I used to play volleyball in 6th for my school and It looked almost identical to this. Like no hitting and overhand serves are all the points and now i play for my high school team and i have some tips that helped my team win in 6th grade. 1- have the “hitters” pull for ward to the net or have them back up further so there is less confusion on the first ball and who’s passing it 2- even if the “setter” doesn’t set still have 1-2 setters so the passers know where/ who to pass too. (Still do drills on you should still take it if you’re setter cannot, out of system balls) and try to have 2-3 touches before going over. The setters will be off the net so they can freeball it over the net better then they would tight to it. 3- overhand severs are hard to receive especially when you are this young so either milk you’re few serve receive passers in practice or serve over hand at them 4- PRACTICE SENDING THE 3RD BALL OVER. This is SOOO important and helps so much. 5-Practice the basics, they don’t really need to set in the game 6-Have a couple leaders who help out 7-work on staying in position and not clumping 8- As they get older they will realize how mental volleyball is and how hard it can be on an off day to let your team down, try to help them with that and help them with ways to cope with it, that helps me SOOO much from when i learned how to cope and when i needed it. 9- help them to not be afraid of the ball, it is key later on. 10- keep having fun and being kind, even if they lose At this age volleyball skills are still forming so make sure to teach the basics and to work on them a LOT. They will learn the rest later . Y’all are doing great! 💗💛🤍
They did so good when i was in sixth i felt sick to my stomach when i had to serve my only tip is to keep your feet moving on the court it helps you get to that ball faster
Overhand serving at 6th grade is really good!
