Can confirm - showering together is fantastic. Take all of the long, deep thoughts and releases and mental breakdowns and senses of relief from a normal shower...now imagine it being out loud, with the one person that is always willing to help you through those things (or, should be, at least). It's great.
@agapp11able That sounds cool when you're a teenager or first married but when you've been together for a while, that's not really the best place for that most of the time and you find that all you do in the shower is talk and actually take a shower.
@agapp11able The bedroom usually is the best place. I think it's different for every relationship. Some people still are active in it daily and some very rarely do it anymore. I will say there is probably a direct correlation between those who get divorced and rarely have sex and those who are still married and still engage fairly often.
@agapp11able I wouldn't want to take a stab at what anyone else's relationship issues are since that is so personal but he was definitely making a joke lol
@agapp11able if i use my last 2 years living with my partner as reference, I can agree with Watchandlearn91. When you're with someone for a while you've had sex usually hundreds of times, and you're already together all the time, so the teenage rabbit phase p much ends for a lot of people. I'd say most married/engaged couples who live together probably have sex a few times a week. I have p low libido tho
She’s getting better and more confident. I think if there were more topics she was interested in she would show it off more. A good example was the cricut episode.
Yvonne always strikes me as someone who really has their shit together. I can't really base that on much, she just seems so professional and supportive. Personally I can't really imagine having kids or my own company, but even if that was my thing, finding someone who you'd decide to tackle both of these monumental projects with - at the same time nonetheless - is really special.
Wow....This is so nice to hear! I am in the same boat. My wife and I got married, had our first child that following year, then house, then I got my masters, then we bought a house, then we had another baby. We have not legit had a vacation since our honeymoon. We both have demanding careers, she being an Operating Room Nurse Manager and me being a Sr. IT engineer for a biotech company. I totally understand what Linus is saying, and I will have to adopt this way of thinking. Great advice Linus!
Hey founder/CEO of a large corporation where many employees rely on you, where you have to film, edit and upload multiple videos a week on various channels, rely on ads, sponsorships, maintaining a fanbase, having other venturs such as the shop all while having a family...have you ever been overwhelmed? I laughed so hard when Luke busted out laughing
I wish I had a friend that looks at me the way Luke looks at Linus. He loves his best friend, and you can tell that when Linus is talking about something that's important he really takes it in.
It's so refreshing to see how transparent and open Linus is willing to be. Not that we should expect to know all about his personal life, but when a user asks a question like that, it's great to see how he basically doesn't hold back. Been watching LTT since 2012 and I don't think anyone deserves to be UA-cam's #1 tech channel more than this team.
Its been a crazy adventure growing up and watching Linus "grow up" at the same time, he's become such a great leader but still stayed true to what I remember him being when I was 9 years old watching NCIX. Him, Yvonne the whole LMG gang have been so influential in the right ways and turned me into the tech fiend I am today.
Hey, Linus I don't know if you will read this. I have been watching you since class 6 ( now am first year in clg) your video made me in love with the computer. I am an UG CS student now and I love computer on your old video I love the passion you had for everything you did. That made me like computer. Thank you for all the work maybe someday down the line I can afford to buy one of your merch as a token of appreciation
Stumbled in this while going thru therapy and parenting coursework, super helpful reminder to appreciate partner-family plus time off to step away from work, work will ALWAYS be there
I'm going to show my husband this video. Because we struggle with this problem, I'm sure all couples do at some point, and it's nice to see someone else talk about how they work through their relationship priorities. Also, we see Yvonne, and appreciate all that she does
I just have to say that I am going to show this video to my girlfriend. She is extremely supportive and I thought of her throughout the first half of this video. I also like how the question wasn’t even about your situation but because of how much your wife does and has an impact, it is an answer to the question. A lot of respect to her and you for being so forthright .
I appreciate you letting viewers into your personal marital affairs. Lots of good influence to help others that often deal with the same issues as both you and your wife. I also have 3 kids and my wife does a wonderful job with them while I’m not home. I’m away all week long and every weekend can sometime be a challenge to do a weeks worth of honey-dos as well as balance time with the family. Keep up the great content. We love it!
I enjoyed watching this. As one half of what others would probably consider a “power couple”, I find success has isolated us from our peers both in terms of time and because we can no longer really relate to usual millennial problems. Hearing how other other couples in a similar situation deal with this kind of reality is heartening. Accepting that work is an integral part of our identities is positive step, I think.
