    Thank you for sharing. I am preparing for Summer 2025 OCS. Hopefully I will be selected for a Reserve Slot.

    Embrace the suck, learn to read and write OPORDS, and learn you limitations and strengths....play into these

    Have you experienced a lot of the camaraderie that is oft talked about in the military still as an officer?

      @@OfficialLandonFisher you do get close with your unit. For better or worse

    How does one become the knowledge speaker, scribe, or other volunteer positions. Do you simply volunteer?

    • @MrJoshHodge

      Just volunteer when they ask

    How does branch selection work? is it pretty random or do people usually get what they want?

    • @MrJoshHodge

      It is based on your performance at TBS. And no, sometimes you do not get what you want

      when I was TBS (6-85) many moons a go; the MOS selection was broken down to 1/3 (top, middle, bottom);
      The only ones guarantee were Legal and Flight (Pilots); you got 3 Choices: my top choice was 08 (Artillery) since I am from Lawton and born at FortsILL;
      Good Luck and Semper FI;

    How many miles a week did you run in prep? I’ve heard of mixed things. I’ve heard plenty of guys who ran 290+ PFT’s only running 9-12 miles a week. Ok the other hand I’ve heard of people running 15-20. What worked for you?

      Honestly, I have been there. OCS is a very lonely place, and 3 weeks, though it may not seem like a long time to us, is forever when you are at OCS. All I wanted to hear whenever I was there was how excited my family was to see me graduate and all the things we were going to do on graduation day. Besides that, just listen to him. He is going to complain and just need to get things off his chest, he may get very emotional... just help him understand that he has gotten 7 weeks down... the last week is outprocessing so its easy... so really, all he has is 2 weeks left.

      Thank you very much for answering, but I have two more questions , when will he know for sure that he is going to graduate and in case he doesn’t what is going to happen, I mean what is next? can he at 21 years old try again ?…. thanks for your time…!

      @@chacabucofernandez8025 Unless he has a failing grade on some events, he should automatically graduate. Usually if you have made it to week 7, you are more than likely going to graduate. If he does get dropped, yes you can always come back
