I am very proud of the work I have done on the channel, and it wouldn't have been possible without the generous support from a great many fine folks. I think there is value in documenting the history of this wonderful hobby and hope to keep doing it as long as I can.
If you would like to help me then please consider:
    - Adding likes and comments on videos you enjoy as these are hugely important
    - Subscribing to the channel if you haven’t done so already
    - Using my Element Games affiliate link when you purchase your hobby supplies: elementgames.co.uk/?d=11216

Jordan you really have made an impressive contribution over the last year, documenting important history interviewing the people who were there at the time, putting on the record the decisions they made and why, its top quality content by anyone's reckoning. What you've documented will still be being refered to by hobbiests for decades to come. I can only say: keep going! And dont be shy asking for support, anyone who values the history of Games Workshop, the models, the games, and the people who made it happen, should chip in to support quality work if they are able.

I’m a FLGS owner in America and I absolutely love your content. I honestly was more than a little shocked at how low your subscriber and view count were as I stopped paying attention to that kind of thing a while ago and your content is of such a consistently high quality that it just feels like you should be so much bigger. I sincerely hope that everything works out for you, believe me I totally understand how hard and scary it is going all in on your hobby as a profession. But as long as you keep making such great videos I’ll keep telling my customers about your channel. Best wishes brother.

Peachy said that putting a space marine helmet in your thumbnail will double your views, so you know what you've gotta do- suit up Martha! Seriously though, you've done an amazing job over the past year, your videos are always funny and informative and exceptionally well made. I'm honestly so frustrated you don't have more subs, it's not fair. I try to share your videos when I can, there's so much information you've uncovered and combined into one place, you've made so many must-watch videos. I hope more people come to their senses and realise how invaluable your videos are!!

Dear Jordan, I probably started my channel around the same time as you. You have grown much faster - 10x - and you deserve it with your amazing performance and editing skills and great content. Our situations are different as my channel is a hobby alongside a full time job and other creative pursuits, but you are a real inspiration. I hope the next six months works out, and even if you do go back to the corporate arena, you can still find joy in producing videos on the side. I personally find making videos very fulfilling although I doubt I'll ever make any money from it.

Last year my fater was passed away.
I'm very depressed, lonely, and most sadly days I've ever feels. But one day, I've found you started your channel. You talked has show it Games Workshop history, games, and more than. First videos has HeroQuest. My lil teen dream boardgame. I never playing, but I like every concept was started. And you show it, not only show, you storyteller the history. Much nostalgic beacuse my childhood playing a lot of fighting fantasy books, later than boardgame, and finally trying roleplaying game and wargame too was adulthood. Beacuse I see your videos, and I started research wargame hobbies. Find new friends, and trying every wargame, roleplaying game.
And my souls not stressful anymore.
Thank you Jordan. Thank you stated this channel and telling story for old GW stuff. And thank you I found my peace island in my heart again.
I'm not comment every videos. Just silent watching, and sharing your videos. But, I must happy to see your upload new content. I hope so sometimes show it not-GW games. The Star Trek Roleplaying history videos pretty good.
    Keep it up buddy!

I think you're absolutely allowed to say that what you're doing is a hard job. Just because it's 'fun' (in the most inverted of commas) doesn't mean it's not long, long hours of technical work and the stress of running a comms business - and interviewing people is HARD WORK. ❤

  • @matthewdartfordphotography131

I see this a lot in the woodworking UA-cam space - they start the channel, it goes well for a year or two, and then they eventually run out of things to talk about. History of Gamesworkshop is great (some of my favorite vids on YT btw) , but eventually, you'll run out of history to cover....or, at least history that people want to hear about.
But! You mentioned Moonstone, and I think this is where you need to be - New games are amazing, and new games and new content are where you need to be (long term at least). You have an amazing channel, a wonderful presenting style, and a clear passion for the subject. Long may it last!

Hey Jordan, just seeing this now. Just wanted to let you know I really enjoy your content. I started watching your videos about the editions of WFB last year after my daughter was born. They helped me get through some gnarly all nighters and I think she even enjoyed them too! But seriously, I think we're about the same age and my history with the hobby is very similar to yours. I appreciate that your videos are so positive and enthusiastic and demonstrate your passion and a real depth of knowledge and meaningful content. You're one of the few channels that aren't farming clickbait, outrage sentiment, FOMO, cheap 'hack' advice, etc. You seem like a really positive and wholesome guy and it shines through in your content!

In my eyes you are historian and a scholar, in the nerdiest of subjects but still! You have documented and recorded a whole generation of wargame personalities, that makes you a thousand times more valuable than the average click-baity rage content or lore readings from the wikis. I've read *Empire of Imagination* about the genesis of Dungeons & Dragons, and to me there's just something so magical about that time and what an imaginative community created for future generations. Playing games like the A Song of Ice & Fire tabletop miniatures game and Warhammer: The Old World make me feel a connection with the gamers who came before.

Let me be frank: your channel feels like one of those ... fundamental channels, those that just feel like they should be there, if that makes sense. I've enjoyed your conent a quite bit, and as a grognard, I love those deep dives into the history of the hobby. You're doing a phenomenal job, not only entertaining but important as well.
Speaking of being old: I've yet to delve into this patreon or ko-fi thing, but I've never got closer to considering it ...