Love the honesty you all showcase. It's really endearing to hear about the struggles behind the scenes in anything, and the stories you all share with us makes me appreciate what you all have built up even more. It's makes the $30 usd postage for buying LTT mech to Australia hurt that much less :')
Two new channel ideas: - Linus Shower Tips - Yvonne Finance Tips But honestly, yeah Yvonne's an MVP here. And I appreciate the vulnerability of you sharing this Linus.
Yeah, might be interesting to hear from someone like her about bootstrapping this kind of small business it might not be enough content to make a lot of videos though, like weekly or anything like that. But I'd love to hear from her about what the CFO of a business like this does and how they make it work.
@@KodiakWoodchuck Hearing about the backend of situations we saw on the other channels would be great so that there are specific examples/situations and solutions.

Dear Yvonne and Linus, you're not alone! I got married to my wife very quick too (engaged in first 3 months of dating lol), didnt even have a honeymoon, moved, changed jobs, went back to college together, worked in the same childcare together, and had 2 wonderful boys. To say it is difficult to find our "adult" time or just personal couple time would be an understatement. We know the grind for sure and now we even work directly in the same classroom together. As much as that can be a huge stressor on a couple to live AND work together, I try to remind my wife the same, we should be thankful to utilize the best of it. If anything its a good marriage training to work together and become stronger (granted we guys always recognize our wifes hard work, especially giving us wonderful children). But in all honesty I wouldn't have it any other way. We also have to tell ourselves it wont last forever so make the best of it! Sorry for the longness, but hang in there, we totally understand. Thanks for setting an honorable example of a family dynamic, and always bringing genuine content!
I appreciate Linus' ability to go from making less serious videos to actual real talk, and doing both well. Most people it's either one or the other, and sometimes not even well.
I completely understand Luke... I am pretty passionate about working on consulting and helping my mates, the problem is for you at that point you feel great helping and pushing the projects (your own and others around you). The problem is, even if you actually enjoy that much, it does not prevent you from getting burned out... It's a very delicate balance feeling proud of yourself and keeping up and at the same time having enough time to rest your own mind and body. BTW I am a tech freak following you guys since 2017 (maybe 2018, I use to hear your videos while I work, let's be efficient, ok?) and I feel a bit jealous about all the cool things you can get hands-on and opportunities to test (and maybe fight) things that mere mortals can only dream about. It would be awesome to at least enjoy one single day working with you.
I have always been inspired by the fact that you have stabilised an industry standard in your profession regardless of any kind of obstacle you might have tackled (being building the LMG from group up to whatever you might imagine). I myself have struggled a lot (relatively) due to geographical situation (i live in Iran) to family and other stuff but always has been happy to see i might one day be like you guys, well that's one of my ways to not get frustrated. But this is not only just LMG founders there a lot of legends in yt which inspire people in daily basis in return of almost nothing. Idk if you'll see this or not but it was worth mentioning.
I spent a decade building my business and I then sold it. Now my wife, son and I can enjoy the results of that success.....but I cannot get that time back. I am glad you have worked to incorporate your family into work, crucial to remain connected.
This was so wholesome, Linus. Hearing real, down to earth stuff like this is awesome, and reminds us of the humanity of your character. You're not just a talking head, you're a real man with a real wife and a real family. God bless you and your family, Linus. (:
While I do understand the feeling of seeing parenting/work as together time, I do think that long term there needs to be more. Maybe building those tiny models together, going on an adventurous hike or something else.
"work and parenting is what we do, for better or for worse." as someone with small children, an eye opener during my work commute. I see I can get more than tech tips from you guys :D
I appreciate both of you, everyone on the team. I run a community of several thousand (nothing like your community but still), and people do take you for granted, but just know the silent majority love you, appreciate you and would do anything in a call to action if they were requested. So think of that the next time you get discouraged - I know it won't fix it per se, but it does take a bit of the stink off.
Now while I’m not even close to being a parent nor scratching the surface of adulthood, I can say that I take comfort in the fact that you talk about taking breaks and spending quality time in something worthwhile. Burnout is real and I’ve had to take a break from work to focus on my studies. I miss work, but I recognize that this time of recuperation is what I need more than ever. Much love to Yvonne and the work she put into the company and I wish you all well 💜
We love you Yvonne, for putting up with so much so this dream linus could have could become this beautiful family, channels and company. I can't believe what's it's like to be in your position sometimes and I'm sure it may suck, may be awesome or all these different feelings but thank you

Life gets "busy". My wife and I have a scheduled timeout so we can spend time together every day, even if it is only 30 minutes. No phones, no work and no kids are involved. It keeps us in touch when things get hectic.
