Nice. A second set for the Ages. Thank you ☆☆☆
I love it when someone sets us uP like you ✨❤️🙏❤️✨
What an incredible show and excellent quality of recording! Wow
Thank you so much
My first rock and roll concert ever. I was a classical music guy who was "fortunate" to have a New Jersey roomie my first year in college. He bugged the shit out of me about the Grateful Dead and I finally told him that I would go and see them if he would just shut the fuck up about them. Once I got on the bus, I never went back. Listen closely.... you can hear a 19 year old me having his mind blown, sitting two rows behind the soundboard in the Fabulous Fox (first time there too.... what a magical place!!!). What a wonderful band. What a time to have been alive!!
It still is my friend.
Best type of baptism by fire.
You dodged a bullet my friend. Given that Hes from Jersey it could have just as easily been Springsteen.
Fantastic story! You sir are lucky!
Just 11 days before this show I wandered wide-eyed into the Boston Garden at age 15 and walked out on a different path. I consider the privilege of seeing the Dead in May '77 to be one of my life's greatest turns of fortune.
HOLY MARY MOTHER OF GOD THIS IS A GOOD SHOW!
This is a good show. I agree. But who is Mary and whatever is God?
@@marcuswatt9727 Trusted friends of ours. You should get to know them a bit.

@@gregberry1812 the best of friends!!
You can say that again, one of my favorites. The Englishtown show on September 5, 77' is my absolute favorite, the only way to hear it is to buy the CD, Dicks Picks. I'm prejudiced tho', cause I was there!
As with most of '77, firing on all cylinders here!
T'was a very good year 🎶✌
OMG, what a funky Jack-O-Roe
My favorite little performance from rhythm Bob
Dude. Tight
Amazing show. Jerry consistently hitting the brain's G spot
Lol,♡it-n-H€R€
Perfectly put
100 %
lol..well said.
The eyes on this show is my favorite from 77. Exquisite playing
And it might be the best of all time. Some people are partial to the 73' and 74' versions bc of the jam that follows, but this one is still my favorite. Love 9/2/78 and 3/29/90 (with Branford Marsalis) as well
Agree
Northern Alberta, Canada here 🇨🇦 👍🥶😎😁🎶🎵🔈🔉🔊‼️Just Diggin' The Good Music!! Turn it Up!! Just now cruisin' with Cassidy to Goosebumps City!! Awesome!! Thanx for your appreciation with the Heart!
This whole show is wonderful. The recording is first rate too. The Stella Blue is out of this world.
If Jerry's guitar doesn't make you feel something, I don't know.
Don't forget Bob!
...And Phil
So Fuckin true
I've learned thru the years...when it comes to Jerry there are only two kinds of folks... one's that get it and then the rest
The Dead is the closest window into the soul.
I love the Fox, I was in the most beautiful dress ever that night. 1920 silk dress from Paris, hand sown rhinestones, silk, everyone hand sown, it was a masterpiece, I was 18, Jerry stared at me all night, it matched that incredible theatre. Thousands of diamonds. I should be arrested, for what happened to that dress, it did not survive that night, I can see it made history though. Thank you for this treasure, peach tree Atlanta Georgia, another life 🌸👼💕🌷
love to hear the total story---i bet ur still as beautiful!
Your comment gave me chilly bumps! Just wow!
Best Dead Run EVER: 5/17-5/28....Alabama to Hartford. I'm not big on the Cornell show like so many others, I think the real tour started with these shows for sure. Unreal 🤩
Hey Now!! Pristine sound on this stellar morning! Thank you Wall of Sound!! 🌅
Wall!! The king Jack A Roe wow!!! This may be the thing to bring me out of my half year Wall induced 71 binge
YUP !
This band just keeps giving...It's nice to find hidden jems/jams every once in a while...
Killer Jack a Roe I concur !!!
Thank you, once again you have shared a vintage show with all of us .Every time I get a notification that you have downloaded another GEM, I can't wait to hear it!! Thank you for all of your efforts,PEACE and health to you and your family. 💥🔥🌹💙✌😎⚡⚡
I lost my eldest sister to the plague this Memorial Day weekend, and I’ve been hearing Brokedown Palace in my head since this posting popped up. This is a spectacularly played and sung version, and has been a sweet sad consolation to me. Many heartfelt thanks , WOS. 🙏
Your note brings a tear to my eyes. Best wishes to you and yours.
Stefanie your in my prayers dear. God bless to you and your family. Jerry has crooned me through some tough times. He's always felt like a actually Friend to me, probably you too. 🙏
Music unites us, it”s like she fills your soul. Be well my friend.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing some wonderful old blue eyes hippy man! Miss him and your sis. Didnt know her but if this reminds u of her I love her. They're partying up there having a grand old time. Thanks again.
2 times twice on Sundays!

One of the best performances of Estimated Prophet here. Excellent show all around.
This show lives in the shadow of the famous show just a day afterwards. But this show is every bit as good. And the Estimated > Eyes is an all time great imo
Jerry Deals the goods right out of the box with both vocal and riffing. Looking forward to the rest of this. Cheers!
