    I attained Samadhi two years ago and haven't been able to get it back. It happened at the lowest point in my life. I was dying on my bed blaming the world. Then I began to feel pity. Then, I resigned to die and suddenly I felt the greatest compassion for the world that I had ever felt. At this time, I pictured a flame in my mind and suddenly there was no difference between me and the Flame. I was a flame for all intents and purposes.
    The supreme method to enter Samadhi is effortless; Samadhi isn't supposed to be difficult, atomism gets in the way.
    For those who cannot embody the supreme method, there are crude methods which can aid one in entering Samadhi. I will list as many as i can conceive of:
    Through complete physical exhaustion one may forget the indivual self and enter Samadhi.
    During hypnagogia or hypnopompia one may forget the indivual self and enter Samadhi.
    Through unbound compassion one may forget the individual self and enter Samadhi.
    Through visualization of a flame (or any object) one may forget the individual self and enter Samadhi.
    Through altruistic actions one may forget the individual self and enter samadhi.
    Through perfect absorption meditation one may forget the individual self and enter Samadhi.
    Through perfect absorption in sound one may forget the self and enter Samadhi.
    After purification through penance or abnegation, with the removal of guilt, one may forget the self and enter Samadhi.
    To enter Samadhi is to transcend the Jiva, or the illusion of individuality.
    In order to prepare the mind for the Ultimate Reality it can be useful to decondition oneself from cultural programming-to transcend the illusion created by the corporate fiction called society.
    Ultimately, The way to enter the higher states of consciousness is to purify thought until the true reality becomes manifest. Theres is no need to do stretches nor poses nor asanas nor mudras. There is no need to become vegan, unless meat eating is a cause for guilt within your illusion. One must remove doubt and exude trust and utter honesty within oneself.

    Thank you for sharing your two samadhi experiences, because I needed to hear this to understand what I had. The other night, for the first time in my life, I experienced what you described in this video as Samadhi - just blackness and silence of the mind, trancelike. I have had no meditation training, and I had my eyes closed, but for me, my physical eyes also opened for what felt like around 3 minutes, and I found I did not need to blink at all. The room was mostly dark, but blackened even more after about a minute despite my eyes being open. Thoughts would pop in and then I would blink, but the thoughts generally felt like they were disconnected and distant. My 3yo son was sleeping in my arms at the time also, and I had my usual chores to get to. But I had to apply effort to exit the state, which lasted probably 20-30 minutes. What was odd is that when I came downstairs and turned on my computer, the time showed 11:11 and the date 11 November 2022. This is basically 11/11/22. I had been noticing the number 11 a lot in the week prior. I have no idea what to make of this whole experience, esp the numbers. Anyway, thanks again for sharing your experience.

    I experienced something similar years ago in the evening while meditating at the ending of a painful relationship, my experience was the loss of gravity, then a bolt of lighting that touched everything and the sense of time not existing, words can’t describe this sense of eternity and infinity. Than for the rest of the night it felt like floating in an immense ocean of bliss. Not a sleep but not awake. The morning came and I shifted to normal consciousness and the pain, suffering and grief were back, but I was able to go on with my life. My final thoughts are that the pain I was experiencing at the time was so bad that when I went into meditation, I succeeded in shutting down the ego mind.

    Hello, what you have described is not actually Samadhi, but the begging stage of Dhyana, which is the begging stage of Samadhi, but for it to become real Samadhi, that state that you described has to be held in Dhyana for a sufficient amount of time for it to become proper Samadhi, which is a permanent state, which you had a glimpse of , which I can tell from your description, because it is something I attained some 40 years ago now, from Raja yoga, from holding the one thought of the I for a long enough time for it to turn into I AM , the I AM being a permanent state of Samadhi the first Samadhi of the two Samadhi,s, the first being dual and second non dual, and as I am saying for it to be called Samadhi it has to be permanent, which will happen when you can hold one thought and get into deep Dhyana and hold that one thought without any other thought penetrating in to that holding, for around the one hour mark, and can do that consistently for a little while, then what will happen is the state you were in and by this time fully established consciousness space between the thought, will follow you out of meditation and become a permanent background consciousness in a state of permanent concentration, the next level of consciousness after the sense consciousness thinking thought level. Where you have permanently separated the consciousness and mind.

    • @SolarDog69
      @SolarDog69 Рік тому

      What you describe is just an option. How his organism and psyche will eventually adapt to the state of separation of mind from consciousness as a observer and permanent state later is a process that can last years for some, less for others. And this is a natural process because nothing in material nature happens instantaneously except mutation. But even mutation takes time because it takes build-up to get there. This experience takes time to integrate the Awareness into the cells afterwards. Once entered, a person can never break away from this state again, because it changes his whole system of perception. And this is because in this state, as well as in principle, time does not exist. "I am", "First Samadhi, second Samadhi", "Holding one thought" - these are just terms and ideas from the point of view of the Self Realization whose ultimate goal one reaches. That's why sequence, steps, tricks don't matter at all. I entered there without knowing a single word of Sanskrit, without having smelled a yoga practice - I entered without a single thought like a baby.
      There is no entry off the beaten path and strategic attitudes.

