VALIDATION!!! I always felt like this song was easily disregarded by Muse fans. So underrated and it's one of my favorites. Glad you were into it!

My only issue is the dog shit lyrics, I struggled to listen to it as a result but I have to give credit to the actual instrumentation. The riff is solid, and guitar solos at the end are some of my favourites they've ever done. It even changes slightly with a few notes being held over the bar instead of repeating

Great song not talked about too much, it does have a great feel.
Another great one from the album is "The Handler" which is one of my favorites from them and is quite loved within the community and has such a great feel (and solo).
Wouldn't be surprised if it's in the queue or if you've already done it
Fun fact, the famous JKF speech at the start was about the supposed "Illuminati" This basically shows that MUSE are a extremely political British band, and their entire music career is either about British politics, or global issues. Make of that what you will, but in my eyes, it’s kinda cool 😎
Hey David, very late to commenting on this video, but I usually come back to your older Muse reactions, always notice something new! Fun fact about this song, Matt Bellamy has a speech impediment where his ‘PR’ words sound like ‘PW’, you can hear this when he says ‘Problem’ as it sounds like ‘pwoblem’. You’ll never unhear this now 😂

I think that muse is much better than queen. There is a resemblance though. But there is so much distinction. Muse is like no other

One of my favourite Muse songs, been waiting for ages to see a reaction video to it as it doesn't seem to get reviewed very often. Brilliantly catchy riff, heavy guitar and I love the Queen-esque harmonies. Glad you enjoyed it.
This song is so underrated. I don't know why. I think the build up with the jdk speech is great and I have to have it play first before I listen to the whole song. Great reaction😊😊

Oh Dave, I gotta say you have the weirdest taste sometimes. As someone who follows the band for a very long time I have never considered this one not even near in my Muse playlist...BUT, I guess I never gave it a chance and I see what you mean, also it happened with Panic Station that you liked so much. So it si very fun to see what I have said before "There is a muse song for everyone" and in your case thos3 are not even the popular ones, which is cool.
Edit: Don't get me wrong, I like the song too I just don't listen to this album that much as the other ones, but now that I think about it, Reapers is also here and The handler along with this one, very overlooked songs by many (including me) and lately they have grown in me.

Hey David, the intro JFK stands for John F. Kennedy, whose speech it was in the intro of the song. Great video, one of my favourite songs!

Awesome video as always! Muse and Alter Bridge are my favorite bands. I think u really would enjoy Myles Kennedy - the ides of march. I think its his best solo stuff

I finally found a live version of this song that's good quality and it's awesome, the crowd was way into it, not sure why muse doesn't break this one out often
True, this song is not the most complex song for Muse. But the "color" of the song with all of the choices being made with the instruments is amazing. None of the instruments play the same part except for the very end of the chorus, and yet it all works.
Fun fact: Matt has trouble saying his "R"s (nowadays, people would call it a speech impediment). If you listen closely to when he sings "problem," you can hear he actually sings "pwoblem."

I think this might be your first reaction to a song from the "Drones" album. Which surprises me, because the album is the most straightforward Rock that Muse has done. From your previous reactions you strike me as one who appreciates that straightforwardness.
So these are more songs from "Drones" you will probably enjoy:
"Psycho"
"Reapers"
"The Handler"
And possibly "The Globalist". Though that one might vary in your taste.

One of the most underrated Muse songs imo, but i don't understand why someone requested this one before The Handler or The Globalist, imo those 2 are the best songs in the album
Haha it was same for me. Defector is like special. Its easy but weirdly cute. For me The Handler is Defector 2. And its better song. But they are like twin brothers. Check live version 2015 if you like.

Believe it or not, this is def one of Muse’s overlooked deeper cuts. They never play it live, no one reacts to it, no one talks about it - but it’s truly one of my favorites, especially the guitar solo work in the bridge and end which really gives me the feels.
I love the other comments here with people reconsidering how good this song and the Drones album was haha. I’ve known all along, it being in my top 3 Muse albums.
I’ve always been more of a fan of the deep cuts which is where Muse is most experimental. And that’s why I request them. And I see those are the ones that impact you too. I Belong to You, United States of Eurasia, Panic Station, Exogenesis, etc - most Muse fans don’t realize how phenomenal they are and your reviews surely open their minds.

I don't know if somebody's already recommended it, but you should listen and react to "The Globalist" from the same album. It's one of my all time favourites.
First time that you suprise me. Don't get why you liked the song. I always agree with you judgement, but this time, when you paused the video at the first, I thought "he will say something not that good" but you said you digged it. Well that was something new

RE: The video - One of my least favourite songs by them, but it's what I love about Muse. Their catalogue is huge and they cater to so many while still remaining Muse. Deffo didn't think you would love this one as much as you did but hey, each to their own and anyone who can appreciate a Muse song is good in my books!

Not yet....which isn't a bad thing. If the dispute expires, then I win by default and the block is removed. So in this case, no news is good news.

I remember loving this song when it came out, then i got bored pretty fast, the guitar solo and the bass are great tho.
I love muse but I can't stand this song... The chorus is chessy but it's ok... But the versus are terrible... Just terrible
