and then, when the wave starts and all the melee scavs show up, you cant run away (it wouldnt be that bad when you have a frontline perk tbh) same thing could happen while scavenging, and there its even worse, considering that you may find a demon (hidden, skinner and sickler. maybe hanged too?)
If you have pinpointed the disease that is within AGENTS, then why don't the natives of Eden-227 (Scavengers and Castle raiders) have the disease as well and how have they managed to suppress for that long? In addition, take a look at Yosef and other notable characters that appear in a normal Decaying Winter run, why are they not weakened, if not dead from the infection that is present in AGENTS?
he briefly displayed an example on the screen while talking about this. something like natives getting diseases from colonizers, only this time natives are the ones giving it to the colonizers. the scavs have a tolerance to the disease or something.
The scavs have lived long enough on Eden-227 to evolve and adapt a tolerance to the disease. The AGENTS have no tolerance, because they aren't exposed to it outside of Eden-227
He just mentioned it already, people more used to the disease is more likely to be safe than people not used to, we've already seen this with vaccines so maybe the UMG faction had made the disease untreatable permanently on Eden-277 and New Earth for the later stages of "Survival Of The Fittest" to make contestants weaker overtime.. And then it became contagious, Contestants and natives that survived are basically immune to the disease and seeing as The Storm was a stronger version of it, they are very likely to have survived as well.
I think the RIS lore maybe explains it "Due to its ability to live forever, it got trapped in the atmosphere and infected all non-contestants. The original contestants became immunized due to experiencing the infection in its weaker stages. And due to the storm always being a more powerful version of the infection, they were immune to this too."
I never even thoughted why the infection effect even happened like it was just instantly happen. Even spawning Oh, right really quick if You don't mind. I'm goanna drop a huge paragraph which possibly contains the fictional equivalent that I recently found out last few weeks. What if, from focusing on fictional viruses The infection in decaying winter. Is based on the green poison from the Division? It first struck me the thought it is based on another fictional virus when I checked the soundtrack. The assault ones really got me wondered on the gameplay of it, after seeing the gameplay it made me realize "It's almost exactly the similar gameplay as decaying winter only this time, few differences. It turns out some of the aspects of decaying winter is based off some of the mechanics of tom Clancy's the division. Even in some cases, other mechanics like how the storm is based on the snowstorm mechanic in tom Clancy where you only have a few amounts of time before you die from frostbite to a few references like the crashed helicopter. and even the anti-vials that can be seen on one of the ECHO playbacks. Why would I think the infection is similar to the green poison or what the game calls it, the dollar flu, from closer look at the symptoms it functionally works similar to the infection in decaying winter, The virus at stage 1-2, the infected will still be healthy, however, overtime it will cause the similar flu like symptoms with most of it being fatigue, and after brief period from almost 8 days, the user would die similar to stage 5. This dollar flu has its similar effects very similar to the smallpox only this time. it causes a short infection period which causes death. There's also in the lore a "burn out" can even happen to a major infected location where the virus would become irradicated, making it safer than it was previously, since the holdout doesn't include an infection system, this could be hypothesized for holdout, it few months later the infection has burned itself and already a cure would have been made which also explains why the scavs have moved from the castle to the warehouse
I think it's Sepsis, considering in The Division's Survival DLC, your agent has contracted Sepsis, and since the Infection is called a Systemic Infection, along with Sepsis, that means that sepsis, is the infection in DW
Ulayclon made a disease during the later stages of “Survival of the Fittest” known as the systemic infection which was injected in every contestant to make them weaker the longer they survived.
In my opinion, I think morale is the worst debuff because when at least one of your teammates die all your other teammates just get morale, and yes, I know there is the orange stim but that only removes 1 morale and I also know that waiting 2 nights get rid of morale, but atleast one of your teammates will die before 2 nights so morale is really annoying
I hate morale since it weakens you, especially In,public servers, when a novice gets absolutely destroyed by a baton scav, now think of that, but 1 morale every night.
(assuming this is like the 31st century or smtn) i have a theory, Eden 227 used to be an earth like planet that wandered close to us some 1000 odd years ago and some decided to go to the planet but were left stranded, that would explain all the 2022 guns there and the people there and the timeline would explain why we have those halo shields on the zealot turret and the holograms in the auxilary tab.
(Tldr: infection is a modified blacklight virus from prototype) It is something man made that belongs to the rekigon cult. And as i have witnessed in this game its also probably has infected the demons. Im basing this off of the game prototype based off of the fact that the sickler, skinner, hanger, and the walls of the map. If you look up the claws, blade, armor and tendrals abilities in prototype you will see the blade is similar to what the skinner has on its arm, the claws are like similar to the sicklers claws, and the armor is like all 3 demons being completely black until killed. And the tendrals ability could be assumed to be similar to what is around the world and if you look at the games opening cutscene this is all done by a virus and there are even vine like things crawling and spreading on a car. If you look at the animation for swapping abilities or using certain abilities like glide or high jumping you will notice a somewhat fog like thing as the body is being modified and the similar effects on the summoning animation for a shadow hunter if you will see similar partical effects. I believe its a modified blacklight(?)virus from prototype. If it was modified that would explain why in lore there are only 2 people still concious and have these abilities being the scythe cultist and apostle like alex mercer and elizabeth greene. It could also be explained if under the snow the floor is covered in infected matter. Like the matter that covers nests in prototype.
Artery bleeding paired with normal bleed makes you activate panic mode and if you don’t get a tourniquet in a certain amount of time, you will die. Also usually when you get artery your low on hp so if you don’t have a tourniquet you pretty much are dead unless you get extreme luck
The only problem with this theory is that you combact the sistemic infection with antibiotics, so it is a bacteria not a virus or it would do anything against it as antibiotics are effective only against bacteria and not viruses. But is a well made theory other than that
systemic infection is a bio-weapon that was used in the game show "Survival of the Fittest" by ulaycon because they wanted contestants to get weaker over time, but it eventually escaped the gameshow laboratories and arenas and infected the population.
So what abt the scavs? the scavs has to be having the virus. But some scavs wear respirators which maybe mean they are stage 2, 3 or 4. So maybe thats why?