      @@SolarDog69 What I describe is not optional. The only option is the method used to reach the first Samadhi, the holding of the one thought of the I until it turns into the permanent state of IAM is just one, for those that can't hold that one thought, mantra or some other means may be required to tame the mind, but until that IAM Samadhi is attained you haven't really started on your spiritual path, and its only through that Samadhi, will you attain the ultimate non dual SAMADHI, this is a fact not an option. And if you are claiming to be in the ultimate state, without doing anything, then you are just not aware of this fact, and must of been in the first Samadhi state without you knowing it, and this could only of been that you were born like it, or what you are experiancing is the first Samadhi, or maybe the ultimate non dual SAMADHI, but if this is the case, then you have brought it through from your last lifetime, and just returning to what you were, but if this was so, then there must have been a time in your past lifetime where you have controlled your mind, because without the control of the mind by whatever means used, and the mind stops altogether, then there is no enlightenedment

    once i experienced something really weird while i was sleeping and awake at the same time, it was day time while i was waking up. i was still having my eyes closed and lying on the bed But, i was awake and hearing the buzz of vehicles in road. I tried to stand up But, some resistance... i overcame it some how but then i felt that i am hovering over my body. I said to my self common and then my material self woke up. felt like i saved... from no point of return

      This sounds similar to a dhyana experience or what Buddhists would call a nimitta. It is a good sign! But not every successful meditation will be accompanied by visual phenomena. The most important thing is stillness of mind and non-attachment to thought. My advice would be to keep going with your meditation and don't be disheartened if you haven't recaptured that experience yet. The greatest success in meditation takes time and a lot of patience. But if you have had vivid visual phenomena like that then you are on the right track, keep doing what you were doing when that phenomenon occurred

    Thank you for sharing the experience! I had something similar a few weeks ago, but couldn’t stabilize it, I was shown a ball of fire in my second chakra, I’m assuming that’s the block.
    Was your experience permanent ? If not, could share how long it took to stabilize the Saviklapa state… (if there is such a thing as permanent until we reach nirvikalpa)

    • @LiftingtheLamp
      @LiftingtheLamp  Рік тому +1

      My Savikalpa Samadhi experience was not permanent. Within a few hours it started to dissipate. But as I had been practising raja yoga for some time by then, I was able to consistently reach very deep meditations (almost always deep dhyana states). I went on to reach Nirvikalpa Samadhi in October of 2020. However, everyone is different, and some people reach advanced spiritual states more quickly and slowly than others (depending on various factors). The important thing is to constantly persevere in the work, no matter how long it takes. I also have a video on this channel giving my account of Nirvikalpa Samadhi if you are interested

    Did you experience pratyahara prior to Dhyana or after ? Or did it just go from dhyan straight to the blue expanse ?

    • @LiftingtheLamp
      @LiftingtheLamp  2 роки тому +1

      I moved through the successive limbs of raja yoga in order. So, I reached a pratyahara state before that then developed into a dhyana state. The blue expanse was probably a very deep dhyana state

    Hello. Idk am i on a right path or doing it right but sometimes when i meditating and observing my thoughts and focusing on my breath suddenly i just feel awake in darkness and dont know who i am, and when i feel it then asked who am i and where i am? few moments later my memories come and then know my name, job, family etc. Then i realize when i am in that state i was thoughtless, because i didnt remember them. Have you experienced similar situation? Could this be deep meditation.

      Samadhi is the end-goal of meditation. You can certainly do a lot to bring inner peace and calm your mind and your feelings by meditating once a day or even once a week. However, if you have underlying conditions such as anxiety and depression, I highly recommend you also seek professional help in dealing with those

      Hi my friend... If you start meditation ... You will see the changes in 1 week .... It will be hard to focus at start but it will get easier and will make you calm on certain level... I suggest you simply sitting and focusing that you are breathing. .. focus on your breath as it goes in and out... Thoughts will come you let it slip away... Again go back to focusing on breathing... Again thoughts will come .. you let them slip ...again on your focus and so on .... 1 week for 20 minutes of just trying to do meditation will do great help. .. you yourself will see changes... N the focus and time of meditation will increase as you go along... Just give 20 mints everyday ... When you feel out of your mind or anxiety...
      It will help you with anxiety immediately and will also help with depression as it will sort out the thoughts in your mind and help you understand more...

      I experience the grace of Samadhi regularly. I have worked as a Psychotherapist for 25 years or so. I have found that as I turn inward there is frequently anxiety present. This I understand as being a signal, warning me, so to speak that something hitherto repressed is threatening to become conscious. If I persist in sitting with this there is usually a layer of tears etc I pass through. It takes quite some discipline to stay present to this kind of emotional pain but it's worth it because a blissfull peace usually follows. This practice is is more than likely a culmination of lots of therapy combined with 4 decades of meditation practice off and on. Best wishes 🙏 Om Shanti
