And I have educated myself and expressed my points very clearly. Miami had great stats yes but they played a shit schedule. Easy to pad stats against that crap. But this game tells u all u need to know. Great offense??? No offensive TDS!!!!! Really against BC??? No other team that is considered the greatest ever has had a game like this. This is awful. BC played there way out of a win here. They should have won this game and all this talk would be moot.
this game does not exit anywhere else online....THANK YOU!!!
😂 at the crowd chanting overrated to the greatest assembly of talent on one team that we have ever seen.
I didn't see '95 Nebraska in this video, where did they sit?
Satirical American your dumb as shit
Satirical American miami would have beaten the shit outta them💀💀

Looks like BC had their punter pulling double duty as field goal kicker that year for some reason... guess it didn't pay off for them.
Also I wonder how William Green would've affected the outcome if he hadn't been suspended. Knight did a fine job filling in but Green was an absolute beast at BC. I was convinced he was going to be a superstar in the pros.

CMB 7686 thanks for the uploads. Was wondering if you could the Tennessee game from 2002? Would really appreciate it.
CMB 7686 I can't seem to find the 2004 miami FSU season opener anywhere. I'm calling on you now to use all of your powers and talents...
LOL Boston College fans calling Maimi overrated. You do that chant when winning not losing.
Butch Davis drafted William Green instead of Portis when he was in Cleveland. Smh
Ed Reed the G.O.AT ! I remember jumping up outta my chair after that play !
Same! I was at my buddies house but there alone. They all hated Miami. (Wisconsin)
Musburger sure wanted Miami to lose. He has always been a Miami hater every since the beating Miami gave Notre dame in 85
41-3 (2012)
sydIRISH don't worry you won't be playing probation riddled, Al golden led Miami saturday....get ready to get your head kicked open.

To be the greatest of all time u have to be able to beat an unranked team on the road below 50 degrees.
Ed Read Pick Six 2:32:38
Oh I know what it was. This explains it. BC was a TRAP game sandwiched between Temple and Syracuse! That’s why it was sooooo close. 🙄
Even after the Pick 6, BC fans still chanting overrated! I didn't realize how close Miami was to losing this game!
Only 1 team came within 14 points of NU in 1995 and they shelled 4 top 10 teams by an average of over 30 points
Miami still would have beaten them
1995 Nebraska greatest of all time!
Who's NU? 😂
LOL: BC fans shouting "overrated" to the greatest college football team of all time
Maybe they were overrated.despite having all that talent, they struggled to beat an unranked Boston College team
Ed Reed is HIM
Guys these days would have took a knee with the ball and game in hand. That's not how Ed Reed played the game.
All I could say to b.c. fans: 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