Pretty insightful commentary Linus - subscribing to you years ago makes you one of my most valued subscriptions - thank you and all the best to you, your family, and your business.
For anyone working at LMG I'd say it's important to remember it doesn't exclusively revolve around Linus. At this point the entire crew is a necessary part of the productions and their work is appreciated
Thanks for sharing this, it really helps to hear an honest perspective on these sort of things. Helps me feel less alone with the thoughts I struggle with.
As a walmart employee that only gets like 48 hours of paid vacation time a year, please dont take your vacation time for granted. I couldnt take time off to visit my family out of state and now my grandpa has alzheimers, and has to move into assisted living. I cant ask him how life was growing up, what his parents were like, where our family came from, because he can't finish sentences anymore.
Linus than you very much for this segment. It has been stressful with growing a business and it's networking to support customers. It's refreshing to see how you adjusted the view of your tasks to make it more manageable. May your crew continue to laugh and provide awesome content for years. I hope we grow to be featured by you all one day.
Everything about recharging is solid platinum advice. I left a job that was affecting me mentally, emotionally and physically, and it has taken 2 + months for me to even want to do things like clean my house, or visit friends, anything to recharge. The Burnout was SOOOOOO real I had to recover from that negative hole before I could even start to feel better. Take your time off folks. Especially us Americans. Unless you own your own company, you don't owe them squat. Take everything you are entitled to. Your boss won't tell you to, "GO AWAY!" unless they are in the super minority that don't treat people like a commodity to be used and disposed of.
Really good segment. I'm just an outsider looking in, but like all great endeavors, LMG would not be what it is if it weren't for the families of those that build and expand it. I would say there's no way it could be nearly as successful if not only Yvonne, but all the SO's on the team are bought in on it. So here's a shout out to them! Thank you Yvonne and the rest for being a vital part of LMG. It wouldn't be what it is without you. PS: The next channel should be LMT - Linus Marriage Tips... :)
Yvonne, we all love you, LTT is what it is today because you are a very important part of the team. I really enjoy to see you in the videos and i hope we can see more of you soon.
I'm so glad I'm not in a relationship anymore. My ex was not of the mindset that parenting and chores together is what we were doing together. Glad that you have that with Yvonne ❤️
Adversity and growth, you can tell they've grown together. They're not like chores cause its your family. If you both weren't working so hard you probably wouldn't be as perhaps subjectively to some, successful. Y'all are awesome. And I appreciate your forwardness in talking about your family life and struggles. Thanks Linus and co.
I used to take time off to vacation and go do stuff. But I find way more enjoyment in just taking multiple smaller vacations diving deeper into some of my hobbies more. Just being able for a full week to learn something new, or build something work on that project that keeps getting pushed aside. Helps me a lot rather than traveling. I've traveled so much that traveling for vacation is a chore to me and I find it not fun at all anymore It just feels like work.
Oh dang. My first child is due in three weeks. I needed this. I’m doing this tonight. We have a big to do list and I’m going to use the time to communicate instead of viewing it as chores.
Communication (when combined with adequate action) is fun. It aligns you and your partner onto a trajectory for growth. And what can be more fun in life than growing and accomplishing things with your family?
Yvonne, at risk at making you defensive of your husband, you are a saint. Linus seems like a lot to deal with. The “there is a reasonable and logical way of doing things and there is wrong” and the first option just so happens to be what he already thought all along seems like it would make debating him very difficult, not because of his flawless logic but because the effort just to make him see that you can have a different opinion for logical reasons…it just seems like a lot Also, if you are the financial brains of LMG then you deserve awards. Not just a functioning UA-cam business, but a solvent one that employs a few dozen people. That is jaw dropping and the only reason people don’t recognize or beyond “Linus make lot money” is because most people don’t know business. It’s like if you started a successful kayak rental stand and ended up employing 60 people. So if nobody says it, I’m saying it. You are an amazing person and the fact you have limited yourself to this venture should make executives across North America breath a sigh of relief that you aren’t available to take their job and be mad they can’t hire you.
Well I dont have a Yvonne in my shower but showering/bathing is one of my favourite things to do. Its just so nice and I dont know why but my brain goes instant ambitions and passion mode, different thoughts come running inside and I get out highly optimistic.
I've subscribed go ltt for the tech stuff and keyboard reviews but I've grown to love Linus and his journey more then anything else. He's and example for all of us..
