So when I left Pa heading to TN for too this year, my mother had finally drank herself to homelessness. Wasn’t sure what was going to happen to her. Knew she was staying at shelters and shit. Can’t believe this was the only show I got in the pit for. At the start of the song he said anyone that has someone dealing with addiction, this songs for you. Instantly had me frozen and choked up. Then I listened to the lyrics and couldn’t stop bawling. It helped heal me for sure. Amazing how someone I never met can say and feel exactly what I’ve been feeling my whole life. Roo changed my life. It healed me. Ty for this Lumineers
Had the exact same experience dude. Drove from NY to TN, friend of mine killed himself on that Thursday back home after a life of depression, alcohol, and drugs and this is the only concert I hopped in the pit for. This song was perfection. Had me crying my eyes out and everything.
@@keithbliska6465 sorry for the late response. I feel that man. Hope you’re living your life to the best you can reguardless of what your family issues have caused ya. I sure am trying my best.
Really similar build up like in Slow It Down (which I mean in the best way). When I first listened to this, I got intense chills with the "give back my keys"" line which broke the instrumental rise. Great Song!
Стейси Рэндолл I’ll give it a try lol: Every night I saw you there In your old [another word] chair ooooh You were wrong I was right Didn’t matter in any fights ooooh Coffee Mug, filled it up Always knew what it was ooooh Been on your side for years You couldn’t love without crying ooooh Is she dead, is she fine. Every day every night Fate has dealt me a lonely blow (I said?) Tried to help it only hurt In the end it made it worse Is she dead is she fine Every day every night. Give back my keys. Give back my chair. Take back those clothes that you Always left on the floor. You drove me wild. Drove me insane. Drank the whole bottle And forgot my name. All I ever wanted was a mother for the first time. Finally I could see you as the leader of the landslide. She left, she left the writings on the wall Please believe I smell the alcohol. The only thing I know. Is that we’re in too deep. And maybe when she’s dead and gone. I’ll get some sleep. You blame it all on your kids We were young, we were innocent. You told me a lot. Fuck you for that. Fuck all your pride and fuck all your (not sure) All this time I waited like a fool and for the first time. Finally I could see you as the leader of the landslide. She left she left. The writings on the wall. Please believe. Don’t answer when she calls. The only thing I know. Is that we’re in too deep. And maybe when she’s dead and gone. I’ll get some sleep. I was out there on my own. I was feeling so alone. Like a (not sure) guy In the afterlife. Fading by degrees. I was shaking in the knees In the aftermath of this broken glass.
