THANK YOU TRACTOR TIME WITH TIM! YOU GUYS ROCK!
Great to work with you guys again, we got SSssooooo much done. All I meant when I said we've been trying to get you down here for so long was that everything has been challenging for many months, especially on our end. You folks are awesome, and very generous. Thank you again!
Great to see you again on TTWT Curt! Hope all is well. Great video! That project sounds pretty neat.
@@richpicone7788 yeah it is a neat project. It is pretty cool to be a part of something that will outlast you.
Thanks again for your help, Tim and Kristi. Great progress for our trail.
That's one thing I really like about fall and winter weather. You can do property clean up much easier. That attachment is very nice.
When you where talking about your neck I got to thinking you guys should install a front pto and 3 pt. On 1 of your tractors that would be a project that people would really be interested in. I dont know if a kit is available for anything you have but it would be a cool project
Love when towns, county’s and states invest in nature and trails, great job guys!
Tim, there are several companies in the central KY area that run skid loaders and forestry mulchers. How do you compete against these types of outfits? $11,000 is a significant investment for a tractor mulcher if you don't have a lot of personal use for one. I'd really like to see you discuss this in a video. Thanks and great job as always!
💥 Always fun to have multiple tractors working on a job site. Great video footage camera crew! 👍😁👍
*Keep on tractoring!*
Great video, Tim. I loved the ending where Christi yelled....STOP! She definitely got my attention, she did. Enjoyed a full-watch. Havwe a fine upcoming week. 👍🏽🙂
Another great video showing "people helping people"!! Great job with that double foot action on working your forward & reverse pedals! Haha. That's not easy for some! Appreciate the scripture at the end of each video too! It's one of our favorite parts of each episode & look forward to seeing the next one!
I do similar tractor work myself. I use a heavy duty brush hog on roughly the same size trees as you shown in this video. I’ve often thought about a forestry mulcher so thanks for the video. I know you said you could spend more time mulching, but it was interesting to see the debris left is also about equal to what I’m left with when using my brush mulcher. I show that in some of my videos I’ve posted. My biggest take away was watching the grapple on the orange tractor. That grapple looks to be about perfect for my tractor company. Thanks for the great videos! 🍻 Cheers from the Bulldog
Nice job. I love that brush mulcher. It’s actually impressive that the 2038 can run it
That will be a beautiful area with the plans they have for it, for generations to come. The Brush Mulcher is just the ticket for clearing the nuisance trees and vegetation. You folks did a great job in short order. Blessings to all.
Thanks for adding the reading of the scripture verse at the end. Sometimes I had to stop and pause it so I could read it all.
Tim an Christie Thanks for volunteering your time an talent have a day love from TEXAS
I seen on UA-cam one time where Claus has a version of the forestry cutter, where they took the body if their harvester, corn and hay, and it was strong enough to completely shred up trees at least 1 1/2' , that is cutting and shredding all in one process. But yes i have seen the ones where they are a dedicated skid with steel tracks and a roll cage on the back for over $100,000 used
Great video guys. Glad to see Curt! Great project!!
Spencer is a beautiful area. I used to know some people who lived down there and I always loved visiting.
Watched this video a few times. Still one of my personal favorites of yours. Cheers 🍻
Always appreciate you watching, and your comments. You have a good channel!
Nice project Tim. Trees encroaching happens pretty quickly.
My hometown super cool
Very productive day. Good job. I like that grinder/mulcher. I’d be a buyer if that price was a little lower, but a good alternative to the $75-100k typical machine.
I've been wanting to see another mulcher / grinder video, thanks.
It worked beautifully in this project!
That’s a cool project Tim!!
Hopefully they open that land up for trapping and hunting. I'm a Hoosier not far from spencer. Indiana has some great public land cause of people like you helping out!
Best shot was the final one..."STOP!!!"
