I agree with you, but someone is always dying, regardless of stupidity, or someone else's stupidity.
America, and/or other countries can't really help Ukraine. Firstly, Ukraine isn't part of the union, Nato. Secondly, the distance. Ukraine is in Europe. And America is in, well... America... But regardless, Russia is next to Ukraine, which goes to the part of Russia probably attacking those who would try to protect it. Thirdly, Russia's leader specifically said for no one else to be involved in the war, or they'll use their strongest weapons.
So there isn't much that can be done. But, the countries are shutting down their trade systems with Russia, so it might impact Russia. But also themselves. America finally turned down oil for once, since Russia actually trades oil with America. Regardless, you would just have to have faith, or pray for safety of those in Ukraine.