I know the focus of this conversation was Yvonne, but this brought the thought to my attention that pretty much EVERYONE that doesn't have face time has a role in making linus tech tips what it is. So i'd like to take this moment to not only appreciate Yvonne for her hard work, but everyone at linus media group for putting in the work and research to make this content possible :)
I came to the realization some time ago that a family needs to prioritize themselves above all else, especially a married couple. I mean obviously you have a responsibility now to your company and your employees' livelihoods, and you have a responsibility to raise your kids, but think about this. Yvonne is the only person in this world who "chose" to spend the rest of her life and possibly eternity (or whatever afterlife there is) with you. Your kids didn't get to choose who their parents were, so as much as you love your kids, one day they're going to grow up, move out and find somebody else who they love and want to spend their lives with more than you. LMG will one day be in your rear view mirror. When it's all said and done, when your kids have their own lives and you're too old and/or tired to work any more, it's just going to be you and Yvonne. I mean this with the utmost respect and well wishes; you've got a special relationship with that woman, out of everybody, she's the single most important person in your life, so make sure she knows it.
I'm feeling this and am in a similar position myself. I work a whole lot too in my job and to some extent have made myself irreplaceable, I absolutely love what I do and can't bare to be away from the place. I don't take vacation time very often because I literally have no other interests or hobbies outside of tech. Sometimes it can put a strain on my relationship though but we currently make it work. My employer is currently recruiting heavily and we've grown the team three-fold in a matter of months and the hardest part for me is delegating the tasks that I love doing to new people and trying to take a step back a bit. Us true techies seem to really struggle with this it seems!
Time will tell the true story in what our children and spouse say and how they feel about the past. When they are older then we know and it’s also different for each person. So one person could hate the past and the other love it. In spite of saying that the present is an indication of how we will look back in the future. We all have to be aware of what choices we make now and accept responsibility for the future consequences of our decisions whether good or bad.
Just for your information, my parents realised after my brother and I moved out of the house... that they didn't talk about each other for at least 20-25 years. There was movement on our part (moving out, moving in, moving out again), but almost always we were in the focus.
Behind every successful man, there is and amazing woman keeping him in check 😂. I think Yvonne deserves all the love that she gets from this channel and it's fans, she really is Linus' inspiration.

Especially relevant now he tried resolving the hack yesterday butt naked in the middle of the night. He's not wearing the pants in the house
@William Schlass ya weird to say
she also wears the strapon
I like Yvonne videos, very underappreciated indeed she puts in a lot of great work
does she have a channel or something?
@@MaxC_1 She sometimes appears on LTT & TechLinked.
Yvonne is genuinely as big a part of LTT/LMG as Linus, amazing person. Wish I knew someone even half as awesome
Thank you for all the work maybe someday down the line I can afford to buy one of your merch as a token of appreciation
luke is like spongebob with his work ethic
Luke, I say this as a fellow programmer. Please, use your vacation days. Hell, use them for a new game release if you must.
Stumbled in this while going thru therapy and parenting coursework, super helpful reminder to appreciate partner-family plus time off to step away from work, work will ALWAYS be there
I did not expect to find such a beautiful insight here watching Linus Tech Tips
I'm going to show my husband this video. Because we struggle with this problem, I'm sure all couples do at some point, and it's nice to see someone else talk about how they work through their relationship priorities.
Also, we see Yvonne, and appreciate all that she does
Yvonne looks better every time I see her. Both of you should be so proud of what you achieved.
She's a boss. So are you. You're lucky to have found each other and so strong for having held on. GANG.
We love it!
Health, doing stuff together, and doing stuff alone, very important! :)
We love Yvonne she deserves the upmost respect and praises for her work. She’s a gem.
Two new channel ideas:
- Linus Shower Tips
- Yvonne Finance Tips
But honestly, yeah Yvonne's an MVP here. And I appreciate the vulnerability of you sharing this Linus.
I don't think Yvonne Finance Tips would like actually work, but I could see the beats it would hit. More like a Mac Address type channel.
@@thetalesofdaneandco I wonder if a channel mainly for something like a CMS software review or other stuff tech related in the group done by other staff would work... there's too much CMS and related management softwares out there, if someone like yvonne give some hottakes like how this software doesn't really work with here workflow and like this "part" of software is idiotsyncratic and hope they can fix it... but then again most CMS softwares are like paid, very rare open software available I think
@@PrograError Probably not worth a separate channel, but maybe something like a segment on ShortCircuit or TechQuickie?
I notice Yvonne in the back ground and during videos helping out with quite important things.
I appreciate what she does for everyone.
