Yo Big Sur, CA. Was just there last October. Such a nice area. Also a great place to find Whiskey. Even better if you cruise up to Santa Cruz

I have had a few Weller Full Proof. It's a great $50 bottle of whiskey. I'd go as far as to say I prefer it over Stagg and normally I prefer rye over wheat. Stagg gets younger every year (so does Weller) but I think they've maintained a bit more age to keep the flavor profile in line as compared to Stagg where they kind of do whatever.
Here's my problem with Weller Full Proof... it drinks it's proof, if not hotter, just like most high proof BT products. It's also pretty simple compared to so many of the other offerings on the market. Every BT product has a sugar punch and not many other bourbon notes that I'm looking for. It's great, it's approachable, but it's simple and lacks compared to so many other high proof bottles available for $60-80. The MSRP is great, if the bottle was available. I also HIGHLY prefer full proof over Weller 12, CYPB, and 107. Weller SR is dog water when drank neat but works fine in a mixer.
Outside of BTAC/Pappy I actually think Full Proof is only second to Blantons STFB. Interestingly, I don't like regular blantons but that extra 30ish proof really goes a long way... But I think Jack Daniels SBBP and OF 1920 are better pours than Weller FP. When I blind BT products against other common shelfers they almost always win. Most of the perception around Weller is simply the old hype. Maker's Mark 46 Cask Strength absolutely SMASHES Weller FP. The 46 Cask Str is getting harder to find but it'll always have a home in my house.

You can’t really compare Cellar Aged to Full Proof, IMO. As you mentioned, Cellar Aged is a yearly release whereas Full Proofs are available, just crazy markups. I’m in VA and were gov’t controlled so all of the Weller products are in our yearly state lottery except for SR and 107. You can go to DC, MD, even WV and find FPs if you ask but they’re usually priced at or above secondary prices. Also, I think the Wood Finishing Series is still alive, it’s just been renamed.

Nice, yeah definitely not an apples to apples comparison, just interesting to put two Wheated hitters against each other.

Had several WFP’s and WFP store picks and IMO, 107 is the perfect proof point for it. I like cask strength and barrel proofs, but WFP is pretty hot and funky in a way I just don’t love. 107 is among the sweetest, most smashable bourbons out there.

107 is definitely a good pour for sure!