(Update) wow diggin this on a sunny porch in S. Oregon. The balance of this mix is exquisite. Squinting my ears at end of set 1, volumes on every instrument is near perfect. Jerry centered, Bobby right and Keith left (and playing really well!) in perfect balance. Nice and warm too. Yum!
And i gotta say, just seeing the words Brokedown Palace on any set list, and my heart just melts a little in my chest.
Anybody else get that? ❤️⚡❤️
Regarding Brokedown I would have to agree.
You hit all the nails on the head, man.
I remember it so well. Most moving performance of Stella Blue I ever experienced.
The Ship of Fools and Stella Blue are the best versions I've ever heard. Definitive versions here, in my book. The Stella is so gentle, everybody in the band is being ever so careful with it. Absolutely beautiful
My favorite Eyes of all time. Check OUT THIS EYES OF THE WORLD if you haven't yet...
Perhaps its "THE" Eyes I was told were from Egypt.
I agree. I have severe case of goose bumps listening to this eyes of world. The Dead r in their own musical class.
Oh Jack, joyful sadness too be alive. I love this guys beyond words. Grateful forever
Wow this is a fucking heater! Im trying to go back and listen to full shows I haven't heard before and this is for sure in top 10! They definitely do the damn thing and the thing happens. You can feel the psychic connection fucking decades later through a UA-cam video!
Fabulous all the way through but what a stellar Stella.
Grazie!!!! WOS!!!! Clear! Crisp! And clean sound!!! Grate Weedend 🙏💯❤️💨💨💨✨

Amazing choice of songs by Jerry with the rare High Time. He’s spot on the whole show barely missing a note.🐊🥀✌️
I have listened to almost nothing other than live Dead shows and the JGB for the past 5 years and it’s shows like this that explain why. It’s all so classically loose and seemingly ready to fly apart and skid right off the rails but somehow they keep it moving up, up and away. Jesus it’s great music.
Nothing but Dead for so many years. I have to assume it's going to be like this forever at this point. Fine by me. I was born into this culture and I'm happy to die there.
I have to have a bit of contrast occasionally but always seem to find my way back.
@@captntrps I'm 63, and love the thought that as much as I love the Dead, and as much as I listen to these shows, that I'll die before listening to all of it. Play around the Dead collection at archive.org, it goes on for days. Keep the Dead alive!
Same, except sometimes I mix it up with occasional death metal or Primus, along with some Allman Brothers Band, Boston, Zappa, The Beatles, and The Shaggs. There's more but I ain't going down the list right now because nobody cares lmao
Any show with a Lazy Lightening/Supplication is top notch in my book. Phenomenal show. And this recording is primo! NFA⚡️💀🥀
Epic sound!!! Once again Wall of Sound much appreciated! This is a great way to wind down after a magical warm spring day in the beautiful South Carolina mountains with my family.
From Greenville SC, I am 47yrs old and was fortunate enough to see the dead in 94 in Charlotte NC the year before Jerry passed away but hell what a gem even though I was only 3yrs old at the time but became a deadhead by 12yrs old and to me 77 was the year and would have loved to have been old enough to catch one of those shows especially this one so close to home ✌️my Carolina friend
Exquisite ...thanks to the good ol'Grateful Dead, tapers, mixers and uploaders. My world would be a less joyful place without ye.🤗😀
May 18th 1977 what's close to the weekend of my senior prom and I was a nubile dead fan. My first dead show is at Dillon Stadium 1973 and probably buy then had seen them 3 times.been a lifelong fan ! And at 62 Can't Get Enough
THANK YOU sir... Best copy I've ever heard. More attention perhaps gets focused on the following 5-19 @ the Fox and its remarkable 2nd set, but this show is every bit as good.
I concur! Go 🐅🐯 Tigers!
Absolutely 💯
Much obliged, never miss a wall of sound sunday post!
Played the 17th of May last week (off the box set), so this is a great follow on for me. Ta from England WOS
Indeed....nearly 40 years of tape trading and this show somehow always eluded me, but now here it is. Downloaded, remastered to perfection and burnt to CD, ready to trade in the old school/new school kind of way. Thank you Thank you Thank you...!!!
Another gem from Spring 77 N.F.A 65-95!!!
My favorite Stella
At the 1:55 minute mark, Jerry is on fire with those riffs and phrasing! Mahalo for sharing!
Love your ups my friend! so bummed about the takedowns. Especially ridiculous considering we've all been sharing this music for decades.
Used this show to introduce my sister to The Dead a few years back. It was on her 18th birthday.
Yaaaay so great sounds heavenly!
Yes, jam guys, jam it out of Supplication, jam it to the moon and the stars, dance with the Sun and with Mars
Beautiful Brokedown Palace.
The WALL OF SOUND is the WALL OF EXCELLENCE!
It was 'high time', that I got to hear a live High Time. Sweet. Ty, for this wonderful show.
Lazy Lightning- pure Dead Jazz...