I'm not married yet but Linus' Love Tips are very much appreciated 👍
LLL
Yvonne, even though you're not in front of the camera much, we know of all the work you put in . You're the GOAT of LTT. The MVP!
(How do you stay motivated ?) instantly talks about his wife
What a awesome man
Wow, having a dual shower head is a brilliant idea. This couple is very inspiring, this is what a marriage should look like.
Linus has friend for life with Luke. He would be there when you need him and that is something to cherish.
So cool to hear things about you and how you did sooo much. Giant respect to you and your team.
While I do understand the feeling of seeing parenting/work as together time, I do think that long term there needs to be more.
Maybe building those tiny models together, going on an adventurous hike or something else.
@agapp11able I feel like anything that your financial future depends on isn't really compatible with free time
Yvonne is most definitely a keeper.
Dear Yvonne, thank you for all you did and do. Without you, we would not have Linus & Co the way they are now.
Sincerely Thank you
Man, the beginning of this video broke my heart. This is so real.
Thats a very fragile heart you have?
Been watching you Linus from the early days and you never made me feel emotional, but you got me this time. Respect and love from a fellow dad.
I can't believe what's it's like to be in your position sometimes and I'm sure it may suck, may be awesome or all these different feelings but thank you
Mad respect for Linus, he's such a great person.
Thank you for being open and vulnerable.
woah. much luv 2 u Linus & Yvonne u help so many in so many ways.
You're more capable of introspection than most, Linus. Bravo!
Being overwhelmed is the worst. I am struggling with this right now myself.
Hang in there, this feeling will pass and you will get through this!
2 minutes in just paused it to write this message for Linus (dude who reads the comments please let him read this since it would mean alot for me)
Hey man, I wanted to say thank you for sharing this with your viewers. Find in regards to your work and what you do this kind of reality of your life you may not want to ever show, but knowing this is special and really cool knowing how you think during situations you and your family face and how you both grow together and push through what you're dealing with :) Thank you for being real, love hearing about how your life is going and how you over come situations that pass your way.
Showering together also helps save water. Great advice!
Probably not if they keep having long conversations there:-D.
Dual shower heads they are like 6 feet apart
There is always another battle. You don't really have to devote everything, just because you know something more will come.
Yvonne thank you for being amazing! Appreciate you! You definitely are the backbone 👍
You guys should have her on the show! Would love to hear some stories and experiences from her.
This was an incredibly wholesome speech.
Yvonne, at risk at making you defensive of your husband, you are a saint. Linus seems like a lot to deal with.
The “there is a reasonable and logical way of doing things and there is wrong” and the first option just so happens to be what he already thought all along seems like it would make debating him very difficult, not because of his flawless logic but because the effort just to make him see that you can have a different opinion for logical reasons…it just seems like a lot
Also, if you are the financial brains of LMG then you deserve awards.
I appreciate Yvonnes presence in the background, I don’t think the channel would be the same without her presence ❤️
I've subscribed go ltt for the tech stuff and keyboard reviews but I've grown to love Linus and his journey more then anything else. He's and example for all of us..
We all stan Yvonne and her invaluable contributions to this channel ❤❤❤
I know the focus of this conversation was Yvonne, but this brought the thought to my attention that pretty much EVERYONE that doesn't have face time has a role in making linus tech tips what it is. So i'd like to take this moment to not only appreciate Yvonne for her hard work, but everyone at linus media group for putting in the work and research to make this content possible :)
That was really lovely and involving. Would rarely say it, but thank you for sharing your non-tech personal story)
I would love of video of Linus and Yvonne just talking about the company and how its been for them.
We need more trip videos
Thanks for this. This is how it is sometimes. Thanks, Yvonne
Yvonne to me, was always Linus partner, but some years ago I saw the blog of the studio changes, and clearly saw how incredible important she is
Basically he is confirming:
Every great man has a greater woman behind him.
Love u Yvonne ❤️🔥
Yvonne deserves a lot of appreciation for putting up with Linus
Just for your information, my parents realised after my brother and I moved out of the house... that they didn't talk about each other for at least 20-25 years. There was movement on our part (moving out, moving in, moving out again), but almost always we were in the focus.
Behind every successful man, there is and amazing woman keeping him in check 😂. I think Yvonne deserves all the love that she gets from this channel and it's fans, she really is Linus' inspiration.
If you have an active directory or something like that for your logins, do what we do.
Simply disable the account of people who are on vacation and reenable them when they come back.
Everyone who is a long time viewer knows Yvonne is a massive part of helping LTT grow
