The Nebraska - Wisconsin match from 2021 is legendary. It was a full 5 sets with the final point being a long rally and the player of the year Dana Rettke getting the last point of her college career.
I like Grace Loberg in her prime at Wisonsin. When she was playing for the Mojo last year for PVF, I felt like she wasn't as good as her college years.
I don't watch women's volleyball very often. It was crazy to see how slow the ball moved during the early years, and then in the 2010's it's like they just decided to start hitting harder or something. Still slower compared to what I usually watch. But the difference was certainly interesting to observe.
it has a lot to do with the ball that was used, those old balls somehow slowed down faster.. like a balloon.. then around 2005 they switched to the new ones that had a different materials and that made the whole sport evolve
What is crazier is Texas was ahead of Nebraska at 15-10. Nebraska would only get one more point in the last game as Texas went on a 10-1 run to win the championship. In the second set, Texas went on an 11-0 run to secure that set. For most of the year, people considered Nebraska as the best team in college volleyball. Yet Texas dominated them.
its interesting to see how the game has developed technique-wise. yall get to hear all my commentary enjoy lol 2:40 is like my new biggest fear like ON MATCH POINT?? that had to suck 5:33 WHERE IS SHE SERVING FROM??? MARS??? 7:06 first jump serve ive seen in this video thats interesting. 8:47 that is some set 9:48 we love the back row attacks 11:10 these look a bit more like the modern jerseys worn today 12:41 im sorry is my girl the libero wearing a helmet🤣 14:10 that blocker outa here i wonder what that coach did lol 17:51 DANG THAT DIG WAS AMAZING 17:55 WITH THE BACK ROW KILL WE LOVE 18:53 girls loading like 'bruh what just happened" i would totally do that lol 19:33 another amazing dig 19:46 MWA CHEFS KISS DIG 19:52 blockers still on the setter my beautiful right side has an open net and rightfully KILLS IT 20:43 dang texas winning with back to back aces is so cool especially bc the serve recieve took it very similarly 21:19 all the taped fingers 🤣 THANKS FOR COMING TO MY TED TALK LOL
I HATE Texas with a strong passion for evreything! But when it comes to volleyball, their my favorite team! Idk why 😂 maybe it’s because of Maddie Skinner
FOR me, those early years or the 1980's decade shouldn't REALLY count as nationally competitive volleyball. Sure, put them on the record, but when most colleges are still building their programs and conferences, these early years can not be praised.
It’s so crazy to think Long Beach, Hawaii, and UCLA used to absolutely dominate the sport
It seems they’ve locked in for the men’s teams at those schools but at what cost!
They still do tbh

Texas winning back to back with ACES will forever be iconic

@@freyag9949 no it was Akana and then O Neal but having them both be aces to end it is still crazy..

That rally was volleyball in its purest form.

You realize that the teams from the early 80’s are somebody’s grandma now😂
ahhhh the ‘80s…when the coaches actually celebrated with the players instead of with the other coaches 😅
what year Jordan Larson joined the ncaa for nebraska
I watched all 21 minutes on tik tok 😭