I just wanted to say that I really enjoy your stuff! I got recommended your history of warhammer fantasy battles series when I was in hospital last december and I really enjoyed distracting myself with that. I never played warhammer or 40k, only started playing bloodbowl a couple years ago but I find it super interesting to hear about all these games. I am now starting old world and so hearing about the history really helps me getting more into it.

As someone who previously ran a similarly successful channel in a very different 'industry' I think it's very important to remember one of the lessons from Tom Scott. Sometimes the content you put the most effort into will be your least successful, and sometime what you feel is your worst, will do the best. What that means to me is that it's ok to balance some less intensive, easier to produce content in with your much more production intense work. Make your job easier when you can to give yourself space to make your truly great content.

Jordan, I truly hope the channel can be sustained and grows. I discovered you some months back now and proceeded to watch through your back catalogue of videos right from the "all the cats in Warhammer" to current, then at some point during that I subbed to your Patreon on grounds of voting with my wallet and as thanks for the hours/days of high quality, in depth work that youve done thus far. You're right that you are and should be proud of what you've done. Certainly interested to learn what these artifcer crafted items you're developing are too. :-)
I hope you're able to continue, not least because you enjoy it and find it fulfilling. It's great that you were able to start doing this more fully to escape a negative situation and I'm glad for you that that was possible.
I've only ever had a fleeting interest in WH Fantasy as WH40K is generally much more my thing, but I really enjoyed your historical dives into the editions of Fantasy and can't deny I'm hoping for and looking forward to anything similar for 40K. You might be right about needing to focus on more recent games/systems, but the diverse range of things you've covered has been fascinating, and as for the range of interviews you've managed to host, outstanding! Those are always interesting, especially for someone like me with 25-30 years of tenure in our hobbies. It'll also be good to see more about how your Marienburg project is coming along, if you've managed to steal time for it.
As the human of four cats, I'm also here to see Martha and the mystery second cat. 😻
If the channel does have to scale back or... worse... then thank you for publishing what you've done and the time and effort you've put in, and I hope any 'traditional' job you might have to obtain is also as beneficial to you. I hope you can continue for as long as you enjoy it; your tone, character and demeanour are always welcome through my earholes. 🎧🫶🏼

Hello. Thanks for this video, it's always refreshing to see these behind the curtain glimpses of the content industry. I enjoyed hearing a bit of your history. As one corpo to another (ex), I hope you never get dragged back in! I'm fortunate enough to WFH so having your stuff playing as an accompanyment to doing emails and spreadsheets is nice.
I'm glad I found your channel, the nostalgia hits have been huge and the knowledge you've recorded and shared has been invaluable to the hobby. Highlights for me so far have been the vids on the birthing of 40k Rogue Trader and Dark Future. Plus, I love the opening/closing violin pieces you have on the channel!
You have some interesting ideas on future content, I have some spit ball ideas for you if you're interested. Regarding the painting streams, that would be cool, I'd watch. Have you considered doing some collab work with some of the larger painting channels, to get your name out there with their big fan bases? Not only could you do actual painting work but maybe you could do a project where you craft some well researched lore to go with some painting or conversion project the pro painter brings to life. It also strikes me that you seem like natural DM material for some RPG streams - could you get a party of people on board for a bit of a dungeon delving stream? I'd personally love to see a bit of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay done right!
I'm interested to see what merch you come up with. The traditional youtuber printed tee or hoodie isn't really for me, but I'd love a cool mug coaster, keyring or other little knick knack I might be able to use or find a home for. Also as a staunch Blood Bowl devotee, can't wait to see what you put out for that one!
Just my two silver shillings, keep up the good work!

I think a fun, semi obscure topic that might get some views would be an overview of the ever controversial Fimir. A history of their design origins, inclusion and then exclusion from the game, and a history of whatever continued presence they had in the lore - all the way up to (if you have the sources for it) were those new lanky orcs an attempt to re-engineer the Fimir themes in a a package without any of the baggage from the lore. (But also sadly lacking the Fimir's excellent and unique model design)

So many people have said it already, but the truth doesn't suffer from repetition; Jordan, your channel is one of my very favorite channels on UA-cam, and your content is top notch. You've landed amazing interviews with industry giants and visionaries, you've done comprehensive histories some of my favorite games, and you retain my interest even when you delve into a topic I know nothing about or interview someone I've never heard of. Your videos fill a valuable niche, informing us of the history of our hobbies and introducing us to the people who helped to shape that history, in some cases who continue to this day to shape it.
Beyond the sheer fact of what your content is and what purpose it serves, your presentation and delivery are engaging and welcoming. You're an excellent storyteller and a captivating speaker.
On a personal level, not only have your videos served to educate, entertain and engage me but at times they've been sources of light on dark days. Seeing a new one in my feed always cheers me up.
My fingers (or tentacles, never could keep away from Chaos...) will be crossed for you over these next six months and hopefully into six years and more. But no matter what, come what may, know that you've created a channel to be proud of, know that you're worthy of all the recognition you've received so far and more.
Thank you for what you've already given us. We'll be here for more for as long as you can provide it.
Also, love to Martha and the secret mystery cat!