Kristi was really on duty that time, and nice reflexes Tim! 👍😎👍
You mentioned damage under the tractor. Both my hydraulic filters stick below my 4510 Deere. One day the driver damaged the large filter cutting brush (mesquite). It caused a slow leak that was above our skill so the John Deere dealer had to repair.
A lot of area cleared in a short amount of time!
I love your use of Stob. We use it in Kansas all the time, but here in Peoria most people have no idea what a stob is. Take care, Jason
I don’t know another word to describe a ‘stob’. If you notice, I follow up in the next sentence with ‘tiny stumps’.
Wonder if you could install two large mirrors one on the left and one on the right, so you can see what you were doing without turning your neck backwards for hours. Or maybe a backup camera mounted on the roll bar pointed down behind you?
Kurt needs to find his 4WD lever... 😁
I would agree its not the optimal solution for brush grinding, but if I had a compact tractor, half the cost for a "forestry head" is nothing to scoff at. not to mention the track loader is probably twice what the tractor costs as well... Skid plates would be be something I would look into/make for your machine to ensure I didn't damage something while items are being discharged...
It’s easy to fab up a skid plate that attaches to the mid mound mower connections
Thank you for another great video! Every time I watch you use the mulcher I ask myself what would be a good way to protect the underside of the tractor. I keep thinking that a deflector that slips over the draw bar or into the draw bar mount would be low enough to stay out of the 3 point links and high enough to not get caught on everything.
I think the chains on the front of the mulcher would be most effective. We have them on the larger mulcher, and they work well.
I think a small piece of steel might help on the brush mulcher, but I'm no expert by any means. The 360 looks to have the same setup with no chains to ease the javelin like projectiles. Curt looked like a kid in a candy store on the LX3310. Bet he's going to trade in his Kubota or get one seeing how much fun he had.
Update to my initial comment: there's now an optional chain guard on Baumalight's website for the MP348/MP360 mulcher which I've spotted. Cost is roughly $900 between both models.
I think I know where he can find one! :-)
Maybe make you a chain bar to bolt to the back bar of the tractor to keep stuff from going under
I like how you are reading the scripture now at the end
This implement is neat for compact tractors but golly gee, I can’t imagine running all day looking backwards. My neck would be hurting for a few days after.
Tim add the baumalite mulcher to the front of Johnny 5 or the foray mulcher
I had a 300hp Forestry mulcher clear my land.
200/hr.
Took 3 hrs to clear about 300 4-6" popple trees.
That thing would have taken forever to use.
I enjoy your videos
Thanks Barry!
@@TractorTimewithTim ❤
I wish I would’ve know you were down here. I live about 10 minutes away!
You are gonna have to get involved with MyPath!
Say Tim, I was watching Biff at Biffs equipment do an interesting test between a Johnie and a Kubota bx. Would be an interesting test if made a little more scientific. Keep up the keeping up.
would love to see the mulcher on the LX3310, just to see... that mulcher really gets it done on the deere!

@@TractorTimewithTim lol short on caffeine, I forgot about that video!! Awesome job Tim, really enjoyed this
Hey Tim: quick question: when you have done stump grinding and are asked to clean up the wood chips, how do you do it and what do you use?
Thanks for your reply,
Bill
Usually front loader bucket and blower.
Often we leave all of the chips on the old stump.
That would be like me to run over the camera at the end😂
I missed it!!! …but not by much…and could hardly see it through the grapple even after Christy stopped me!
Sounds like you might have a lot of future work there???
Whats the pto rpm and hp requirements for that mulcher. I really want something like that for my kubota b2601
Too big for you. Sorry.
Tim - I notice you do not use grill guards (like 511). I did not think I needed one but the last time I was using the grapple I got lucky but put a dent in the grill. I am changing my mind about the importance of a little more protection. Have you seen a need?
Yes.
One of two things when a wooded area creeps in on the farm fields, more than likely it was wet and not worth the hassle or farmer just didn’t have the time or effort to keep the edges back.