This second set is so amazing. Jerry has such smooth vocals and plays so fast , you can hear Bobby and Phil is in the zone. Bill and Mickey staying on the skins and not just the symbols. And Keith using both hands on the wheel. Donna’s loud enough. This Eyes is so 77”. Ty
2 days ago, this show was last month 44 years ago
Quite clear and rollicking tone
so pretty!! Friend o the Devil,......sublime!
Heylooo KATH 👋
Another Stella "77" show. Maybe one of the best "Eyes Of The World" ever. Magic
Something about a opening deal that really sets a mood
This band just keeps giving...It's nice to find hidden jems/jams every once in a while...
AMAZING Stella , eye of the world jackaroe, Cassidy, Stella, I could on for every song. , ,Jerry just rips througevey song the whole band is tight and ripping!!!
The Dead have put such a profound mark on my heart...I actually viewed my own life in such a manner that friendship and love have just poured out!
My new favorite version of Ship of Fools... thanks for sharing. My previous favorite ship was from 5.9.77...
Spectacular Jack-a-roe
I had this on tape as a kid!!!!
to all budding drummers, listen or play along to Deal, prime example of a shuffle feel, sounds simple, but if u can sustain that for 5 minutes you're on your way! the Dead just keeps on giving foeks
`
jack-a-roe
Great concert, thanks for uploading 😊
From the 5/18/77-5/28/77 is the best of the best year ever in the gr8fuldead history we all can agree on that , but the bar gets Raised so high for end of spring 77 - I mean all what 7-8 shows & actually til the Winter and shows they were on a different planet of pure euphoria I can't believe how much I love those days from 77 the best in all the tour and only the magnificent. Gr8fuldead can do that magic thing that only THE LORD CAN EXPLAIN THE SHIT THEY WERE NOT EVEN KNOWING THAT BEAUTIFUL AND I MEAN BETTER THAN SEX SHIT HAPPEN BUT IT Y THEIR THE 1 THE ONLY GR8FULDEAD... GOD BLESS EM..
77 was a magical year for the band. Thanks for sharing this and doing all you do.
Timeless. Tremendous. We are so lucky to be here.
i've been listening to the dead for like the past 3 days straight. finally getting back into them. so excited.
They just sounded so amazingly fresh and inspired back then.
...the emotional energy and pure joy he was able to summon night after night, year after year...
Excellent once again. Thank you!! Good to see you back. Waiting on the multiple CD box to come out!
A mere 7 or 8 years later I would witness my first show in the jewel of Atlanta ( Oct. 29/ 85’) I got on the bus that night and never got off 😉🇺🇸
Phenominal thanks for this Grateful, Dawn
This is such a good one, thank you!
I’ve been listening and following the greatest band in the universe my way of life
OMG this holds up so well!! Thanks for the drop!
A fantastic show. Thanks for the upload sir. Sound was fantastic.
Ahhhh yes! I was at this show!!
Sweet memories.
*HAPPY NEW YEAR Y'ALL!*
Thank you! 💀🥀
Thank you
Well, WOS.....Is that not the best Peggy-O you have ever heard? A kind of 18th Century Scottish, then passing thru the American Civil War era bossa nova rhumba. Fabulous. I wonder if they ever played it that way again. The rest of the show is all wonderful!
Hey now! I want to hear a best-of, 18th century Scottish via US Civil War Peggy O! Where is it? Not seeing it in the setlist. If it's a different show (mayhaps the 19th?), let us know which one it is!
@@WallofSound65 Jeez. I crossed my Peggy-O's with my Jack-A Roes! Too many drugs in college. I still love this version better than any I have heard!
@@danielthomasmoran just the right amount of drugs. Both are songs of loss and war. Both have ships. Both have the protagonist going to extreme lengths for the one they love.
@@WallofSound65 I would concur. It was probably the right amount of drugs but I cannot remember! I might add that one of the things that has made The Grateful Dead perhaps America's greatest contributuon to music is that they not only do all kinds of music, but that they have brought so many traditional songs back to life in such remarkable ways. Among their many talents is how literary they were in their interests. And thank you WOS for the imprtant part you play. For many of us, each of these shows might as well have just happened today and your postings preserve the mystique of the band for those who were there, and those who wish they were there. Cheers, Mate!
The FotD on this one is my favorite.....unbelievably sweet sound ✌❤
Beautiful different show. Blessed!
Oh man I’m so happy when I see these
“new” shows go up 😊
You ROCK!! ✌️❤️🙏🎶
Smoker of a show from a great year in Dead history! Truly epic! Thank you for this post!
Thanks , WOS it's that shuffle beat on the drums. Sooo Good . Needed this...
Thank you again, Wall! I made these two Atlanta shows and Tuscaloosa just before. Super hot Dead period for me! This brings back great memories! Check that T Town show if you haven’t! Best “Samson and Delilah” and “Jack” I can remember! That Jack is the one that made Phil Zone.
oh shit, here we go baby
As usual another smokin hot 77show. Great job , thx for sharing. Can't say enough how great the band sounds. Keep up the good work.
