Amazing channel; pure classic automotive joy. Cheers from Mexico.
"You're using more of the car." Words of wisdom. The only time I had the chance to drive an E-Type was in the late 1960s in Surrey. It was about a 40 mile drive on fairly open roads. We were followed all the way by a police car.
There was no Moss Box on 4.2's (as Paul Marriner comments as well). And there were already two different kind of seats for S1's, 3.8's had the bucket seats (61 until 64), 4.2's had different ones (64 until 67/68), S2 again different ones... But this one has kind of wrong seats/padding that was never in an E-Type.
Yep, I think you are right, Ian.
The E-Type Jag probably is the most iconic car shape of sports cars and perhaps the most recognisable of all ICE cars.
The V 12 with a few gently mods is a really fun car to drive and is delicious out in the countryside as a GT.
Those E-Type 6 cylinder engines are so nice, I think personally I'd go for the 4.2 :)
Fantastic noise, thanks for sharing.
Good video but sorry to correct you but the gear box is not a moss box the 4.2 had a full sync mesh the 3.8 had the moss no sync in first or reverse
Thanks Paul, yes we stand corrected on this - no Moss box on the 4.2. Sorry, we will occasionally make a mistake with all the cars/technical info. we have to talk about.
@@Barkaways Was the clock not working? That's fixable and worth having done just to complete things.
Electric E-Types? God forbid!
Yes, no Moss box in the 4.2s. Starting with the last 3.8s, Jaguar installed its own gearbox with synchro on all four. Also, those are NOT Series II seats. They are non-Jaguar seats that don't look out of place, but they are not original to any E Type. Good video overall.
Another interesting video thank you Ian.
It's not a Moss Box - that was fitted until Dec 1964 in the 3.8. This car is a 1966 4.2.
Plenty of things "not quite right" with this Jag but as you say, people will mix and match to get the car that they want. It runs, it stops. Job's a goodun.
You are correct, it looks very dirty under the bonnet, shows careless upkeep, interior very bad, seats covered wrong, headliner sagging badly, ridiculous paint around the front, trying to look like a Dtype, owner must be financially struggling and cant really afford this type car.
👏👏👏More video’s please🇦🇺
not series 2 seats not even e-type seats
I'd never let a Timex repair man fix my Rolex..
Gorgeous! I had one once but it was soooo uncomfortable to drive. Cheers, Bob
you think they came out in 61
Take a shot at every nice
👍❤️🔥
this guy knows f all just babbles on
This chap present a car he does not seem to know much about ! In example, the wheels where not something special, they where the one used mostly for racing and readily available. Called "Dunlop' wheels, by the way !!!
And they are not any series seats.
Good oil pressure.....God I'm so geeky.
Steering wheels on backwards...