Hey Tim, have you thought of installing a camera or mirrors to prevent having to turn your head the whole time using the mulcher?
It just doesn’t work very well
Would have been much quicker to push it all over with a front blade and then push the fallen into burn piles. I did that with an old JD1040 on my 40 acres and was pushing regrowth up to 3" thick at the rate of about 1/2acre per hour. I tried pushing sections over and then coming back to push it into burn piles and then tried other sections where I was pushing it into burn piles as I went - ended up being about the same time wise as I was very selective about what should go and what should stay
Hey Tim
Watch a lot of your videos - got a 1025r after watching you videos!
Question - my rockshaft snap ring came off - causing my right side 3pt arm to come of the spline. For now no leaks and still goes up and down
In reading various forums - sounds like This is a common problem. Has this Given you any issues?
It happens frequently. Not sure if I have had it or not. Easy to fix.
@@TractorTimewithTim ok sounds good! Thanks!! Keep up the great videos!
Hey Tim do they make a mulcher that spins the other way? That would eliminate the under belly of the tractor. Great video!
Think about the side affects. I don’t think I want the trees thrown upwards either :-)
You get some chain, I'll bring up a piece of angle iron and a welder and we'll put it together.
If nothing else just something that hangs off of the 3point
Hi Tim. How about adding a rear view mirror to save your neck from some strain? or even a rear view camera!
Both vibrate too much to be useful. We have tried in the past.
Tim, what's your thoughts on the K&M Mfg. Swivel 40 or Reliance SS5002 Swivel adapter?
Never tried one…so no opinion. Sorry.
I’ve got a mp360 brush mulched coming for my tractor. One question I have is can you use a quick hitch with it?
Can’t remember! I don’t think so.
@@TractorTimewithTim I am leaning to not using the quick hitch, but sent a question to Baumalight. Don’t have the manual on it yet and can’t download without a serial number. I’ll let you know what I find out. Thanks and God bless
Heard back from Baumalight and they are NOT quick hitch compatible.
I mean it's impressive but dam lots trees gone real fast
Awesome video Tim. I,ve been thinking about one of those Stihl battery chainsaws. Was going to go for the bigger one, but now that you talked about the cut size difference, I think I will go with the MSA 200.
200 much more effective than the 220! Highly worth the money. Absolutely amazing machine!
@@TractorTimewithTim Ironically, I own a chain of Hardware and Building Supply stores here in Nova Scotia and sell the Husqvarna brand Chainsaws. I have their version of the battery saw and hate it. It keeps stopping and I have to reset it every 5 minutes. So, you are forcing me to go and buy from my COMPETITION!
Uhoh! I will say that I enjoy(ed) by Husky saw. I don’t use it anymore since Stihl partners with us.
@@TractorTimewithTim Yeah, I love my Husky GAS chainsaws (I have two) but the battery saw just isn't great
Just use a gas chainsaw, imo. Unless you want to buy 3x batteries and swap them out every 20 minutes to work for 1 hr.
Would it be handy to install a fronthitch (like a zuidberg) with pto to get that baumalight in front? But i guess you wouldn be able to use your front grapple then or would it go over it?
Not sure there is a 540 rpm front PTO available
@@TractorTimewithTim zuidberg makes them i know for kubota, this guy has one : ua-cam.com/video/yDSADPEuDfY/v-deo.html
Would some big mirrors or cameras save your neck? Blessings
What wheel spacers are you using? I need to get a set for my 2025r. Thanks!
I don’t know. Dealer put them on to fit the backhoe on the 2038r with radial tires. I need to find out…so that I can get the right lug bolt.
@@TractorTimewithTim Why don't you take one of the bolts near it out and then take it yo the hardware store and match it up?
Suppose they have metric lug bolts at hardware store?
@@TractorTimewithTim Try Ace Hardware. They have both. Its worth a try. They have the biggest selection of both metrics and SAE I've seen in any hardware store. I assume you're talking bolt and not stud such as in an automotive brake drum.
Correct. It is a hex head bolt.
I bet a hydraulic toplink would work good with that mulcher
I’m not sure it would make much difference…but it might.
What would it cost to replace a drum
The transmission on the LX seems to be whining a lot even for an hydro, is this normal? Good day to you!
Unfortunately, yes. It is normal.
@@TractorTimewithTim would you say it does it more than the 2038R or it's similiar?
Yes, more than 2038r.
Did it perform any better with the new teeth. It looks good.
Maybe. Hard to tell.
Would love to see the maximum capability of diameter of wood this thing can chew up.Guy I have worked with has a big one on his giant skidsteer, but I think it might be bigger than this thing.
The Stihl MSA 220 battery saw that you spoke of in the video with poor performance, requires the larger amp hour battery (AP 300 S) to achieve maximum performance.
We have the 300 S.
…and it is not ‘poor’ performance. Just not as good as the the 200.
Folk...watch till the end. STOP!!! I try to only buy one attachment for my 1025R a year. Between you and Good Works Tractors always showing very cool and handy attachments and tractor upgrades like the HydrosPlus pumps. I'm having problems decided what my 2022 purchase will be. I just might have to break down and have a spring and a fall purchase. Thanks for sharing.
Take that Mr Beast!
🤣🤣🤣🤣 you sound an awful lot like Hank Hill
Are those green headphones isotunes? You didn’t say anything about the sound protection.
ISOtunes Link aware. So when tractor is off, I can hear clearly. They only block loud noises. Pretty cool.
We try to not mention them EVERY episode…but it is difficult, as I always find them useful!
ISOtunesAudio.com/ttwt use code ttwt for a 10% discount!
I think you were talking chain pitch not cut width.
What kind of camera do you use when filming your videos?
Several!
I am thinking of upgrading to a GoPro but can’t decide if it is right for the job. Most of my videos are shot inside but I want one that will be good for both.
GoPro 9 and 10 are much improved. The thumbnail and related shots were captured with a GoPro 9.
Thank you I am a 47 year old Idaho farm boy. I have been thinking of starting a business like your for years and decided to finally do it. While researching what tractor to buy I stumbled across your channel. Thanks for all the great info and reviews from a new subscriber.
Welcome to our channel! Thanks for the kind words!
Dumb question, but don’t they grow back if you don’t grind every stump?
We mow over them. They eventually "get tired" ...or perhaps we kill them with Crossbow or equivalent.
8756 rx John deere
So the mulcher is 13 k ??? A little rich for my blood
Ok. Fair enough. Some will see the value, others won’t.
THE XBT-3 IS NOT AS STRONG AS THE K-37HTC BUT ALMOST. THE KUBOTA SHOULD HAVE ENOUGH HP TO ALSO USE THE XBT-14-C WHICH CAN ALSO BE USED WITH A SKID STEER. JUST SAYIN'
I honestly have no idea what you are ‘just sayin’. All those numbers and letters are just gibberish to me.
Have you tried or even seen mericrusher or fea mulchers I think that those are better.
For tractors?
@@TractorTimewithTim yes and you can use those with avant, skidsteer and...... I have used mericrusher with avant and Bigger ones with bigger tractors.
These small tractors seem small and dangerous with the high potential of tree branches, rocks and debris flying in the air and harming the drivers or anyone standing near by. What are the reports of death and bodily injuries from using these tractors to remove tree? Honestly what are the reports.
My insurer says that small tractors have proven to be much safer (in terms of insurance claims) than they predicted. Therefore, insurance rates are relatively low.
Destroying maturing trees to plant seedlings??
Willows. Yes.
Weed trees choke out native, desirable trees
He says what all fools say, let nature find some other place to live as long as I'm happy! Just another fool!
I don’t believe you watched the video closely…or all of it.
This effort is entirely toward returning this property ‘to nature’. Sometimes a little help (in this case getting rid of junk willow trees) helps that process to go a bit quicker.
